Cassandra, I went to your site, created an account, and left without buying. Your app is not in the Kindle Fire ((Android) store and I was not sure what to do next. I'm not a tech wizard nor an Internet newbie, but trying to deal with downloading from Tantor's site made me feel stupid and inept. The home page is very cluttered and unwelcoming. And even though Tantor produces a lot of romance there is no romance tab in the search menu. I'd love to take advantage of your sale but don't know how.

I haven't purchased directly from Tantor although I did spend some time last night trying to do so. I ended up searching through all authors which was time consuming. A search by author also requires me to know all romance authors before beginning the search. I don't have the luxury of discovering someone new. I'd like to second Diana's indirect request for a romance category. Tantor has so many to choose from that could also be cross referenced from other categories.
Please give us a romance category!
I'm going to third this request. I HAVE bought from Tantor before but it was very time consuming trying to find what I wanted.
I did take advantage of the sale and got some audios that I'd been on the fence for. A romance category WOULD be good.Diana - the audio downloads from Tantor are straight MP3 files. You need to have a micro-usb cable (sold sep.) or app like WiFi File Explorer PRO to load mp3s to your fire from your computer. Also, you could easily listen on an ipod or other mp3 player. Great site for Kindle Fire
OK, for those who are planning to listen to On Thin Ice - hope this tickles your fancy...http://soundcloud.com/xe_sands/becomi...
Vic wrote: "Loved that link Xe! And it wasn't really on my radar but it might be now. ;)"Aw, thanks Vic! If you listen, hope you enjoy it. If you've read the rest of the series, you'll appreciate the little cameos for many of the past heroes (and Peter Madsen gets to have a supporting role in this one).
OK, for those who are planning to listen to On Thin Ice - hope this tickles your fancy...OMG Xe, that Finn taste was absolutely delicious!!
Thanks for the Kindle Fire link Vic. The problem isn't getting audiobooks on to the Fire, simple drag and drop to music or adding from Dropbox type Apps works. The problem is that Amazon didn't add any audiobook support outside of Audible.
So there isn't a setting to make the Fire see an MP3 book as an audiobook, thus no auto-resume. Nor are there manual bookmarking abilities with straight MP3 audiobooks.
I did sideload Akimbo and it is an impressive audio-bookmarking App that is working smoothly on the Fire with my MP3 books ... but really, Amazon should have provided support for audiobooks outside of Audible or provide Apps that do so IMO.
I see that that could be an issue. Since I always just listen to my books on the ipod, I haven't run into this issue.Apps I'm now addicted to on my Fire: Angry Birds, Jelly Defense and Fruit Ninja. These are the apps I play when I'm listening to an audio book and I don't feel like doing anything productive. :-D

So glad you like him, naughty bit o'man that he is ;)
Since I always just listen to my books on the ipod, I haven't run into this issue.I don't want the Kindle Fire to be my full time audiobook player, I prefer small and portable, but I do think it should have the ability, or have the Apps easily available to make it able, to play personally owned MP3 books.
The mention of Angry Birds made me laugh. I let my 6 yr old grandson play with my Fire without thinking about the 1 click option. I'm now the proud owner of each version of Angry Birds there is - time to learn to play. :)
Didn't mean to lose the yummy Finn link with my K Fire grumbling. :OBecoming Finn - Evolution of an Irish Secret Agent

@ Brenda - I e-mailed Kindle support to find out when they would make the tantor audio book app available for the Kindle...they said they are working on it. Try e-mailing them maybe the more requests they get the faster the app will be available to us....
Try e-mailing them maybe the more requests they get the faster the app will be available to us.... Thanks for the tip Nichole, it is the squeaky wheel that gets the oil, we audiobook lovers need to let them know we are waiting. :)
Thanks for all of the feedback ladies. I have taken note of it all and will pass it along, hopefully we will be seeing that Romance genre up soon!If you email service@tantor.com they will be able to better answer app questions. I am afraid that is a little outside of my knowledge box.
Cassie
Romance category has been added!http://www.tantor.com/BookList.asp?Bi...
You can also find it under the categories drop down menu on our site.
Cassandra,I see that Ilona Andrews anthologies are listed under Romance, but the Edge and Kate Daniels series are missing.
Otherwise, thanks to Tantor for the category. Very helpfull.

