Angela | 1934 comments Charity, you are such a slacker :)

message 309: by Charity (last edited Oct 08, 2008 11:07AM) (new)

Charity (charityross) I feel like I have been lately. Sheesh! Sooooooo many books, sooooo little time to devote to them. :-(

I just now got around to watching the adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which had been keeping my point total down.

I'm finishing up Obama's book and my Poe collection, so that should help my cause.

Looks like you're doing well!

message 325: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I guess it doesn't work if I just write my first points down on paper instead of putting them here. I am finally joining too. When i am reading a book (which will normally always be in Italian for the moment) I am going to sue the english title. If tere isn't than I will use it in Italian.

10 points: read a book with a one word title
Pylon by william Faulkner

Waited so long to put that here and only have one book!!!

Question, I am reading Moby Dick and wonder if that counts as reading a book of which the title is a character in the book (don't remember how it was said).

message 326: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1826 comments Welcome Jeane - remember if you read any books back in September that fit the rules they count not just books since you've joined the challenge.

Moby Dick would count for that category - although you would only get 5 points for a big book - you could put it in the read and cook a meal inspired by it i.e. cook a seafood dish then that would make it worth 25 points.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments I had 55 points.

Charity, you decide if Pylon by William Faulkner counts for the ten point (read a book with a one word title) or not, I finished it a week ago.
I think this time I am just going to participate out of curiousity and the next one really going to be in!! :-) It's quite funny.

Marsha One more for 15 points, bringing me to 70... Being Perfect by Anna Quindlen for the Pulitzer Prize winner.

What a sweet, short little book. More like one of her columns with pictures. I'm asking my teenager to read it. I also didn't realize she had won the Pulitzer for her column until I read the bio in the back of the book. A gem full of insight and some decent pointage!

I'll have to read her Short Guide to a Happy Life too.
