Thank god I'm not he only person who does this!
Jennifer and Mark, hope you enjoy it! It was one of my favorite reads this year. I just started Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. One of the guys I work with recommended it, and I figured I'd try it with Halloween coming up. So far, so good.

I got my ebook version of it from the library last night. Started it this morning. :)
I recently finished A Discovery of Witches. As a rule I don't get very enthusiastic about books with vampires, but I enjoyed it a lot and plan to read the next book in the trilogy. Now I'm reading Let the Devil Sleep by John Verdon. I just love this series.
I finished reading
by Nicholas Sparks a few hours ago. The book was a bit of a disappointment really. I've read most of Spark's books and I think I'm too used to his writing style. I found the plot of the story to be extremely predictable and slighty unrealistic. But if you've never read a Nicholas Spark novel before, you'd probably like it. Now I'm about to start reading
by John Grisham. It's the october monthly read in a Goodreads group I'm in and I want to get a head start on it.

Heartsick was fantastic.
Gary wrote: "Just finished

I am reading Frank McCourt's 'Tis and Rebecca Skloot's The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (HeLa for short) a wonderful book about a poor southern African American woman who had cells taken from a cancerous tumour and distrubuted around the Globe. There was no monetary comps for her family. Sad, but very inspiring!
I'll Put 3 Chips on God - just in case there is one by Preeti Gupta. I won a copy of it on Librarything, and its pretty good so far!
Starting my GoodReads giveaway. Interesting Premise on
. The missing brother turns out to be alive and the guilty/innocent murderer has been released from prison.

I loved Heartsick!! I just bought her third book at a book sale this past weekend, I was excited to read it but It got less than good reviews which bums me out, but for a dollar I can't really complain! lol Heartsick was the best though!
I'm reading a few books right now. Mitt Romney's "No Apology", "The Story" by Max Lucado and "Mrs. Robinson's Disgrace". The first two books are for educational purposes. The third is for pleasure and I'm really enjoying it. The historical points are very interesting in "Robinson". I just learned that in the 19th century, masterbation was considered a mental illness and to "cure" a person of such a disease, it was recommended that they sleep with prostitutes. LOL I just couldn't get over that part!
I've finished reading
by John Grisham last night and this morning I've started
by Christopher Ransom.
Just finished "My Mother Was Nuts" by Penny Marshall (It was better than I'd thought it would be) and started "A Pallid Waste" by Mike Elton.

The seat of the disease was the womb. The play was hysterical because even the Doctors had no idea of what type of "relief" they were offering.
For a change I'm only reading one book, The Story of Lucy Gault which is sad and rather depressing. I'm waiting on the digital library for A Clash of Kings and Dead in the Family which is why I've only got one book going right now.
Just finished reading 'The Chemistry Between Us: Love, Sex, and the Science of Attraction' by Larry Young. The book explores the biology and chemistry of everything from gender identity (and sexual orientation) to love (and parenting) to monogamy (and infidelity), taking us inside our bodies to investigate the genes and hormones that influence our approach to love, sex and relationships. The book is very illuminating (and advances the most interesting theory that I have ever encountered regarding why the male phallus and female breasts are both so large). I've written an executive summary of the book available here:http://newbooksinbrief.wordpress.com/...
Cheers,
Aaron
I started Ghosts of the Titanic by Charles Pellegrino. I only read the first chapter this morning, but it packed quite the emotional punch, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Finished
by Daniel Silva. It was a great book and the first inthe Gabriel Allon Series. I'll be reading more of them. Today I started
by Michael Palmer.
I just finished Odd Thomas. I liked it but I knew what was going to happen at the very end so that kind of took away from my enjoyment a little. Now I'm going to start 12.21: A Novel.
Claire wrote: "Body Double - Tess Gerritsen"This is a fantastic book. I read it a number of years ago. I have read all the Tess Gerritsen books and she is one of my favorite authors. Enjoy.
'The Moral Molecule'. A popular science book which claims we're pre-programmed to want to cooperate, help and trust each other...radical stuff in this day and age! Convincing, though, and really interesting.
I'm reading 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.s Lewis. I read the first two books of this series when I was a kid and I forgot what a joy they were.

Reading Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore,
Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff and
Pride and Prejudice. Just finished Talking to the Dead by Harry Bingham.

Matthew, how is Mr. Penumbra's? It just came onto my radar a few days back, and it seems pretty interesting.

I'm only about 50 pages in, but it is good so far. I tend to like character driven novels better than plot driven, and I suspect this is the latter (I like basically good but slightly messed up main characters, which is why I would probably choose the Bingham book even though it isn't as "literary").
I gave up on
. It just wasn't grabbing me. I'm now reading
, which has been on my bookshelf for about 10 years now, so figured it was time to read it.!
Reading Cold Kiss (Cold Kiss #1) by Amy Garvey, got it off free nook friday a few weeks ago and so far it's kept me intrigued. A little different

Just finished reading More Than Enough by D.C. Renee and it's a must read! I highly recommend it! Can't wait for the 2nd book to come out!More Than Enough

My daughters and I have 6 different library cards. Sometimes this gets confusing (!). My youngest (16) had a library fine and when she found out about it in front of me she said "but in my defense, I could have worse habits!!" lol!

Me and my daughter love libraries. + to huge access to books and audio books there are so many interesting programs and so many interesting stuff going on there. We just came home from library, we were picking up
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer for my 10y and just hang up there for a while and my daughter sign up for some reading program to get a badges - you can read 10 books in one specific area (fantasy, reading about the world, realism fiction and so on so on) and she will got badges for each area she took folder to fill in. Isn't this cool?
