June - Pick It For Me challenge
I finished my buddy read of The Beast in Him on 6/7. I haven't heard a final opinion from Lily yet, but based on conversations while we were reading, I think we both felt much the same about it - ok, but not as good as the first book in the series, The Mane Event, and Bobby Ray was way too cocky and full of himself through most of the book. I thought he did improve toward the end, but he was still pretty annoying at times.
Lili wrote: "Ok Autumn... just finished Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh and it was all I expected, wanted, whished... and more!!5 shiny stars and here's my review.."
OHHH!! Lili! is that you!! LOLLOL!!! i read, liked, and even commented on your review but had no idea it was you!!. You changed your profile pic and that completely tipped me off!! ohh that was a good one!! :P
Im so glad you liked Mercy`s book!! im climbing my way up there in the series.. they are soo good!!
I finished It Had to Be You and it was mmm.. different. Im really difficult to like chick-lit. However, this book had its moments.. i feel like i want to read one more book before i form an opinion on SEP. Thanks Cathy for the rec! I really like when im pushed in a direction to read new authors. :)
I will start with
after my current reading. xxxxxx

Meh!
I liked The Mane Event very much but this one fell short... it wasn't that funny or interesting.
I couldn't really relate to the main characters or get into the story.
I found Sissy sooo annoying and I guess at the end I was supposed to learn that Smitty's parents were tough but nice... don't really care either way.
I'll read the next one in the series but I'm in no hurry.

Are you serious??
I thought that was why you had commented on it!
LOL!
And yes, I changed my pic to show the world I'm a mighty Jade Dragon (my team for a group challenge).
I'm dying to get to Kiss of Snow but then I want to really savor each book since I'll have to wait a whole year for my next fix.
Thanks again for my recs Autumn... I want to read one of your funny books since I'm also a kind of sarcastic person (according to my boyfriend but I don't see it).
School is been hectic since we're 2 weeks away from summer break but I'll see if I can manage.
Hey Layla,
I couldn't get my hands on Under Fire, so I read Baby, I'm Yours by Susan Andersen. I thought it was really funny and had a good laugh over it. Thanks for the great rec!

on Friday, 6-10-11. Good solid start to a series. For a romantic fantasy, the romance part was slow moving. But it is only the first book and there's plenty of room for the relationship to grow. The characters are interesting, one in particular is obnoxious. I'm interested in seeing how things develop.

I finished Stranger this morning. I really really liked it. This is my second Megan Hart book but certainly not my last. Thank you Kerste for the great rec!

The Face of Deception
... a few days ago and it was different from what I usually read and kept my interest, I had to know what happened to Eve next so I read novel two immediately after.Thank you again for the great recs.:)
Emily-I read Dirty, and I wasn't crazy about it. I wasn't crazy about how it was written. I will have to see what else that author had written and try something else.
On a different note I also read A Hunger Like No Other and I loved it! You need to read that when you get a chance. I can't wait to read more of the series!
@ Kate - there is just something about Megan Hart that doesn't do it for me...all her books leave me feeling empty
Hi AshleyAlexis,I have read Bet Me - Jennifer Crusie this weekend and I enjoyed it a lot, thank you for recommending it, I now know that I will try another of her books soon. I am also planning to read It had to be you, got the book but couldn't start it yet and will also planning to give a chance to Hunting Julian if I can manage.

. It was funny and I enjoyed it. I'm picking up Crave from the library today it you would like to buddy read it.
I finished The Darkest Night, my buddy read with Laura. I really liked it and gave it four stars. Another series that I want to finish. Like I don't have enough of those. There is just not enough hours in the day. If only I could read instead of work. Boo.
taita wrote: "For Roxy - Thanks for your patience! Hope you enjoy my picks. Happy Reading!Hi Taita!
Thanks for the picks! I have finished two books and loved them both:

Hi Gigi,I finished The Raven Prince on 6/11 and as you know, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I needed a fan to lower the temperature in the room each time I read. LOL!
For some reason, I always thought of widows as old ladies. This book really changed my mind. Thanks for another great recommendation! I will keep working on the other picks you've given me this summer.
Hi Roxy! I finished Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution. I gave it 4 stars...a very enjoyable read about a period of history that has always fascinated me. Thanks for the pick!

I am looking forward to that movie too, though a little bit worried about ruining the effect of the book in me... I have been recommending the book to almost anyone I know :)
True, there is always that risk! The author wrote the screenplay so let's hope the movie is true to the source material. Have you seen the trailer?? It gives me goosebumps...I will probably start bawling when the opening credits roll. LOLhttp://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi8576...
Hey, thanks I haven't seen the trailer before so that was great :) and it looked effective... So fingers crossed waiting for it to be across the theathres just a few months moreee :) And I guess I will be in UK when its on so I might get a chance to see it there which would be great :)
MissI'm picking up
from the library tonight. We can start the buddy read anytime, just let me know.ETA: I started a thread at Buddy Read: Wither by Lauren DeStefano (June PIFM)

It was wonderful and totally worth being exhausted today ;)
I just got The Peach Keeper yesterday from the library. I tried the audiobook first but it was horrible so I had to take out the print book. :)
Finished my 1st PIFM book,
. Thank you very much for the rec, Tania! I was afraid I wouldn't like it as much because of the two year hiatus, but it was amazing! On to Magic Slays!
Liv, I finished Midnight's Daughter last night. Thanks for pushing that up my TBR as I really liked it and wonder why I waited so long.

I just finished
. Thanks so much for the recommendation Diane ~Firefly! I really enjoyed it. It had me laughing frequently. I thought the interaction between the two leads was believable. It defied my expectations of contemporary romance (see Harlequin Romance) in a good way. I'm glad I went with something outside my box this month.
yeah - whenever works - weekend would probably be better for me, I have a couple of books I gotta finish up and an ethics paper to write and then i'll be freeCaroline wrote: "D.G. ~Vile Temptress~ wrote: "Yes, please join us Dee!
