message 51: by Barbara Lombard (new)

Barbara Lombard | 5 comments It depends on the length of the book and the age range the book is written for.

message 52: by asiyah (new)

asiyah I got 300-350 wpm and I usually read 1-2 books per week depending the amount of time I have, how much I want to read the book, and the length of the book itself.

message 53: by Louise (new)

Louise Metierre (oblivi0n) | 4 comments I took the test and got 300-350 words per minute. I can read about 1-5 books per week sometimes 1 books per day but sometimes it depends on my free time. :))

message 54: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle Mine is between 200 - 250 wpm, which is just average!

In average, I read 2 to 3 books a week. And it depends on time and the books themselves..

If the book is pretty interesting, I will spend less than 2 days to finish it. If not, up to 3 or 4!

message 55: by Helene (new)

Helene (helene23) | 2 comments Interesting test. I got 250-300 wpm, but English is not my native language, so in Dutch I will probably read a lot faster. I mostly read English books (most of the time the books are just simply better). But it also depends on how much I like the book. If I have a day off I can easily read one book a day, but mostly I read 2-3 books a week.

message 56: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Cornwell-Jordan (wwwreahketgroupiecom) | 3 comments I received a 250-300wpm... If time allows, I can read a book in a sitting, depending on subject and my interest level. But typically, I read, unless extremely busy, 1-2 books a week. Hmmm, may have skimmed a little:) Probably should retake it:)

message 57: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandaandherbooks) I got: You read between 450 - 500 words per minute. But I know sometimes I read too fast and don't always take in all the details.

I can read a book a day and on weekends I can sometimes read 2-3 a day if they're all YA books about 250-300 pages in length.

message 58: by Danniella (new)

Danniella Duff (danniellathepaganwitch) | 6 comments Some books I've finished in a day or sometime the the next day depending on what time I start it. If it is a book that I have downloaded onto my phone it will take a while because I read books more

message 59: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Arnold | 4 comments I read between 200-250 average.

I read 4-5 books a week.

message 60: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 43 comments i read rather slowly.. i wish i read faster, but if i read too fast, i have no comprehension of what it was that i read.

message 61: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 5 comments I got 300-400 wpm. I usually read two books a week depending on how much free time I have. If I had a lot of free time I could probably read three to four books a week.

message 62: by Karina (new)

Karina Ive been asked this soo many times but never taken the test so im not sure how many wpm but I am able to finish a 400-500 page book in one day and usually read 5-7 books in a week if im not too busy.

I do get slower at finishing up a book when I find it boring because I end up getting distracted.

message 63: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Thomas (nidhithomas) | 19 comments Oh I improved!! 400 - 450 wpm! :D

message 64: by Athena (new)

Athena | 2 comments i did 650-700 wpm. I read a book a day. *smiles*
I made a goal that i do NOT sleep until i finish a book. literally. I once decided to read this book the dark is rising (not that good) it had 1100 pages. But i went to sleep at 4 am.

People think im weird! i think im just me :)

message 65: by Husnaa (new)

Husnaa (xohusnaaxo) | 11 comments Athena, I am just like you.. Read a book a day, sometimes 2, sometimes 3. Depends on the size of the book.. And if the book is so good I can't put down, I won't sleep till it's finished.

Oh and I got 600-650.. Improved from the last time..

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) I got 500-550 WPM. Now, if I could only sit still and focus long enough to read more than three books a week. -_-'

message 67: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Bunny wrote: "I got 500-550 WPM. Now, if I could only sit still and focus long enough to read more than three books a week. -_-'"

More than 3 a week?! Wow. I'm grateful if I have time to read that much a month!!!

message 68: by Apurva (new)

Apurva Pattela | 5 comments depends on size of the book....i always finish within 2 days

message 69: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Ok. I am in awe.

message 70: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Kayla wrote: "i read rather slowly.. i wish i read faster, but if i read too fast, i have no comprehension of what it was that i read."

I think I'm with Kayla on this one! Slow and steady...

message 71: by L.J. (new)

L.J. Cohen (ljcohen) | 2 comments Cool test! 350-400 wpm. When I'm on vacation, I can easily read a book a day. If I have uninterrupted time, I can get through an average length book in a few hours.

My husband tries to get me to slow down and 'savor' a book, but if I'm engaged, I don't want to stop until I'm done!

message 72: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) I think we need 2 different columns - one for normal reading (in between school, work, kids, sleep etc) and holiday reading! Definitely when I'm on holiday and the kids are engaged and I have a few solid hours to indulge, my rate of reading shoots up.

message 73: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (unfinishedbookshelf) | 9 comments Oh dear! I only got 150 - 200 wpm. I always thought I was faster than that :( It takes me ages to read books though because of all my uni work. However as Vered said, on the holidays I read heaps and heaps!

message 74: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) And what's strange (for me) is that since I got my Kindle, I've been reading more. I don't know what about my Kindle encourages me to read more and (maybe) faster, but there you have it...

Anyone else find that?

message 75: by Aryn (new)

Aryn (thenrrdling) I got 600-650 WPM.

I've discovered that averagely, I tend to read about a page a minute. If I say "I'm going to read for this hour before class," I'll get through 60 pages. On average, of course.

