I am reading
The Dark and Hollow Places as well nearly finished it. Love it and am dying to find out how it finishes!
It's going to plunge to 17 tonight here in Darwin! Trust me winter blanket is coming out of the cedar chest tonight!
Winter is coming (couldn't resist to add A Game of Thrones quote) but I agree with Michael; let's start now
Don't be naughty Knowledge!! You just have to be patient! Try to set a good example, there's a good boy!! ;)
A bit of a mixed bag, the collection that I'm starting off with is as follows; bound to change during the course of Winter *chuckle*1. Michael Palin – Sahara
2. Katrina Beikoff – No Chopsticks Required
3. John Flanagan – The Emperor of Nihon-Ja
4. Greg Mortenson – Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace... One School at a Time
5. Sara Gruen – Water for Elephants
6. Ben Collins – The Man in the White Suit
7. Bill Bryson – In a Sunburned Country
8. Jim Butcher – Ghost Story
9. Suzanne Collins – The Hunger Games (via Jacinta Hoare’s bookshelf)
10. Ben Aaronovitch – Rivers of London
X. Brian Sibley – The Maps of Tolkien's Middle-Earth
cheers :)
if i stamp my feet can we start?
Weeeeeeelll. Living in Darwin we only have two seasons the wet and the dry. The dry is sort of OUR winter so winter for me really started on May 1st :)
LOL. I'll be good. Have just preordered a book for my read a new release challenge ( the sacrifices I make!)
It is The Dark Enquiry by Deanna Raybourn due for release at the end of June
I know but I also said I've got a book from the autumn challenge to read so it doesn't matter to me..haha :p
Im okay with another three days. Ive got another 150+ pages left The Dark and Hollow Places, which I need to finish for the sci-fi/fantasy challenge. Its taking me ages to read, but its fantastic!
I've got my list together for Winter:1. Robert Drewe, The Shark Net
2. Lisa Genova, Still Alice
3. John Marsden, Tomorrow, When the War Began
4. Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
5. Erich Maria Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front
6. Matthew Reilly, Ice Station (though I may change this one yet)
7. Peter Carey, True History of the Kelly Gang
8. John Boyne, The Absolutist(to be released in Australia in mid-June I think I read.)
9. Karen Slaughter, Broken
10. Agatha Christie, Dead Man's Folly(nothing like returning to an author that feels like an old friend)
11. Martin Amis, Money
Not sure I will make it through all of this list but it is something to aim for!
I've started reading one of mine but I won't finish it until well into winter. It is nonfiction and promotes some thought so won't be rushed
