I just finished Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and have started Wild by Cheryl Strayer. I really enjoyed Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I already knew a little history from that time period and he did a good job putting the vampires into the history.

I'm wondering if this has much in common with Jack Weatherford's Savages and Civilization which I have a lot of time for. A little book but illuminating, and I like Jack Weatherford as a thinker about traditional societies.

Just finished the Weird Sisters by Elenaor Brown and while I enjoyed it and the rather realistic characters, I felt she could have played it for alot more drama. I do however think that the lighter tone did allow the reader to look at themselves as an adult who never quite grew up in a more humane way.

I was quite surprised by this one. I hadn't expected too much of it, but it was a lot less gory and a lot more interesting and well-written than I had thought it would be.

I'm reading Screwball Television: Critical Perspectives on Gilmore Girls. All the essays I've read so far are very heavy on the dense academic writing and a little short on interesting perspectives. I'm looking forward to a chapter that's coming up comparing the towns from Gilmore Girls and Northern Exposure (which I'm re-watching right now).

Finished News from Heaven,my giveaway from GoodReads.The author's voice was excellent,and as the grandaughter of 3rd wave immigrants the stories seemed realistic and plausible. The difficulty,at least for me,is that it was depresssing. It's gonna take me awhile to write this review...

I started Red Mist yesterday and am glad to say that after the disappointment of Port Mortuary Patricia Cornwell is back on her game. Really enjoying this one and looking forward to The Bone Bed.

I've just finished by William Landay. Defending Jacob is a well-written, disturbing and gripping crime thriller with plenty of twists and turns throughout the novel to keep you interested. I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the very beginning to the end. The reader is kept guessing as to whether Jacob is innocent or guilty until the very end of the novel. Throughout the trial I kept changing my mind about whether Jacob was guilty or not. I thought this was a excellent read so I’m giving it a well-deserved five stars!

Iced by Karen Marie Moning. It's another installment within the Fever series. IMO, it's nowhere near as good as the previous ones and that's because it's from Dani's perspective not Mac's. I really did miss this world but this book is not living up to the standards that KMM has set for us in the past. I'm about 60% into it and just want to throw it against the wall!!
Going to have I settle for disappointment on this one.

I've finished reading by Jamie Ford last night. I really loved this book! Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is a beautiful, fascinating, tender and moving story from beginning to end. Like the title suggests, the story is such a bitter-sweet tale, heartbreaking at times and so warm and sweet in others.All the characters were vivid, well-developed and realistic. I really loved the characters of Henry, Keiko and Sheldon, and really cared about what happened to them. I found it really hard to put this novel down and I look forward to reading more from this author! I gave this novel 5 Stars!

I am currently reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. MartinA very good book, but very difficult to follow.... So many characters and plots, you get easily confused. Had to wikipedia the characters and saved it on my kindle for reference.