This is where everyone has their own categories. I would consider edge PNR but Kate Daniels I consider firmly under UF.
I think the new category is extremely helpful. Thanks to the Tantor web team and to you for passing along our comments and getting things done!
With the Ilona Andrews books I'm with you Vic - The Edge series is Romance, with plenty of adventure thrown in, but definitely Paranormal Romance with an HEA at the end of each book.
The Kate Daniel series = UF / with a thread of romance that takes a few books to get off the ground. Great books but the romance lover has to be oh so patient. :)
Thanks for the heads up on The Edge and Kate Daniels series, that should be fixed by tomorrow, if you notice others missing don't hesitate to let me know! And I will pass along your wonderful comments to our IT department :)
Thanks
Cassie
Cassie, can things be cross-listed in different categories? That might help those that blur the lines...
The majority of our titles have more than one genre attached... however not all of our genres are broken out on the categories drop down menu.

Woohoo! So glad On Thin Ice is out :) Finn is just so tasty! And what a lineup you've released this week, Cassandra! Love it.
Also, most of those, if not all of them should be falling under our 50% off Sweetheart Deals sale going on now.
Hi Cassandra, I have been annoying poor Ms Elizabeth Hoyt about releasing her Prince Series in Audio. She explained that while her Prince series is for sale, the production companies usually purchase new books.
I've seen the great new additions Tantor has made to audiobooks.
I am a very big Elizabeth Hoyt fan. I've noticed The Raven Prince on every top 100 list I've found. These books are popular! I would invest in the audiobooks myself if I could.
What can listeners do to get the older books recorded? I know the Prince Series would be a huge success.
Brittany I think you've voiced your request to the right company with Tantor.I honestly think they are the one audiobook production company that has their ear to the ground when it comes to finding the next best books to put out in audio form, no matter the date of release.
They have released several favorite series in the past year that were not "new" to the market....
Prime example, Anne Stuart's House of Rowan series and her last two Ice books - Christine Warren's Other's series - Jessa Slade's Shadows series - Julianne MacLean and Monica McCarty with their Highlanders .... etc, etc, etc.
So lets hope they see the value in that first Hoyt series, it is high on a lot of peoples wish list and would be very popular in audio with the right narrator!

I didn't know Tantor released the House of Rohan series. (I blush) I Listened to those 2x. And I'm finally listening to Visions of Heat and blushing some more. Tantor, Cassandra: thank you for the great books you've brought to us already.
From Jennifer at Tantor - I forgot to mention our romance sale. You might have seen this posted elsewhere, but wanted to remind you that all romance is 50% off through the rest of the month. Great time to stock up on series, get acquainted with new titles, try something different. Even pre-orders are 50% off.
I am bringing your suggestion to our licensing department now. I can't make any promises on if we will pick it up or not, but the Prince series will be looked into.Thank you so much for all of the kind words about Tantor... I will make sure others at work hear your comments!
Newly released:-Heather Killough-Walden's "The Heat" read by Gildart Jackson

Britanny just heard from Elizabeth Hoyt that the Prince series has just been picked up in audio. Can you let us know if you find out it was Tantor?

PS: I downloaded three books from Tantor today. They aren't available on audible yet. I love the site!
I love the Tantor site too and HIGHLY recommend the downloads. It's essentially like buying MP3 CD but being able to download the actual mp3 files instead of getting the CD. I keep an eye on the discounted download list they run for $6.99 an audio.
Yesterday I noticed Tantor has Jennifer Ashley's
as an upcoming audio release - no release date yet - but it's coming. :)

Thank you B! That's great news.
Brittany are you a Cecilia Grant fan? Tantor is going to be releasing her popular
June 11th with Susan Ericksen narrating.
And they are doing a simultaneous audiobook release with her next book
May 29th
Dee the details page at Tantor shows The Duke's Perfect Wife is 9 hours long so you'd think it was recorded already right? But there isn't a narrator named or a release date given - sneaky. :)
