Sibel Hodge | 46 comments I've got 31 on my Kindle TBR at this moment! Wow! And it's soooo tempting to still buy more! I need more time in the day. How many have you got right now?

message 2: by Gill (new)

Gill (lockwdg) | 49 comments Loads. I keep adding free ones on there when I see them. Don't tend to put paid for ones on until I am actually going to read them though

message 3: by Brandon (new)

Brandon | 82 comments I have 50 to read on my kindle and that does not include classics that are now public domain. About 20 of them are from the BAEN CD's that they distribute with some of their hardbacks.

message 4: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Gentry (authorjennifergentry) | 18 comments Not counting all the free classics I've purchased and have never read, or some of the reference/non-fiction that I've gotten for free (and also never read), I've got about 200 books in my "to read" folder on my Kindle. Most of those are freebies in my favorite genre. I'm sure at some point they will be read. Someday. Well, it might actually take me being stranded on some deserted island, with my Kindle of course, in order for them all to be read. ;-D

message 5: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (welloflostplots) I think I have about 300. I just hope I get to them all one day. LOL

Irene Well Worth A Read I have about 30 that I bought, 5 that authors gave me for review, 3 that I have borrowed, and 20 something freebies that I downloaded at smashwords that all need TBR.... and yet I can't stop myself from looking for more.

message 7: by Sibel (new)

Sibel Hodge | 46 comments That's the trouble - it's sooo addictive! :)

message 8: by Wonderkell (new)

Wonderkell | 12 comments I've got about 325 on my GR list, but of course not all of them have been bought. I think I need to stop or I will never decide what I want to buy next!! But GR is so great for coming across books that you might never actually see or hear of otherwise, especially if you live in a rather small Aussie city like me.

message 9: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (atekayla) | 5 comments 147 on my Kindle, but 226 on my GR list (not all the books on my Kindle TBR list is on the GR list though)

message 10: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 542 comments 300 or so. I do not have to download another book for ages, but then something shiny will present itself and whoops, there I go, clicking again.

message 11: by Ginger (new)

Ginger I have about 250 & that doesn't include the free classics (put those on a SD memory card to read later). Now, if I can stay away from the freebie site, I just might actually put a dent in them!! :)

I've got about 100 on my device, plus some on my computer and in the archive. I can't resist purchasing free books. =P

message 13: by Weenie (new)

Weenie | 55 comments I made a new year's resolution not to have more than 2 'paid for' TBRs on my Kindle at any one time...so far I've kept to this! Willpower of steel! Ok, I as soon as I've read a book I buy another one but I'm in control!

But how many free ones are on there? =P

message 15: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (sweetdenial) | 11 comments **gasps** im afraid to look LOL! have 273 on Kindle and 301 on the nook. Yes, they are so addictive..

message 16: by Weenie (new)

Weenie | 55 comments Ralph wrote"But how many free ones are on there? =P "

Ah well, I didn't place a restriction on myself on those but I reckon if I look for free books, I'll be tempted to buy non-free ones! :-) At the moment, there are 3 free ones on there, so just 5 in total!

message 17: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (readingwithmargaret) relief, sigh....so glad that I am not alone here. I just got my kindle for Christmas and have over 200 books and most of freebies. I am forcing myself to read one freebie for every paid one (sometimes I do and sometimes I don't :)

message 18: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisah1301) I am losing track! I decided initially to have folders putting my books into genres. This was okay at the time, but I am forgetting which books I've read.
What do others do with their TBR's?

Any duplicates in those numbers?

message 21: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (sweetdenial) | 11 comments stormhawk wrote: ."Any duplicates in those numbers?"

Nope. i keep diff genres on each reader. Its just a TBR-mountzilla of books **sighs**

message 22: by Clare K. R. (new)

Clare K. R. (clare-dragonfly) I... I don't know! I organize my collections by genre, and there are a few books I've read in each genre collection (except "Other"), so I can't tell exactly how many are unread. It's definitely over fifty but below 100, though. (I have 125 books on my to-read on Goodreads, and quite a few of those are paper books.)

Cindy (newtomato) Lisa wrote: "I am losing track! I decided initially to have folders putting my books into genres. This was okay at the time, but I am forgetting which books I've read.

I've got currently-reading, read, and to-read folders, as well as some genre folders. So, even though I can't see an intersection of to-read and sci-fi, for example, I at least can see all the folders checked for a given book. I've also got all my unreads categorized here at GR, so it's easy to see if I already have a copy of a book on my to-read.

It's not great, but it works okay. I also try to leave books I've finished at the last page, so the little dark pips on the homescreen are at 100%. Admittedly that's not so successful, because I frequently go back and search my books for stuff and forget to put it on the last page.

message 24: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy (chrissyp) | 5 comments right now 35! and I have a bad 1-click habit! I can't help myself!

message 25: by Traci (new)

Traci (highxflyer) | 33 comments I have 3 pages of books waiting to be read. I'm slowly getting through them though so I'm sure I'll have the list down in no time.

message 26: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherschultz) Christine wrote: "right now 35! and I have a bad 1-click habit! I can't help myself!"

