Hi, Donna, I've followed your blog. Anything about new authors is fascinating to me. Nice to meet you.

Red Hippocamp - The Betrayals of Grim's Peak
Hi guys,
I have 2 books out. You can check them out here -

My wife and I live on a sailboat. We've been cruising the islands of the Eastern Caribbean since 2004. Before that, we spent 4 years exploring the U. S. East Coast and the Bahamas.
We keep a sailing blog, http://www.voyagesoftheplayactor.blog... for anyone who wants a look at our life as sea gypsies.

Hi Charles,
I just wanted to say I love the term 'sea gypsies'. Very cool. Nice to meet you, and I'm looking forward to writerly chats.

My name is Marta Szemik, a newb indie. I just published Two Halves end of November and now as any Indie I'm working on the marketing :) I just found IBC yesterday and have been going through the site until now. So wonderful to see successful indies sharing their knowledge. Hopefully I can one day add my 2 cents as well.
Two Halves

Marketing is tougher than writing a book! That's my 2 cents worth.... :)"
I would like to add my "amen" to this one, as well.

Come along for a journey of action, lust, love, rage, and redemption with Ares God of War and Magdalena MacLeod a 1/2 human 1/2 fey woman. Read the reviews here on GoodReads, on Amazon.com and others. Each story in this series is just $0.99 through KINDLE until 12/25. Fall in love with Ares and Alena, they're guaranteed to keep the cold winter months steamy. :)

First, you have joined a great group. Beyond this one, I suggest you join groups that specialize in genres in which you like to read or write. In addition, there are a number of groups that specialize in mutual help for Indie author/publishers or in connecting authors and readers. There are many - check the groups listed on the profile pages of other members of this Group. Welcome and good luck!

My name is J.T. Kalnay.
I am the author of eight Indie published novels, and have two works in progress.
I look forward to interacting with the group.

I'm Sandra Ulbrich Almazan. I'm an indie SF/Fantasy writer with one novella, Lyon's Legacy, available as an e-book. I look forward to getting to know other authors and learning more about how the IBC works.

I'm Scott Marlowe and I write fantasy. I've got 2 eBooks out currently and I'm busily working away on a 3rd.
My web site/blog is scottmarlowe.com. I'm also on Twitter at @scottmarlowe. I always follow back writers!
One of my novels, The Hall of the Wood, has gone free on Amazon and--wow--what a wonder that is for "sales". ;-) It's getting about 100 downloads/day right now and just hit the Top 20 in Mythology. It's not making me any money on it, but maybe I'll get some reviews.
Anyway, that's it for me.
Scott

My first short story is The White Housean exploration of a legend about Blackbeard and an incident that occurred at an inn in Beaufort, NC.
I expect to have my next short out in late January.
You can see more about me at my website http://www.meredithstoddard.com/

The Foiled Knight, a romantic thriller, will hopefully come out in 2012.
There's something about being an Indie that jazzes my appreciation of the independent spirit.

Blurb:
Can an untamed lover distract from the desire to bring down the human race?
The unforgivable happens, and a mother’s determination that her little ones blossom becomes an obsession. With a plan and the will, all Settia needs is the means. A lowly hero agrees to help. His price? A moment of fun in the dark. When tendrils tighten and he’s smitten, he’s ready to sacrifice his all to prolong their pleasure. Many sentient creatures lose their heads upon falling in love, yet Settia never expects the glorious aftermath to be quite so painful.
Rebel is a 10,500 word paranormal that’s been labeled undefinable. Sweet romance, yet with adult inneudo.

I recently published a Christian historical novel titled Replenish the Earth.
Years ago I also published a non-fiction work about homelessness titled Caught in the Mix. That one came out via Auburn House, an academic press.
I'm glad to be here, and look forward to meeting you all!

Im looking forward to discovering lots of great new bloggers and books by participating in this group.

I published my first book through Amazon in August 2011. It's a modern thriller novel called "A Shot in the Dark". Though I didn't intend for the book to be a series, by the time I was somewhere near the middle of writing it, I realized that I had more stories in mind for these characters. In fact, I've just started work on the sequel.
I will read just about any genre as long as I find the plot or subject matter interesting. I have many influences in authors, but most of my influences are the are the people around me.
My website is jayleighcape.com.

Additionally, I am an indie author and released my first book, Warrior's Song last year. Warrior's Song won a Readers Favorite award in the Paranormal Fiction category last year. I am currently working on the second installment of the series and hope to release it in April.

Website: www.ceciliagaerlan.com.

Thank you!!

I've wrestled alligators, climbed mountains, and swum distances that boggle the mind. Before crowds of hundreds I have engaged in epic sword fights while educating my opponents and the audience alike about the wonders of cold-blooded creatures. I spend my days scowling at the thrice-cursed sun that hangs over California and wishing for a nice, comfortable fog. Or rain! Yeah... that'd be cool... And, apparently, I've written a book about none of those things. Except maybe the rain.
So if you like some humor, fantasy, and Heisenberg uncertainty principles in your sci-fi, check out my first book, Wind-Scarred. I've been told on several occasions that it isn't horrible!

Right now I'm working on my 2nd part to my security book as well a 2nd book to my One Sock children series.

It is fantastic to meet everyone!

I was just starting to get my feet wet in traditional publishing with a couple short stories before this whole indie thing blew up. I also podcast and blog. Goodreads/DavidWallaceFleming
Always interested in comments, suggestions and reviews!

I wrote for decades before deciding to self-publish something last year. I've made steady increases in sales since August and January sales have already more than doubled December's, so it looks like this will be my new career. Thank goodness. I love being a full-time writer.
I do most of my interacting with readers via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/kallypsomasters. (I just haven't had much luck figuring out how to use Goodreads as a means of communicating with readers. Usually I get my hand slapped for promoting--so I just don't join discussions much.) I also blog at kallypsomasters.blogspot.com.
Now I want to discuss this new deal with Goodreads making us "rescue" our books if they came from Amazon. I'll try and find the appropriate forum here to do that!
Kally

I write/self-pub Urban Fantasy and Sci-Fi e-books with a persistent dark humor streak. Stuff in the same vein as Good Omens and Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal.
Looking for lively communities to join, this seems like a good one. Cheers!

Thanks for including me in this group!

Nice to meet everyone! Can't wait to chat.

My name is Gail Kavanagh, I am an independent publisher and author, and I help a couple of other indies with their promotion (not professionally!) I have several books available at Lulu, and a collection of short stories at Kindle, Lulu and Smashwords. This is being offered for free download until Feb 29 at http://gailkav.wordpress.com/download...
I love Goodreads and have quite a few book reviews under my belt, but I really want to get more involved with the community, so I'm starting with my favorite genre!
I am always hopeful of learning something new about marketing and promotion.
