I am almost done with Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. I don't want it to be over. I love it so far.. I love any books about animals.

The Stephanie Plum books are my top favorites. I just love her, and her grandma. There are some books that were iffy, I think it was 5 or 6, I cant remember, but this is one series of books that doesn't go drastically down hill after the first one or two. I loved them. I still have one or two more to read and i'll be finished with them. Keep going with the books, you'll love them!

I'm actually not far into it yet, so I can't say much, but when I started last night I had a hard time stopping.

Started with "London" and have thoroughly enjoyed the first 175 pages of this book. Many call Rutherfurd the successor to James Michener and I can definitely see the similarities in style in storytelling.

Thanks, Blaine. So far I am enjoying it, although I'm only on page 56.

Clara I would say that if it intruiges you go for it! I don't regret reading it at all and it was really interesting. I also learned an incredible amount just by reading it. Like a college smester or two worth of information. It was just extremely dense and the pacing was all over the place, but I think it was worthwhile in the end. It really gave me a ton of food for thought.

I'm planning on getting Room let me know what you think of it everyone seems to be reading it at the moment"
I read Room last month and really liked it and I heard the author speak and say she based it on a real case in Vienna, Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter captive for 21 years and she had some childre with him and they never saw the outside world in all that time. John Glatt, a true crime writer wrote about the case and I read his book after I read Room. I could definitely see similarities.

I'm literally just about to start reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It's sitting here in my bed next to me, taunting me, but I made myself update all my threads and finish my review before I started. I'm SO excited!

I know it's been said by just about everyone out there, but I will say it again. If you haven't read it yet. DO IT!
I want the other book that she has out about him also.
I don't know what I want to start next, but I want it to be a light read.. something that I wont be gushing tears over all night! =P

I loved this book too!

I very much enjoyed "The Jungle" when I read it a couple of years ago. Very compelling read.

The few short reviews I've read have mostly said it is such a depressing book. 100 pages in, I can see why but yet there is such hope. I have difficulty putting it down but I have to sleep sometime. (Sometimes, like now, I really wish I didn't have to, heh.)

I hope you enjoy it ALicia! I had to drag myself through the book and it took me about a month, while just before I remember I read a brik of a book in less than two weeks. It ison my very short lsit of books I absolutely don't like.

hey just bought Room yesterday and read your review definitely will give it a try thanks alot :))))))))))))

kristin, i just read Dewey last month for our library book group. we all thought it was OK, but did you know they are making a movie out of it? i believe that Meryl Streep is to be playing the librarian. just a little FYI!

The few short reviews I've read have mostly said it is such a depressing book. 100 pages...
LOL Susanna, I know what you mean, lately I've been missing a lot of sleep!
This is a depressing book but it changed the industry as we know it today. It caused quite a stir in the day. Hope you end up enjoying it.

Loved both of these books Betsy. Pillars is long in pages but they seemed to just fly for me.

I am now fascinated by a non fiction account, well written, Poorly Made in China: An Insider's Account of the Tactics Behind China's Production Game which I just started.

Thank you. I can go ahead and read it but not now. I am now reading The Kitchen House and The Knitting Circle.

Or skim quickly :)

It's a non-fiction about the disappearance of the settlers in 1587.

Yes! I loved that one also!
