i'm about to start reading the lord of the rings. and i'm also reading unfinished tales, which is also by tolkien :)
I just started reading 'The Great Gatsby' - I'm trying to catch up with all the classics I should've read but somehow I never did...
Currently reading Persuasion by Jane Austen, on recommendation by my english teacher- she claims it to be her favourite book of all time.
I just started in Virginia Woolfs' Room of One's Own. I managed to get my hands on a couple classics and put them on my e-reader.
I just started reading This World We Live In. It's the third book in Susan Beth Pfeffer's Last Survivors Trilogy and the first two books were really really good-- and not your typical YA dystopian/triology with a terrible love triangle either.
I'm reading Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. It's school required but I really like it. Plus, it's on the Rory Gilmore book list. ^_^
I am always reading many books at once. I enjoy listening to an audiobook while I am driving home from work, and right now in my car it's Going Rouge: An American Life by Sarah Palin. She is reading it, so it's really interesting hearing about her life through her voice. At home, I am reading Catching Fire and loving it! And just like Lauren Graham, I carry a book in my purse, so at work on my breaks I am reading The Time Travelers Wife.
I'm reading Lisa See's book, Shanghai Girls. It goes deep into the cultural change and rift in Shanghai just before WWII. REads well and fairly fast. Interesting topic, since i just returned from Shanghai!
I just started reading Restless by William Boyd and so far I'm really enjoying it. Haven't seen the BBC mini series yet but I will most definitely look it up once I finish reading the book :)
I finished
and I liked it! I think everyone who likes China and Chinese history, or a simple generation'ed' biography - would enjoy it.Now I am reading
, which I'm reading in small sessions, because reading it all is hard.
I am reading three books all at once right now, I'm reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire I am reading Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift and lastly I'm reading Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
omg i was JUST talking about that book in another thread, is it good? We were discussing how it is one of Rory's favorite books, which makes me really want to pick it up! But I've also heard that it is suuuuper hard to get through, so idk. I'm nervous haha
I came to the start of the book thinking it would be a challenge to get through. But I'm actually finding it rather like a walk in the park.Hope that answers ur Q!
I'm reading Fruit of the Lemon by Andrea Levy and I've just started The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson on audio.
Hey everyone ^^ currently I'm reading "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke and the second book in the The Song of Ice and fire searies by George R. R. Martin "A Clash of Kings" :)
Ana- I have talked to SO MANY people and gotten about a zillion recommendations to read that book! Let me know if it is any good, please? :)
I'm actually following a Rory Gilmore book list that I found and am just finishing The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn :) Next up is Rosemary's Baby. And I'm glad to see people reading the ASoIaF series here :) I finished the fifth book a little while ago and am eagerly waiting for more...
Oh, which one? :D I'm following the Black, White & Read one. I just finished Huck Finn and got Rosemary's Baby and Moby Dick from the library :)ASoIaF is the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin.
It's fantastic. I reccommend it :)

Just finished Rosemary's Baby now. Time for Moby-Dick, right after I quickly read The Graveyard Book so that I hit 10,000 pages read this school year, before I go on holidays..

I just started reading Brideshead Revisited and I'm really enjoying it so far. I saw the film (2008) last week and I loved it.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I intend to! I've been thinking of watching all the films along with the books I read from Rory's list... But so far I've only watched On the Road. We'll see how that goes :DOh, Brideshead Revisited is great! I loved it. Have you seen the TV series? I don't think I've seen the whole thing, but what I did was great as well. And I love the book. I've been intending to reread it at some point.
I myself am now reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville. Started today and read 106 pages, so going well :) I'm surprised by how easy it is to read... at least for me. Loving it so far.
Reading newest David Sedaris book (Let's Talk About Diabetes with Owls). I just finished Caitlin Moran's books and I couldn't help but think Rory would love her. Feminist journalist with massive movie/music knowledge? Yes please!

Oh, I still have to see the mini-series! I heard a lot of people really enjoyed it as well :) and the book is something I can see myself re-reading in the future, it's really beautiful.
Glad to hear you're enjoying Moby Dick :) for me it's been years since I read it, so I don' really remember that much from the story..

I'm reading "Pride and prejudice" by Jane Austen, I'm trying to catch up with the classics and I also think that this is a book you should've read at least once
I'm currently reading Swann's way by Marcel Proust, it's a slow one for me :( But still, I like some of the sentences a LOT!
I am reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoj. I really like it so far, I hope it will not disapoint me.
I'm currently reading My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse. I remember that Rory and her grandfather enjoyed it)
Getting ready to start the new Dan Brown and finishing a John Sanford I've had for backup reading for months. I like Sanford, but somehow this one has just sat around and not grabbed me the way books, particularly his, usually grab me.
I am reading The Prime of Life by Simone de Beauvoir and just finishing off The Suitcase by Sergei Dovlatov.
I'm reading Apollyon. It's the 4th book in the Covenant series and i swear it's an addiction. It would've been smart to not have all the books within my grasp though cuz maybe then i wouldn't be reading so much and staying up till 5am.