Though it definitely depends on my mood, what's going on around me, what I'm reading, how much I'm enjoying what I'm reading, etc. etc.

message 76: by Mary (new)

Mary (knoxdiver) I definitely agree that it depends on the type and age range. I find I have more trouble if I'm reading for school, like for my Victorian drama class. A 60 page Marlowe play takes days to finish and fully digest, whereas I read Goblet of Fire for the first time in 5 hours straight. It also depends on my schedule, but usually it takes me 1-3 days to finish a novel that I really enjoy and maybe 5-7 if I'm iffy about it. I also usually have about 10 books that I'm reading at a time so it's hard to judge...

message 77: by Shinalee3 (new)

Shinalee3 (shinalee) | 1 comments I am on book #3 for this week.

message 78: by Valencia (new)

Valencia (empowered) | 20 comments I got 200-250 wpm. I can read up to about 3-4 books a week if a book is really really good I'll pull an all nighter and can probably read a book in 6-9 hours. On average though it won't take me a day to read a book if it holds my interest.

message 79: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

Angie | 2687 comments Mod
I read 250-300 words. I am pretty surprised at myself. I don't read as much as others though because I tend to watch TV at night and read. If I only read I would probably read a lot more!!

message 80: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2 comments today I read Hex Hall in 4 hours

message 81: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi You read between 450 - 500 words per minute.
My books per week varies depending if I have time to read. But I try to read atleast one book every day.

message 82: by Leah (new)

Leah | 1 comments I got between 150-200 wpm. I have known I was a slow reader for a while but I don't think that it is a bad thing. Taking your time and getting all the information is better than not understanding the book. I don't like how they say below reading level because I am the smartest kid in my grade and I read at a high reading level I just don't read fast. Also this test is most likely for adults and I am a teenager. I read about a book every week or two weeks because of my busy school life.

message 83: by Christen (new)

Christen | 16 comments Mine is 200-250 WPM. I can finish 5-7 books per week. It depends mostly whether I will be captivated by the story, then it will take me no time to finish the book. If it is somehow boring, it will be longer if not, left in the pile of unfinished books.

message 84: by Dear Faye (new)

Dear Faye (fayemat) | 1 comments 300-350 wpm :O That doesn't sound too bad. I read at least 3-5 books a week =)

message 85: by Nickie (new)

Nickie (nickieanderson) | 3 comments 400-450. Although I was already aware that I read pretty fast (my sister stares at me when I tear through a book).

I had been reading 2 books a week, but now I'm working more, so yeah... down to 1 a week.

message 86: by Doug (new)

Doug Solter (dougsolter) Roughly 150 words per minute. I'm a very slow reader. Takes me a couple weeks to finish a book. Unless it's the Hunger Games. :)

message 87: by Samantha (new)

Samantha DeLaCerda (sammdelacerda) | 1 comments I read 420-450 WPM and 4-7 books a week depending on length.

message 88: by E.J. (new)

E.J. Mellow | 25 comments I'm not sure about the exact WPM. But on average I read 3 books a week, but recently I just read 5 but I think it's because I read a series on top of another series. Haha. Just gotta keep going sometimes.

message 89: by chinami (new)

chinami | 42 comments Depends upon the story, if is interesting i read in a day's time.

message 90: by Taylor (new)

Taylor Marsh (tall_tails) | 4 comments I dunno my WPM but its usually 2 books a week :) 3 if they are super exciting :)

message 91: by Madison (new)

Madison Heartwing (Winterblazer) | 1 comments hmm two days at most like Veronica said depends on how interesting that book is xD. I broke my own record at reading in half a day with a really good book. From 6am to 12am. Couldn't put this book down! it was either the Iron King series, Spy glass series or my soul to keep series.

message 92: by Erica (new)

Erica (Reading Kitten) | 6 comments I think I'm slow to average. Of course reading in my first language is a bit faster and easier than reading in English.
I can finish a book in one day, if it doesn't have too many pages, but I would have to be reading the entire day, and I would have to reaaaaally enjoy the story.

message 93: by Priyanka (last edited Jan 11, 2013 03:44AM) (new)

Priyanka 1 book per day actually...longest record was 11 books in 10 days...not short books but series like percy jackson and stuff...
oh also one day i was having a vacation and i read 3 books in a day...obviously i did not sleep but I can go without sleeping for 2 days (tested)

message 94: by -RininTa- (new)

-RininTa- (rinz) I got 250-300 wpm. Sometimes I spent 1 or 2 weeks to finish a book. I'm trying to get faster than before but seems I need more work to do it :)

message 95: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 3 comments I'm not sure how fast I read (and my headache from the book I finished is keeping me from finding out) but I read usually a book in a sitting (unless it's a bad book) and it only takes me a few hours and I usually read a book per day XD.

message 96: by Qeturwah (new)

Qeturwah (mintgil) | 8 comments According to the test i can read 250 - 300 wpm . Usually one book everyday but that can differ according to how busy i am . On average i read 15- 20 books per month.

message 97: by Elena (new)

Elena (elenaselge) when it comes to reading i'm either reading 400 pages a day or taking a month to read 200 there is no inbetween.

message 98: by MyPaperParadise (last edited Jan 26, 2013 09:02AM) (new)

MyPaperParadise | 6 comments I read 100 pages per hour, but when i read books in orginal (Engilsh, because I'm Polish) it takes a bit longer.
Last week I read 8 books, but it's usually 3-5.

message 99: by Imran (new)

Imran Siddiq (imransiddiqwriter) | 10 comments Agreed on graphic novels being read pretty quickly.

Novels I tend to read over a week. I do over analyse as I read, absorbing each word and forming the world around me.

message 100: by Jada (new)

Jada (jadaariadne) 350-400 WPM, and same as most people, about five a week unless I'm super busy, sometimes one a day.
