I'm about 4/5ths through Stephen Kings', 11/23/63 ,and inhaling the atmosphere of the times and feeling absorbed into the characters. It's almost 2 in the morning and I don't want to quit.

I've just finished Shadows of the Past. I'm about to start Shadow Boxer and Murder Takes Time. I didn't purposely choose two shadows in a row either.
Have finished Gone Tomorrow
(and am now out of Reacher until a new one comes out, dammit); Very Valentine
(at least there are two more to go in this trilogy so I'm not entirely bereft); Skirting the Grave
(love this series but found this one harder to follow than the others for some reason. One to go here before I'm stuck waiting...); The Sins of the Fathers
(I'm rereading this series-- not by accident-- but it turns out I'm reading them in order, which is ENTIRELY by accident!) all within the last week or so. So now I'm in the middle of Time to Murder and Create
and Days of Splendor, Days of Sorrow
. Been awhile since I picked up a European historical royalty read.

Have just finished I Will Plant You a Lilac Tree: A Memoir of a Schindler's List Survivor, not quite up to expectations ... just started The Fault in Our Stars EXPECTING EXPECTING!!!
I finished The Lies of Locke Lamora. I enjoyed the book but for some reason it just took me forever to finish it.Now I'm reading Seed. Enjoying it so far.
I've just finished Catherynne M. Valente's "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making", which is kind of a cross between "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wizard of Oz". (Highly recommended if you enjoy reading fantasy). Now I'm part of the way through Elizabeth Wein's "Code Name Verity", which is also pretty good so far.

Currently listening to Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand and reaDing I, Michael Bennett. I have too many books here from the library but what's a girl gonna do.
I just finished reading The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty and as much as I love a good dom/sub romance this wasn't for me. I thought I had read it all but I was wrong, so wrong! I am the type of person that once I start a series I have to finish it, I have to see it through all the way to the end even if it's not exactly my cup of tea. This book took dom/sub relationships above and beyond anything I've ever read before but then again I have to consider the source, this was the woman responsible for Interview with a Vampire. I'm not one to talk badly about any book there are redeeming qualities to any book I think but this went beyond what I could handle for my taste anyway.

Finally had the guts to read
's Haou Airen Series. I do love this series but I did not like the ending. It's a tearjerker for me... but I finally completed reading this series. Right now, am still reading
. So far so good... Looking forward to the ending....
I finished Into Temptation by Penny Vincenzi. I enjoyed this series. I think the second book was my favorite but overall it was an entertaining family saga. This morning I started a free e-book I got called I Am Alive by Cameron Jace.
Linda wrote: "Just started

Just finished
. This was a typical but enjoyable Sean Dillon series read although dillon was not as active in this book as Daniel Holley. I'm going to start
by Camilla Lackberg today.
I am reading MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL by John Berent for my face to face book club. Have never read it but have heard good things about it.
Ann from S.C. wrote: "I am reading MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL by John Berent for my face to face book club. Have never read it but have heard good things about it."I read this years ago and really liked it- about a year later I made the effort to go to savannah. Beautiful city!
Ann and Jennifer, I loved this book when I read it and wanted to visit Savannah but as of yet haven't been there yet. I'm glad you got to go Jennifer. Berent made it sound like such an interesting and quirky place to live or visit.
"I imagined I heard a slow, steady drumbeat wherever I went." -- the character of Marie Antoinette in Days of Splendor, Days of Sorrow as things begin to deteriorate. What. A fabulous. Line.
Hi, I just started "Gone Girl" yesterday, so far it is very good. I love Flynn's writing style. This is my first novel by her. I finished "Bloodroot" yesterday. It was a very good read. I will start Philippa Gregory's newest book, " The Kingmakers Daughter" as soon as I finish Gone Girl. I love book recommendations, if anyone wants to tell me about a book they read recently and loved, please let me know!

Finished two today: A Stab in the Dark
as part of my rare-for-me reread of Block's Scudder series, and Days of Splendor, Days of Sorrow
, the second in Grey's Marie Antoinette trilogy, wherein Marie starts wending her tragic, hapless way toward doom.
I just finished People of the Book. What a great book and good story, good writing. I recommend it highly. I am now starting Gone Girl.
Started four last night/ today: The Dressmaker
, which has already sent me scurrying to Wikipedia to see what fashions by Lucille looked like; Murder With Puffins
, which is the second in a cozy mystery series that I read the first of several months ago; Sand Sharks
, which is one of two or three later books in this series that remain as part of my "batting cleanup" project, and Eight Million Ways to Die
, next in my series reread of the Scudder books. Hoping to race through a couple of these mysteries because I really want to read Gone Girl
and Rules of Civility
.
Half Broke Horses Engrossing story. If it gets any better I'll have to move it out of the bathroom. I read her book The Glass Castle and became a fan. A lot of similarities between her mom and my recent circumstances. The author has brains and beauty.

I really liked her grandmother, she was quite a lady.
I finished Seed last week. I really enjoyed it.Then I started The Black Dahlia. I like the beginning but I didn't get much read over the weekend.
I've been enjoying a couple of children's books:Instructions: Everything You'll Need to Know on Your Journeyand The Griffin and the Minor Canon. Both teach great life lessons and have terrific art! I'm rereading False Colours while working on reading The Violinist's Thumb: And Other Lost Tales of Love, War, and Genius, as Written by Our Genetic Code.
I've just finished The Descendants and it was rather a lovely read. I'm now reading The Art of Happiness
