What do you refuse to read?

The Monkey thread got me thinking about this. I think there are certain books most of us won't read strictly because of content. The first author that comes to mind for me is Edward Lee. I'm kind of a horror guy, but I won't read an Ed Lee unless I find one of the milder ones. He is well known for graphic, GRAPHIC description of rape, torture and murder. For example, there is one rape scene involving a colostomy bag. Then there's the book about the hillbillies who like to create a new orifice with a drill before the rape commences. Yes, there are literal mindf#cks involved. So yes, I can't take graphic violence against women. I know what you're thinking, and you may be right - it's probably because I have girl parts instead of boy parts

Anyway, where do you draw the line?

I only have one line. Child rape. Just the thought of someone visualizing raping a child in order to put it to the page pisses me off.

well, now I've got another addition to my "not going to read" list.

I'm an IT nerd and I refuse to read anime (does that count as reading?). Maybe I watched too much Speed Racer as a kid, but i just can't take that crap seriously.

No kidding. I go into a bookstore and there's 2 shelves worth of real comics and 10 shelves worth of anime. What the hell? It's not enough that we import every damn thing else from Asia, we have to import comics too? There's not enough decent American comics to fill 10 shelves with?
