Jeremy yeah jamie sullivan died but the way Sparks wrote the ending teased wonderfully with the flicker of hope in out hearts that there was a happy conclusion. After Langdon repeatedly prays for a miracle for Jamie, the book ends this way: "But this is okay, I smile slightly, looking toward the sky, knowing there's one thing I still haven't told you:I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen."
Yes granted, the miracle was Jamie appearing in Langdon's life and changing him forever. But still I find myself re-reading- looking for clues that Jamie survived despite the obvious staring at me in the face. This was how much Jamie touched my heart with her exemplary character. The only thing Langdon did wrong was to fall in love with her so late.

That was probably one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books! And BTW his name is Landon (not Langdon) :)

hmmmmm?
Maybe but like they did other stuff together!
But like I don't think Landon and Jamie did either?
But the people in nights in rodanthe and in like the Notebook and the wedding the the choice and the Lucky one I think they do?
I think It's cute how ( sometimes) they both cook together but what bugs me is what they do after the cook/eat!

Vickie McKeehan I love Nicholas Sparks' books. But when I pick one of his to read, I always make certain I have a good supply of tissues on hand. Otherwise, I go through a roll of toilet paper.

Jessica Derricott Yes, Someone or even a pet may die in his books. I do have to say though....True Love, or Love period may not always have a happy ending. He is an amazing author and to show the realistic part of love sometimes does not hurt us readers.

Charmaine His books are not usually as tragic as Jodi Picoult - I can't read her books. I read The Shack a couple years ago too and it was incrediably sad...but hopeful at the same time....

Have you ever read books by Lurlene McDaniel? She did Don't Die My Love and it was a really sad book...

Joann(san diego shutterbug) From all the books i have read of his, somebody alaways dies. But they are always good. His books are so sad but they are gripping. 3 weeks with my brother is probally more gripping than any of his other books. I love reading his books.

Patricialogan8 His sister died of cancer

Oh I NEVER knew that... I always wondered why he made his books so sad... but now it totally makes sense like he takes out his "mourning" by writing books that relate to his experiences ! like now it totally makes sense...

Yea. ruth it is like he does that. Read 3 weeks with my brother. Triple sadness in that book but its all real. Its all about his family and how him and his brother are the only two left. very good book hard to find but well worth the hunt.

Kriti | Armed with A Book i think the only book of Nicholas Sparks' that i've read till now in which no died (only nearly died) was 'the choice'.

Shelly Itkin Love all of his books and although they might bring some tears to your eyes they are real life events and I think people do not have trouble relating to them and want more and more
