You are making me jealous. I love to meet authors and Julie writes some great mysteries!

Brenda Klaassen (librarymom23) I started SNAKE SKIN, last night because I needed a break from Great Expectations. I did read a chapter in a deciding what color looks best on you at noon yesterday, but I left book at work so I can't tell you the title. I hope to finish at least one book this weekend.

Linda Linda wrote: "Just finished Blood Memory by Greg Iles and gave it a 3.6. Better in the end than in the beginning. But I guess that is what you might want in a mystery." I've read several of Iles's books. I liked them all. I have a pet peeve about titles that tell you nothing about what the book is about so I am not sure which one Blood Memory was but I'm sure I read it.

I'm about half way through and the story is very good. It's definitely about some hard-knock lives in Appalachia. I'm hoping there's a little redemption... I'll let you know what I think when I'm done!

I just started The Oracle of Stamboul and am really liking it, too. It's proving to be a very quick read, probably because of how much I'm liking it!

Finished re-reading The Likeness right before that... I thought I might have missed something the first time through. Still enjoyed it -- I really like Tana French!

I had the same exact experience. The Fiery Cross was a bit slow and have had a hiatus prior to A Breath of Snow and Ashes which I still haven't read (but own and plan to read).

message 24446: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinlf) | 15 comments I've just started The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht, which is great so far. I'm excited about this one, having read so many good reviews.

I just finished up The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, a fictional account of the marriage of Ernest Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley. They are both such flawed individuals, but the story is really interesting, particularly if you're a Hemingway fan.

I also recently read A Red Herring Without Mustard by Alan Bradley. It's the third in the Flavia De Luce series. I'm not much of one for serialized fiction or for most mysteries, but these books are so charming and engaging.
