Trying to fix it and making it worse!

I feel your pain. I broke my elbow a couple years ago at Skate World and messed up my shoulder and neck in the process. I treated the elbow but never went to pt for the other stuff. It's just gotten worse and worse over time. Now I go to a chiropractor and skip out at my home stretching exercises and have headaches.
It makes me feel old and creaky.

You're lucky that you got the vicodin. I was prescribed percocet which gave me nightmares and/or incredibly erotic dreams, or incredibly erotic nightmares. But, I digress.........

Welcome to old age, otherwise known as the Hateful years.
I have two sets of movements that I'm OK with, walking and eating my pap with spoon.
Anything else requires careful consideration of which way my body will still move without causing too much pain.
I haven't had any luck with quackopractors, but I'd see one, or better yet a physical therapist before surgery.
Montambeau, I'm with you on the stretching. If I don't do my suite of ridiculous stretches ( ridiculous because I have to stretch shit like my neck and calves) then I'm the Tin Woodsman and have to creak over ever so slowly to pick up papers on the desk

Because MRIs are expensive. Let you suffer a couple more weeks and the procedure could be avoided all together.
I hope cortizone helps. It's always been a friend of mine.

Holy shit.

Thats sucks. My husband had a herniated disk in his lower back and had to get Epidural Steroid Injections to help with the pain. They worked for about a week and then he was worse off than before. Then he did months of physical therapy before he finally had surgery. It was better for about a year and then it ruptured again worse than the first time and he had to have surgery again. It was awful. He had so many unnecessary doctor appointments too, really annoying.

Eww I had that problem too. The Epi..."
HAHA
At this point in my life (thanks to my husband) I'm an expert on back injuries/physical therapist/MRI/ etc.
The only thing he really hated going to was the "Pain Management Specialist", who would just give him a shot of cortisone in the spine with a ten-inch needle. I would always try to lighten the situation by making a comment about how uncomortable it must be to take a ten-inch shot to your backside, sometimes he'd laugh, othertimes scowl.
I visit my physician and fork over the co-pay for him to tell me to go see a specialist. Call the specialist and they tell me to go to the Radiologist for X-rays!! WTF!! Can we get to the fucking point already?!
Now, I have this old lady (sweet as could be) asking me to twist my arm in all sorts of different directions so she can take pictures of it. Every single position hurt like a mother fucker! She had difficulty getting a good image of two of the angles, so she took those probably 15 times. She says, "I'm sorry honey. I know that isn't comfortable, but we're almost finished. Hold your breath. Don't move."
I left the x-ray place needing to go see a specialist. My damn shoulder hurts more now than it ever did before. Bastards. I might punch the Specialist in the nose if he gives me some surgery bullshit!
