A Girl Among The Anarchists is what I am reading now. I am doing a Century of Books. So far, this is pretty good - very earnest as the two authors were anarchists (and eventually fascists. Wish they had written about that transition!) I picked it up because it is written by the daughters of Michael Rossetti, the brother to Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

I'm reading three Kindle Serials. These books are published by the episode which comprises multiples chapters. So far I'm really enjoying them.Anyone reading the Kindle Serials?
Right now I'm in the middle of
by Susanna Kearsley. So far it's a little different from the other books I've read from her.
I just finished reading Erane Scully's - The Carrion Vine (a $3.99 e-book on Kindle and Nook) and I loved it. It is , based on the author's true story ( http://eranescully.blogspot.com/ ) of a Swiss mother and her daughter visiting Poland when invaded during WWII and their determimed survival in a Siberian Forced Labor camp. I have met this author and she has done many local book club events in the midwest - definetly a 5 star read!
I just finished a re-read of Daddy-Long-Legs and am still reading Little Women and I'm almost done with Maui Widow Waltz.

Gitte wrote: "I'm reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel"I love wolf hall! I got the sequel for christmas and cant wait to start it.
Finished the Book of Laughter and Forgetting last night, would highly recommend.
Yesterday I finished reading
by Kate Alcott. I really enjoyed this novel. It was very hard to put it down. I loved all the historical details about the Titanic and its survivors. I liked this unique take on the Titanic disaster. Not many books about the Titanic sinking feature the aftermath of it and how survivors try to deal with what happened and move on. I gave it 4 stars! My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I'm also about to finish
by Janet Evanovich and make a start on
by William Peter Blatty.
Brianne wrote: "I just finished Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. So good! I recommend everyone read it! Now I am reading Castle by J. Robert Lennon. I'm looking forward to it."
That is a good book, Brianne!
Brenda wrote: "I finished the book Love, Charleston, and I am working on Paths of Glory."that is the next one on my list Love, Charleston. how was it? I have read only one book by that author and I enjoyed it Grace at Low Tide
Right now I'm almost done (80%) with the final book in Ally Condie's "Matched" trilogy; "Reached" and I just finished Sophie Jordan's "Firelight" trilogy and Kim Harrison's "Madison Avery" trilogy and one standalone; "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky (spell?), so far for my first reads of 2013. Lol!
almost about to finish
A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore - very inventive, funny book on not funny subject. I'm enjoyed reading that/
I've just finished reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel - I couldn't put it down, the creativity used in the gaps in historical knowledge made for a fantastic read. I can't wait to read the second part.
I am currently reading Rules of Deception by Christopher Reich - very good so far! I just finished the Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jaime Ford and Rules of Prey by John Sanford. I love historical fiction but wasn't sure about Wolf Hall but it sounds like a lot of you have read and and love it so I think I will give that a try!
An Infamous Army and so far worth it! I've never studied Waterloo and I keep looking up more info as I continue to read. Love Georgette Heyer!
Wide Sargasso Sea which I thought I might have read before but have come to the conclusion I saw the movie and didn't read the book and an interesting book, Atomic Renaissance: Women Mystery Writers of the 1940s and 1950s, about these interesting women some of whom I've read.
I'm going to start reading The Silver Linings Playbook. Recently saw the movie and people were saying the book is vastly different, so it got me curious. But if the Pat from the novel is anything like the Pat played by Bradley Cooper, then I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
I'm currently reading This Republic of Suffering: Death and the American Civil War by Drew Gilpin Faust. It's pretty interesting so far.
I finished A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin and now am changing the pace by reading Mommy Wars: Stay-at-Home and Career Moms Face Off on Their Choices, Their Lives, Their Families by Leslie Morgan Steiner.
Am reading
and it is amazing. Love the style of writing and the changeup of characters weaving the stories together. The author threads everything so seamlessly that there are no abrupt transitions.
Just finished reading Jared Diamond's new book The World Until Yesterday: What Can We Learn from Traditional Societies?. The book explores our traditional way of life (prior to the onset of civilization) and makes the argument that though civilization does bring it with it many important benefits, there are several areas wherein traditional practices represent an improvement over how we do things in the modern world, and that these practices could (and should) be incorporated into our modern way of life (both at the personal and societal level). The areas include conflict resolution, child care, treatment of the elderly, approaching risk and health. The book is very illuminating. I've written a full executive summary of it available here: http://newbooksinbrief.com/2013/01/15...Cheers,
Aaron
Finished
and started
. I'm also about half-way through an ebook:
Love Does was just ok. The writing was good and the message of the book, but time and time again the fact taht guy has money became front and center. It was a turn off.
The Dust Bowl: an Illustrated History. Is fascinating even though I've seen the movie documentary and some of the pictures and heard a few of the other stories. The black and white photos are stunning.
I'm only one chapter into The Language of Flowers and so far it's good.

I will be now, a couple of those look great!!
Finished Monster Hunter International. What an exciting ride. Now I'm reading Mistborn: The Final Empire.
I'm reading February by Lisa Moore, The Purchase by Linda Spalding and The City & the city by China Mieville
I just finished reading
by William Peter Blatty. The Exorcist is an engrossing, gripping, disturbing and well-written supernatural tale. I really enjoyed this novel. I thought the author's writing style was excellent. I found it very hard to put this book down for long. I just had to know what happened next even though I've seen the movie half a dozen times! It didn't frighten me to death but it did scare me a good bit! Even though the book is over forty years old, except for a bit of seventies slang here and there, it really isn't dated at all. The Exorcist is one of the best horror novels that I've read in a long time. Even if you've already seen the movie a hundred times I'd recommend reading the novel as it's a lot better than the movie! My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Now I'm about to start
by William Landay.
Ellie wrote: "I just finished reading

. And yes, it is one of the best horror works of all times. Unfortunately, I'd read the book after watching the movie(which is like more than a few hundred times) which is my all-time horror favorites. But, loved the book nonetheless. And I'd recommend the same. BTW, nice review, Ellie! -Asha
I finished reading
and immensely enjoyed it. Now reading
.. I love it so far. Atleast the suspense-intrigued-curiosity does not let me put the book down.
Martin wrote: "I'm going to start reading The Silver Linings Playbook. Recently saw the movie and people were saying the book is vastly different, so it got me curious. But if the Pat from the novel is anything l..."I loved the film. May just have to try the book aswell.
I hve just found this site, althoug I have routinely posted on another Goodreads page. I have just finished the last 2 Lisa Kleypus books. I read, unintentionaly, the 2nd bppl Rainshadow RoadRainshadow Road in 2 days, found the 1st a small book about Christmas Eve, also in 2 days and am ready to read the next one. These are great.
I'm reading Map of the World by Jane Hamilton....So far, it passes the keep on reading test...Has anyone read this? Your thoughts?
Recently finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Gave it 5 stars. Took me awhile to get used to death being the narrator. Now I am reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
I am working on the list of Goodreads Top 100 reads. Both of these books came from that list.
I'm reading When God Was a Rabbit and I don't find it all that captivating. The language is occasionally beautiful, but the scenes shift too quickly to really get into it.
Hi, I'm new to this book club! I'm reading at the moment "The Fault of our Stars" by John Green. I'm about 80% through and what a awesome book!!
