Jennifer Glad I just figured out this is a trilogy because that was such a depressing ending! I couldn't help but ball my eyes out! Now i have to wait till next Feb for the next book.

Brittany Utley i know right, i was completely upset after reading this but now i have high hopes.

Melissa I def cried (tear)

Jennifer I was like why didn't he get over the fence? Did he just know he would not be able to make it? I hope in the next book Lena rescues him from the Crypts and they form a crazy resistance. I wonder if after Hana is cured she will be different. Or maybe she will still end up being a sympathizer. Very curious to see where this series goes and I hope there ends up being a happy ending.

Lauren :) I liked that the ending wasnt as perdictable as them running away together!! cant wait to read more of this story :)

Danielle I will admit it that i cried at the end of this book! Thank god there is there a next book in the series!

message 7: by Jennifer (new) - added it

Jennifer Ya I cried like crazy! When I finished I thought it was a stand alone book so I was soooo upset lol but then when I found out there was two more I was hoping maybe Alex can be rescued

Alison At first I was in shock! I read it twice before I realised and then I balled my eyes out! He better survive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MisTris I'm sure he survived, but I'm betting Lena won't be able to rescue him from the Crypts. Rather, I think he will be "cured" and made to find her and bring her back. That's my prediction.

oh no that would be awful although she still does have to fill up 2 more books so I bet there will be tons of twists and turns and more drama before everything works out in the end I'm gonna need a huge tissue box for the rest of this series!

MisTris Yes. For sure. Many tissues.

In addition to him being "cured", I think it will be up to Lena to find a cure for the cure. And I think her mother (yes, I'm sure she will find her) will help.

message 12: by Jennifer (new) - added it

Jennifer Yes I think she is going to find her mother too

Yusra I read the ending THRICE and cried ALL three times. This book is depressing. I hope Alex survives and that she finds her mother!

Kenzie i cried my eyes out! its so sadd. :( i can not wait for the next one! :)

I honestly couldn't sleep and I even wanted to read the book all over again already. (Not that I didn't already read the last three pages more than I can count.) It's such a relief knowing that there are two more books after this. I can now sleep peacefully.

message 16: by Ali (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ali i hated the ending!!!!! it was sooo sad

Margaux i just want the next book!! ugh.. i hate waiting!!! :(

Rolenda It was really depressing but that was before I found out that it isn't a stand alone book... I kinda read the last parts more than once *just to torture myself* But now I'm really excited for the next books! I think I moved on hAHA...

Same here I thought it was stand alone but even though there will be two more books I still don't have too much faith in a happy ending especially after I died balling crying after reading Before I Fall!!! Lauren Oliver really likes to lay on the depressing! Amazing books but come on a happy ending still leaves a great impact!!!!!!!!!!

Rolenda Jennifer wrote: "Rolenda wrote: "It was really depressing but that was before I found out that it isn't a stand alone book... I kinda read the last parts more than once *just to torture myself* But now I'm really e..."

Yeah that's what i think would happen on the next 2 books.. Lauren Oliver seems to be feeding on our depression :D all we can do now is to hope for the best. I don't know, but even though it end up that way, I'm dying to read the next books!

Jayda Dyment Yah I cryed so hard I just finished the book before the school bus came and all my makeup got all messed up

Charlene i know!! i wanted to remake the ending in my head...

Nurlely I am devastated with the ending but I think Lauren Oliver did an excellent job with Delirium. It makes me rooting for Pandemonium...:)

I just finished Delirium and as I made sure it was the last page, I was thinking, WHAT THE HELL. But then I found out, like everyone else, it's a trilogy. PHEW. Definitely going to read the next one. What do you guys think about the "falling in love again"? Do you think a love triangle will spoil everything?

Nurlely I will hate the idea of Lena falling in love again. Alex is alive! Why would Lena fall with someone else. Alex is perfect! A love triangle will spoil things.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I think it might add some needed tension, because Alex and Lena's relationship is a little too perfect. (This is just the weird psychologist's view)

Ruthie I just finished and I think I must have reread the end about five times. I can't.. I just can't even process this right now. Damn cliffhangers *sigh*

Nurlely I hope I can see Alex and Lena both in Pandemonium.

is there going to be a second one? i loved delirium but didn't know she was planning on #2

message 31: by Yumi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Yumi i loved alex and the fact that he loved lena so much. i really hope he survived but it just doesn't seem likely. what i'm hoping for is that lena will find her mom in the wilds and she and her mom will stage a mass prison break for alex. :)

Nurlely Yumi wrote: "Nurlely wrote: "is there going to be a second one? i loved delirium but didn't know she was planning on #2"

Yes, Pandemonium is the second book. You can look at the series under Lauren Oliver's page here on Goodreads.

Anna (Literary Exploration) OMGGG. When I finished this book I literally threw it across the room I was so mad!!! If something terrible happens to Alex I don't think I could forgive Lauren Oliver!!

Nurlely IKR. Alex was too important in Delirium to die that way. And there was nothing about his death in the book. Dystopia novel usually has tough male character...:)

Mockingjay Nurlely wrote: "IKR. Alex was too important in Delirium to die that way. And there was nothing about his death in the book. Dystopia novel usually has tough male character...:)"

Yeah, most Dystopian novels do have strong male characters, just look at Fade in Enclave, Four in Divergent, Peeta and Gale in the Hunger Games ect...

Nurlely I haven't read Divergent...:( Got the paperback but still need to rearrange my to-read list. I am thinking of rereading Mortal Instruments and Iron fey series...

Mockingjay @ Nurlely

Divergent was amazing! Lots of action, strong characters and a dis-functional government system- the total package

OMG AGREED! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

There's no way they can kill Alex! He's gonna survive straight through the trilogy.

message 40: by Alex (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alex This ending was one of THE most depressing I have EVER read, I started crying and freaking out because I thought Alex was dead!! Then I found out it was a trilogy and started calming down. I loved this book, and I hope Lena finds Alex again and she doesn't fall in love with another guy.

Anna (Literary Exploration) Alex wrote: "This ending was one of THE most depressing I have EVER read, I started crying and freaking out because I thought Alex was dead!! Then I found out it was a trilogy and started calming down. I loved ..."

I agree!! I have this feeling that she's going to meet some other guy in the Wilds and will fall in love with him and then all of a sudden Alex will appear and it will be this super crazy-making triangle. UGH

Nurlely I will hate the triangle love. It will make Delirium similar to other young adult novels.

Alexandria Chidiak I cried so so much it was perfection

message 50: by jenn (new) - added it

jenn reads fiction I didn't feel it was super depressing. I mean, I definitely wasn't happy but, it's a book series so yeah, it screamed book series. And now the twist. Poor Alex :( Sometimes I pictured him to look like a taller Zac Efron, no? haha
