WEEKLY DISCUSSION

This weeks prompt: A lot of public schools are going to school uniforms. What do you feel about school uniforms? Would they be good or bad and why? How would it change SSRHS?

I am currently reading "The Book of Spells."
The main character in my book is Eliza Williams, Catherine White, Therasa Billings, and Alice Ainsworth. Right now they just discovered the "Book of Spells". Its a book will spells and about witchcraft. THey just became witches and have been practicing spells and potions.

The book that I am reading now is called . The main character's name is Russel. He lives in a very cold tundra area like Alaska or northern Canada. Russel has something bothering him, so he goes to a smart man in his village name Oogruk. The book that I would like to win is Stan Musial: An American Life. I don' think that our school should change and make kids wear uniforms. It wouldn't be a good thing because everyone would look a like. It might make kids not want to come because they have to wear a uniform. It would make thing look boring because everyone looks a like.

I am currently reading Twilight and Edward is getting closer to bella. He saved her when she was being followed by some bikers in port angeles and then toke her out to supper. Then he brought her back to her house safely. Edward picks bella up for school everyday. He is planning on taking bella to seattle for the day and bella told her dad shes going by herself and edward wanted her to the truth.

I think we shouldn't have school because i think everybody would complain and just not wear them to school. It would change srrhs alot because students would be wearing the same thing and it would be weird.

WEEKLY UPDATE

This week, I'm reading . Right now, the Reliant has docked at a port with the newly acquired dragon, Temeraire. The main characters are Temeraire, a two-week-old dragon, and Captain Will Laurence, an unlikely tamer of the dragon. I like this book because it doesn't move too fast and the language is written in a peculiar and enjoyable style.

WEEKLY DISCUSSION

I would personally like to keep things the way they are in terms of uniforms at SRRHS. I feel that uniforms are unnecessary and people would only complain about them. It gives people more choice over their lifestyle and taking it away would be like taking away one of their school sports. It would cause more harm than the good it would do.

UPDATE: The book i am currently reading is Crank. Its about a girl who has a dad that is addicted to crack. She falls for this boy who also has a drug addiction, because she is around all these people doing drugs and partying she soon falls into the same mess as her loved ones.

ACTIVITY: I would like to win Insight.

DISCUSSION: Uniforms in school have its pros and cons. The bad thing about it is that people use the way they dress to show their true personality, and if everyone wore the same we wouldn't be able to do that. The good things about it is that people wouldn't be teased for the types of clothes they wear and people would be wearing appropriate attire.

The main characters are Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily. Aria is dealing with her parents' divorce, while she starts seeing her English teacher, and her boyfriend finds out and calls the police. Hanna is recovering from bulimia, Emily's parents have forced her to join a program because she's homosexual and they don't like it. Spencer remembers that the night Ali died, Spencer pushed her into a wall where she hit her head. And they all receive threatening messages, then Hanna realizes who A is, but then she is hit by a car and suffers memory loss.

I am reading: Lindsey is on a chase to find the killer. She knows who he is and where he is, she just has to take him down. Lindsey is the main character of 2nd Chance. She is a very strong minded person, and is very good at her job.

If I had a chance to win a book I would choose "To Begin Again"

I would hate going to school uniforms! I think they would be a waste of money for the school. Everyone would be mad that we had to wear uniforms. I think we would get used to it after a while, but to begin with everyone would be very angry. I know I would be.

I am currently reading
In the book right now, Ronnie has been protecting the turtle eggs outside her house. She called the aquarium to get a cage for them and Will was the one who put up the tape for it. They have started talking. Ronnie is the main character and she is very rebellious and doesn't like being told what to do but inside she is softer.

update: I'm currently reading interview with the vampire Interview With the Vampire in the book Louis is telling the boy bout how him and claudia escaped Lestat and how they were trying to find a place to stay over night and where acting like they were father and daughter and she was asleep and he found out the people there had kept a young lady's body who had passed away and i left off were he was about to find out what they were going to do with her body. The main carecter is Louis he is telling a boyabout his life as a vampire.

I am still reading Twilight. So far Bella has was at her first day of school and she is starting to meet new people. She has made eye contact with a boy who is cute but kind of creepy.

I would like to win the book "Wild Horses, Wild Dreams".

I think if our school got uniforms most of the kids would change schools beacuse they can not wear their own clothes. Also people would be mad beacuse we couldn't show who we really are. Most poeple would just end up wearing their own clothes any way beacause the uniforms would cost to much. I also think that if we did get uniforms kids would just reck them any way.

I am reading: Gary is almost finished with the Iditarod. The main character is Gary Paulsen. Gary is very adventerous and likes to be outside in the wild.

The book I would want to win is "The Patriot Paradox".

If SRRHS went to school uniforms I would be mad. It would be bad because everyone wouldn't wear them so it would be a waste of money. It would change SRRHS a lot because everyone would be wearing the same thing day after day and it would be sort of wierd.

I am reading Ranger's Apprentice Book 1. The main character is Will. He is being trained by a Ranger to be in the army as an archer.

I think wearing uniforms is a bad idea because we would all look the same. I think it would cost a lot to buy a uniform anyway. I think a lot of people would complain about them. The good thing about wearing uniforms is that people will not make of fun of you because of what you are wearing.

I finished: today. I really enjoyed this book. It ended when Brian's hero who wasn't nice to him in the beginning became a good friend to him and his Mom. They both ended up hitting homeruns that greatly benefited the team.

I would strongly dislike to see uniforms come to Sauk Rapids. I think it would be bad because kids would try to find ways around them. More kids would probally get in trouble from this strict policy. I think 90% of this whole school would not want uniforms. I think that some kids would chose not to wear the uniforms and groups together and boycott the uniforms.

I am currently reading:
The bronze and silver dragons have extended an offer to help defeat the red and blue dragons and the dragon highlords before all good is overrun by evil. There are many characters in the book and most of them are warriors of a sort. There are also elves and immense hosts of other creatures such as draconians, gulley dwarves, minotors, kender etc, etc.



I chose Aldric and Annalissa as the book to win.


I do not like the idea of school uniforms because I believe not many people would like the idea of wearing clothing that looks exactly the same every day (I wouldn't mind if it wasn't a rather annoying type of clothing). I would not want to go to school with (even more) irratible people. I believe either grades as a whole would go down because of irratibility or they would go up because the preoccupation with style would be gone, although this would probably flow into hair styles or modifying the uniforms themselves.