I know what you mean! I grab almost all the free ones which puts my TBR at over 700. I just can't stop clicking:)

message 27: by Bj (new)

Bj Hunter (bjhunter) | 41 comments I have about 30 right now, and there a many I still want, but I am trying to hold out until summer when we don't have a big heating bill looming over our finances.

message 28: by Gail (new)

Gail Baugniet | 30 comments Great question!
Just got my Kindle recently and have 25 books in my TBR collection, plus 3 months of Ellery Queen Magazines. I also get the daily newspaper from my home state on Kindle and spend most of my morning reading time with the newspaper.

Wonderkell 325; Jen and Stormhawk 300; Ginger 250; and Autumn ... no way!

message 29: by Helen (new)

Helen wow I'm so saintly, I have about 4! I've read 4 too. It is new (said defensively). I've been putting mine in folders as I read them but then I haven't got many on it. I do have a lot of DTBs in the house. I do have to make a dent in them and decide which I will keep and where. I haven't explored free books yet...

message 30: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Hilborne (jfhilborne) | 9 comments The list gets longer by the day, the downloads I added today pushes me to 17 in my TBR, 2 currently being read. I never delete them from the Kindle either.

message 31: by Karen (new)

Karen (thisbookends) | 20 comments I use my iPad to keep track using a great little app I found for library inventory, it's awesome! It allows me to mark them as read, to read, and wish list, that way when I see a book I want I won't duplicate the purchase. I also mark books I've read to the archive in my nook, kindle, and the many ereader apps I have on my iPad so I don't eat up too much memory space.

message 32: by Helen (new)

Helen I've been sorting my paperbacks - I only have 131 to read, I feel so good although clearly its an excuse to spend. Amazon where are you?

message 33: by Karen (new)

Karen (thisbookends) | 20 comments Love amazon and B&N, but really love the freebies from inkmesh.com and netgalley.com.

message 34: by Helen (new)

Helen Will have to check it out.

message 35: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Way too many to count, it would be embarrasing. I also have loads for my Nook (I have both Kindle and Nook -- definitely prefer my Kindle). I have shelves here on GR that is "owned but not read" and "owned Kindle" and "owned nook" and "pre ordered" to help me keep track of what I own and need to read.

Karen I also love inkmesh and netgalley. I also love ereaderiq.com for tracking price drops in Kindle and tracking books to be made available on the kindle.

message 36: by Helen (new)

Helen That sounds a good site Regina. I treated my kindle to 4 books, I'm firmly blaming you lot! Least there is no obvious evidence with e-books!

message 37: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Cotterill (rachelcotterill) I try really hard not to buy things until I'm ready to read them, but if I see a good price I'll go for it :) So at the moment, I have three TBR.

message 38: by Ginger (new)

Ginger Rachel wrote: "I try really hard not to buy things until I'm ready to read them, but if I see a good price I'll go for it :) So at the moment, I have three TBR."

I admire you Rachel!!!!! I had more than that by the end of my 1st day with my Kindle!! LOL

Wow! What willpower you have! I admire you. I had more than that within the first hour of having my kindle! ha ha.

message 40: by Mike J (new)

Mike J (txmensan) | 6 comments I'm the freak... I don't download anything until I'm ready to read it. That was part of the appeal of the Kindle - no need to plan ahead with trips to the book store, or ordering from Amazon! I feel like reading, download a book. I think of it as my personal library - they're always there, just a click away. No need to buy ahead of time. :o)

message 41: by Shadonna (new)

Shadonna | 3 comments Too many to count! LOL.

message 42: by Claire (new)

Claire (cdyard) | 1 comments Gulp! I think I've got 500+ TBR books: a dozen paperbacks, the rest for my iPhone (e-reader) and the Kindle...

message 43: by Todd (new)

Todd Russell (toddrussell) | 11 comments 37, but most are samples so not sure how many of those I'll be taken by enough to purchase.

message 44: by Chris (new)

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) Just hit the 200!

message 45: by Paul (new)

Paul Clayton | 27 comments Well, including my own titles, about sixty. Fifty of those are from 50 Classic Novels (for only $2.99). Vol 1. I probably won't get to Vol 2 till I retire, but that's alright. I'm enjoyng the trip. I also bought about a half dozen other books, two of them by fellow Indie writers. I intend to buy one of Cormac McCarthy's books, and also possibly the latest Follett. I still read in paper too. But I do love my Kindle.

message 46: by Helen (new)

Helen I'm at around 20 now! It's becoming an addiction.

message 47: by Helen (new)

Helen Me too, Peggy. That evil spring sale on kindle and people on here that keep recommending things! Then I think ooh thats only £1.23, ooh so is that etc. Before I know it I've spent a fortune.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Brandon wrote: "I have 50 to read on my kindle and that does not include classics that are now public domain. About 20 of them are from the BAEN CD's that they distribute with some of their hardbacks."

I have quite a few of those as well, along with some of the books from the Baen website and stuff from Gutenburg.......

79 in my TBR list.

message 49: by Junying (new)

Junying I have about 35 on my list, and I'm trying my best to add more until I have reduced this number. Having said that, it's overwhelming how many good books are out there and how little time we have to devour a small fraction of them. I really do wish that I have 10 pairs of eyes and more brain power to do everything including spending more time with Kindle and read books I love!

message 50: by Helen (new)

Helen I keep thinking that I should win the lottery so that I don't have to work, then me and my kindle could read in the sunshine, shop for new outfits, purchase new books that we could love...
