Laura-Sorry it took so long to reply. I really love my ring, and am very glad my REAL ring is still in there. I think it was a thoughtful compromise.

Allison (inconceivably) nah, probably can't sign on to GR from prison.

message 3853: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha! But really, would just threatening get you a sentence? Maybe just psychological eval?

message 3854: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) eek. My brain is better left unevaluated I think.

message 3855: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Do prisons have libraries? That wouldn't be so bad...if it stocks Stephen King I could at least finish The Stand.

Bet they ban Shawshank Redemption.

message 3856: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Speaking of...

Morgan Freeman is just...the man. Seriously. I love that guy.

message 3857: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) My favorite SK movie (well, I haven't seen very many) is Secret Window. I want to read THAT someday.

(and it is NOT just my favorite because it has Johnny Depp.)

message 3858: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Its a short story in...something. I'm sure Kandice will know.

message 3859: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Secret Window, Secret Garden is the name of it I think.

message 3860: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Four Past Midnight Four Past Midnight by Stephen King

Ooh! Pretty. It's really a much better story than it translated to screen. (I love Johnny Depp, so I overlooked that)

message 3861: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Different Seasons [image error]

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is "Hope Springs Eternal". Each story is a season. There's "The Body" (Stand By Me) which was Fall From Innocence, Apt Pupil (also a horrible movie) which was Summer of Corruption, and The Breathing Method, A Winter's Tale. That last one was my least favorite King story.

message 3862: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) thanks Kandice!

message 3863: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I really like putting those book covers on here! It makes me feel "technical"!!!! Thanks Fiona, for telling me how;)

message 3864: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) FIONA!! I just got Fallen Angel :) I'm glad I had it delivered to my office...it made my day.

message 3865: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I can't believe it was only $2, it is in new condition! yeesh.

message 3866: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol. I have to read Graceling and Howl's Moving Castle next since they are ILL and I can't renew them.

message 3867: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) lol. Well, Howl's isn't even in yet. The library just called about Graceling. I do have until March 16th to read it...I think I can handle that.

THERE IS SO MUCH I WANT TO READ!!! I am so frustrated. I don't mind pushing ahead on things people suggest though, because at least I know they'll be good. :)

message 3868: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) humm...hopefully you can get used to it :\

message 3869: by Kandice (new)

Kandice What's Fallen Angel? It's the title of an X-File episode:)

message 3870: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Is it YA, or regular? Is it technical, legal, or just mysterious? Have you read them all?

My darn cell phone is acting up.

message 3871: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I don't think its been printed in the US...I got my copy used on Amazon though for $2, plus $4 shipping of course.

message 3872: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Is it from England?
I sometimes have to buy new Colleen McCullough books on E-Bay because they are never released here as quickly as I would like! I hate that.

Laura, don't do like Fiona and ask those questions!!!!:-) Just enjoy and everything will become clear. let yourself be absorbed by it. Do you like it for now?

I have only seen perry Mason on tv and it wasn't bad but didn't ever enjoy it. I adore Agatha Christie books. I collect them in some way and have them mostly in dutch version, some in english and a whole serie of them in french with a nice hard blue, old looking cover. I am forever grateful to ehr because thanks to her I adore reading since I was like 7 years old.

message 3875: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh Jeane! You are one to talk! You kept wanting to know when Claire was going home in Outlander.

message 3876: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Allison wrote: "Never read Perry Mason.

DYING to read The Loop...I have it on hold at the library, I just need the loser that checked it out to bring it back."

But he isn't a looser if he is reading it too!!!

message 3877: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Allison wrote: "Is The Divide good? When someone had the gall to check out The Loop before me, I picked up The Divide...but maybe I should just return it and wait for The Loop."

Read The divide. the loop is my favourite and msot intense but they all have like something different and end up grabbing people and absorbing them completely. So I would go with the divide for now.

message 3878: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My grandmother has nook shelves just sompletely overflowing with Christie, Perry Mason and things like that. I would devour them at her house on visits. I absolutely adored them! I just can't ever keep them straight. When I am sick, they are the perfect books to read, as I feel I have an old friend with me.

I wish you would try to read just one Erle Stanley Gardner. I bet you would like it.

you actually come across like super active.....the comment was more a cheeky, not realistic but teasing comment:-)))

message 3880: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Thank you. I swear, I have been stressing about that! Silly, I know, but....

message 3881: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Kandice wrote: "Oh Jeane! You are one to talk! You kept wanting to know when Claire was going home in Outlander."

yeah but that was ebcause all of your comments made me think she would go and come from one palce to the other!!!! and you know I am at about 500 pages and she is still there!!!!

message 3882: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Jeane-Since you guys like homemade pizza, and it seems clear you only eat the veggie kind, I have a question. I like veggies too, and I love tons of mushrooms on my pizza, but when I make it, I like them over the sauce, but below the cheese. They seem to cook to the perfect texture that way. Have you tried that?

I wouldn't be bored there!

message 3884: by Jackie (last edited Mar 13, 2009 02:40PM) (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I read my first Agatha Christie last year... Murder on the Orient Express. It was pretty good.

Jeane, how are you enjoying Outlander?

message 3885: by [deleted user] (new)

Allison: I always pay someone to do my taxes because they are complicated. This year will be worse!

message 3886: by [deleted user] (new)

Glad to hear Salem's Lot is good. I need to read that one.

message 3887: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I have to say, that is one I think I may never have read! Obvously it's the one most people have heard of, but I think I never read it because of the movie. You should definitely read more, Jackie!

message 3888: by [deleted user] (new)

Prison's in the US are apparently easy going. Like it would teach anyone to not committ crimes. I do believe they get access to some internet. They can even complete degrees.

message 3889: by [deleted user] (new)

Shawshank isn't that scary I think it's more, thought provoking.

I do believe that they have libraries in Prisons still. I know that they do get to do college courses.

message 3890: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Well, in the Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne actually MADE their library through perserverance.

message 3891: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Okay, Emilee's avi is hot and I want to look like Jackie's. I think I need a new one!

message 3892: by [deleted user] (new)

I really liked Secret Window. I think I have it on my TBR list.

message 3893: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Lol...I actually was going to change my avi to another Vargas girl. I think I'll do it tonight.

message 3894: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona you are the Book Pusher!

message 3895: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Emilee-Do you mean the story or the movie? I liked both, but of course, the book is way better. For sure read it if you haven't!

Varga girls are the best. My brother had a calendar of them that he kept years out of date!

message 3896: by [deleted user] (new)

The movie haven't read the book yet but would like too!

message 3897: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha Jackie, any time I talk to you or read your messages I picture you just like that.

message 3898: by [deleted user] (new)

So Fiona wants us to hit 8000 posts by this weekend. We have 2051 to go. We better get typing!

Fiona: did you leave us?

message 3899: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I think she said she was going to read

message 3900: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Ha ha! That's a cute funny one! I always get so confused when people change! I have to study for a bit to remember. (old age and senility setting in)

We shouldn't begrudge her reading since this is a site devoted to it!!!!
