Wow guys, I am reading The Avian Gospels and it is really good. It's about a city that is living under a plague of birds, and a father and son who can control them... Loving it so far.

Also listening to the AudioGo version of The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim - its sad but also kinda funny at the same time. Really liking this one!

I've tried to start this book about three times, having a very difficult time getting into it. I feel like it would be good if I could just get past a certain point. Problem being, I don't know where that point might be! First book I bought for my kindle, so I can keep trying. :)

The first part of the book is hard to get into but once you get there it is worth it! The second book in my opinion was the best. Honestly stick with them they are very good reads.

Ashleigh (plathheart84) Im reading 'When god was a rabbit' by Sarah Winman. Im really enjoying it. Its about a brother and sister, a coming of age type. I adore the writing style though and have had a few laughs and a few tears already and Im only half way through. I would definately recommend it to you all. :D

It took me the third try before I finished the book. anyway from my perspective once you get past page 100 you will find it a book you don't want to put down. Part two the girl who played with fire catches you from page one. Good luck.

tiasreads Started Jurassic Park yesterday and am loving it! So far the plot follows the movie pretty closely, but the book offers a lot more of the science behind paleontology, cloning, etc. There's a fairly simple explanation of chaos theory that's great.

Oh gosh, I just read what I wrote and realized what a nerd I am!

David (author-guide) | 6 comments The Art Of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker

I'm new to this group, but want to share a new title for your consideration as your NBB. I read The Art of Hearing Hearbeats about six months ago. It was just released in the US by Other Publishing. This is an amazing story about life, relationships, acceptance and a love that survives beyond all obstacles. It is truly a humbling and moving story.

Now, the disclaimers...
1. I work for Oceanview Publishing as the marketing and publicity manager. I have no association with Other Publishing.
2. I have met the author, Jan-Philipp Sendker. He is a warm, humble and friendly man who is incredibly gifted in the art of writing.
3. I am extremely jealous of my counterparts at Other. They get to market this wonderful book!

Beth During my recent vacation to Mazatlan, along with scouring the galley proofs for Wicked Eddies for errors, I managed to read 2 mystery books while lounging by the pool or ocean. I enjoyed Carolyn Hart's Engaged to Die, and I very much enjoyed Nancy Pickard's The Whole Truth. In fact, I put the other two titles in that series on my to-read list, and my husband is reading THE WHOLE TRUTH now.
