Any suggestions of mystery writers?

Did you think it went on for too long when she changed from present time and went back? I keep wondering when and how the change to normal will happen!!!

I have seen him already in other things and can really not imagine him as Rebus. Ken Stott just seems the perfect image for his character. And his partner in the serie does it great too i think.
I am reading The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty. I read alot of the reviews on here and they werent do great, but I am rather enjoying the book.
Catherine wrote: "Selena, are you enjoying Coraline? This is my first Gaiman. "I loved Coraline! I even read it in one day LOL!
Well...I added The Loop to my TBR list...BUT I checked, and the library has it...I have $10 I have to pay before I can check anything out though, haha. I forgot to take my books back before I left for Christmas.I'm glad you like it! I'm trying to time it so I'll be finishing up a book Friday night so I can start ICTC.
Marisa, that's so cool! I've only been reading a few pages at a time while I've been working on my thesis, but I love it.
Allison, how do you manage to read so fast? Everytime I look you're on a new book. I can only manage 2 books tops a week for some reason.
Well, I'm moving right along this week because my husband is gone on a business trip...and the only kid we have is a dog, so my time is pretty free. Also, my New Years Resolution was to stop watching mindless TV and read instead...so sometimes I read like 2 hours at night.
Makes sense. I hope I didn't offend you by asking. I'm looking for tips on how to read faster. I haven't been watching as much TV as I use to, but I still manage to find things that distract me from reading (like the Internet).
Reading 1984 and I am completely blown away by it. I can't believe I made it this far in life wihout reading this.

Yes since pretty much all TV anymore IS mindless, it's easy to skip it! I had the same resolution as you Allison, and I'm with you all the way. Reading time is never wasted time, as TV is IMO lots of the time.
Allison wrote: "No, I'm not offended! I actually am a really fast reader...I just feel stuck up saying that. LOL!"Remember this is the woman who got thru the whole Outlander series in what - like a week ??? She is a crazy fast reader.
I just started a book last night for my when I wake up in the middle of the night and need to go back to sleep book on my MP3 player? This one kept me awake! It is definitely not a sleepytime read.Whiskey Sour, the first in the Jack Daniels series. Jack Daniels is short for Jacqueline Daniels, police detective. Terrific start - I hope the rest of the books are this good.
One night and I'm on chapter 12 already.
Just started Mystic River and I am loving it... I seen the movie when it first came out and now I want to watch it again.
I'm just starting FOOL by Christopher Moore. I just finished a complex, tense thriller so this book is the perfect antidote.
That's the brand new one right Dorie? I wonder if it's anything like Dirty Job. That one was really funny. I"m reading the Stupidest Angel now and it's not as funny or even as interesting.
I needed a book with Angel in the title for the Challenge, so I figure it may be better than lots of other books I may have read for that task. So it's okay. And the guy performing the audio version is pretty good, which helps.
Laura, yes this is Moore's newest and I can only hope it's as good as Dirty Job. I've read most of his, including The Stupidist Angel. That was enjoyable but I think not his best. Some of his are better than others. But I really needed a light, funny read so I have high hopes for this one.
OK Bookpusher, enough from you. AT AT AT ! Gonna call you BP BP BP! It's too late, I've committed to Stupidest Angel but eventually I'll read the AT's, I think .... in time, in time, my British pal.Moore is still a little too crude for me sometimes, but he is funny.

Operandi wrote: "I just finiished The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I am starting Paragon Walk by Anne Perry."Operandi - I've been enjoying your comments on the Road in the SciFi and Fantasy Book Club!
Will finish Skin Privilege - Karin Slaughter today. Then will read Keys to the Kingdom: Mister Monday - Garth Nix.
Jessica wrote: "Finally finished up with Love in the Time of Cholera and am now onto The Audacity of Hope."How did you like Love in the Time of Cholera? Have it on my TBR list!
Jessica wrote: "Linda, I read The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes last year and really enjoyed it. It was a great book."Jessica, I can't get over how I just happened to see this one in Target and for some reason it called out to me. Glad it did. Also, very glad to hear someone else thinks so.
Jeane wrote: "C.j. wrote: "Thought I'd stop lurking and say hi.I'm reading Harlan Coben, The Innocent. My reads tend to be various thriller and mystery writers since I am a writer myself. I'm really enjoying..."
Carol O'Connell - Find Me
Down River - John Hart
True Evil - Greg Iles
I have just started Shadow in the Wind and just love it. I can tell it's going to be fantastic.
I needed a good book because I feel like I have read two duds in a row.
I'm curious about Outlander hmmmm.... I'll read that one as soon as I'm done with Wind.
Kim, you'll love Shadow of the Wind (I hope)! It quickly became one of my favorite books.Outlander...probably above and beyond almost anything I have read in years. I push these books like drugs to basically everyone I meet.
I've just finished Dubliners for the 2nd time around, really enjoyed it once again. I'm about to start a Gothic novel called The Monk, as I need to have it read by next Wednesday.

My first rebus book (Ian Rankin) but just great. I loved the series on tv and the books are just as great. "
There is a series on TV? Gotta get cable again someday...."
I think they have run it on BBC America in the past.
