Patrick O'Connor | 73 comments I found out at Capricon a few weeks back that John Scalzi is bringing out a re-done "Little Fuzzy" novel called "Fuzzy Nation" that re-boots H. Beam Piper's story and brings it more into line with 21st-century sensibilities.

Loved the original, but it DOES suffer from much of what Marion Zimmer Bradley was fighting against in her Darkover stories, left from the '50s and earlier.

I'd love to see members re-read the original story, and compare it with Scalzi's, when it comes out in a few months.

Cheers!

Patrick O'Connor
(still the author of the HaChii Concagtenation trilogy, even if nobody has read it!)

stormhawk | 75 comments I love Scalzi, and have been meaning to read Little Fuzzy for YEARS. Might be the opportunity, although I am generally poorly disposed to the idea of remakes and reboots and all that.

I'm looking forward to reading both Little Fuzzy and Fuzzy Nation. You can get the original on the project Gutenberg website, as it's public domain now.

Patrick O'Connor | 73 comments I've heard the Scalzi book will include a CD-ROM with all the original Fuzzy stories on it, as an 'Easter Egg' (apropos of the season...
