How quickly do you read?
I took that test and it said 350-400 wpm. However, it is completely silent in my house right now. I imagine my wpm is quite a bit lower when other things are going on around me. I can read a book a day if I have the time...usually by the end of the month I am between 17-20 books though.
You read between 300 - 350 words per minute. Above-average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.
very interesting. my score was pretty basic, but really my speed depends on what I'm reading, how it reads (eg, faster pace = faster reading, obviously), and how distracted/tired/etc. I am. I usually read about 1-4 books a week, sometimes more. again, it depends.
Usually I read about four books a week (I tried to take the test, but it wasn't working for me!). Anyways, If I have a staedy stream of books, I read four to five
Interesting... it says I read between 250-300WPM which is above average. I can usually finish a book in 1-3 days, depending on how long it is and how much free time I have. I average about 15 books a month, which is about 4 a week :)
I don't know, but I can spot a grammatical error in 0.3 seconds. It should be 'How quickly do you read' not 'How fast to do read', as fast is an adjective, and a verb is modified by an adverb.
LOL!
I can't take the test at work, but I used to average about 3 or 4 books a week depending on their size. However, now that I have a newborn, I'm averaging about one every two weeks. Time is pretty sparse!!
"You read between 350 - 400 words per minute. Well above average reading level."I can read anywhere from 1-4 books during the school year, depending on my schedule. In the summer I can do a book a day.
350 - 400 words per minute. Well above average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.)I can usually get two books done a week - sometimes less, depending on my schedule. Cool test!
Jody wrote: "Wow, I'm amazed you're finding time to read at all! good for you! :)"I second that sentiment. I don't think I picked up a book for enjoyment until after Bobo's 1st birthday. I read tons of parenting books, though.
It usually takes me about 3 days to read a book. I don't know what speed that is, though, b/c I work full-time and have a 2-year-old and a husband. I usually read at night when everyone's in bed.
I'm 300-450 wpm. Now, if only I can apply that to my school reading, I'd be killing my english studies.
I average a book every day or two. I have a long trip to work on the train and the same home, so it's a great time to read. I often have more than one book on the go at one time with usually one in the work bag and a couple next to my bed. I can't go to sleep unless I read first no matter what time I go to bed. I took the test and came in at 400-450 wpm.We all have a big love of reading in my family. Mum encouraged us all to read from a very young age and provided an endless range of difference genres. I became interested in YA books when buying for my nieces and nephews and now buy them for myself as well.
I'm kind of a slow reader and always have been. Sometimes I daydream a bit and have to go back and reread. I am VERY easily distracted. During the school year (I'm a school librarian), I usually read 1-2 books a week. In the summer, when I am off, I average 2-4 books a week, but I read constantly in the summer. I just started doing a "two pages a tinkle" rule. Every time I potty, I read at least two pages. Think about how many pages that is in a day!
I read 850-900 words, but then "failed" the comprehension test, which to me was more like a memorization test. I read about fifteen books per month, depending on what I'm reading, what else is going on in my life, etc.
umm well the read on that page was amazing uninteresting therefore I found myself not really pay attention and having to re-read some of the words, so my score was 200-250, but as long as I find good books I can read one and half book a day depending on the length of the book-I think that is why I feel like I am spending more time looking for a good series rather than reading lol
According to the test I read 450-500 words a minute. I can usually read about 100 pages in an hour, and I read 30-90 minutes a day. I guess that averages to 1-2 books a week.
I read between 250-300 words per minute. I usually average between 2 or 3 books a week. However I also have 2 jobs and im a full time student. If I had a little bit more free time, im sure I would read more books a week.
it says im above reading level 250 rpm , but still i read upto 3 to 4 books a month . and also depending on how much time i have in my hands . interesting test :)
I've got to try that quiz on my laptop (I'm on my phone right now) but I read a 45-50k book every day. I've been reading a book a day since April. Before that, my average was four books of varying length per week with a classic thrown in once a month.
250-300There's also a reading comprehension test on that page. I know some people that think they are very fast readers but can't recall the details of what they're reading.
It takes me a few hours to polish off a book, a few days if I'm busy. I lack the willpower to put a new book down and actually get stuff done, haha.
You read between 350 - 400 words per minute. Well above average reading level.I can read 3-5 books per week if I find them interesting. I take longer on those I don't like as much.
Never really thought of it but I think my reading is above average. Mainly depend on the size and the content of the book I guess but, I'd say with work and all 2 or 3 books a week.
It said mine was 250 - 300 words per minute. But applying that to the type of books i read isn't that fair since I read YA, and there's hardly any heavy reading to be found there unlike the provided text! I can burn through a book, even two, in a day but that's only if I have the whole day free. With school, probably two to three days, but I no longer can achieve that-I no longer even read when there's school.
450-500 words per minute. Cool!If I'm interested in finishing the book right away, I can finish a book in a day or so. Fox example, the day before yesterday I read You Might Be a Zombie and Other Bad News Shocking but Utterly True Facts and yestPerfect Chemistry. It depends of the time I have.
Mine's pretttyyyy fast...It's all a whirl when Im reading but as:

I, for one can also keep track of what Im reading, and enjoy it immensely too =P
Usually I get so engrossed in books (and yea... they better be pretty Goood provided.
For instance when HP7 came out, and when I got it, I was 12, but I devoured the whole book in less than 24 hours. No kidding ;)
Mine was 250-300 WPM and I can usually read 2 or 3 books a week, but since it's summer and I have oodles of free time, I've been reading 4 or 5 books a week.
It Depends On The Mood Sometimes Im In The READING MOOD And I Can Knock Out A Book But Other Times Its Like I Wanna Read But Dnt Feel Like It So Probablly 2 Books A Week Would Make It Especially Because Its Summer !
I read fairly fast. I finished the Twilight Saga books in four days and I know the book from heart. I also agree with Maya, it depends if I'm really into the book or not, or if I'm too busy to make some time for reading. Because when I start reading a book, I finish it even if I hate it. Soo.. yeah. :)
450-500 WPMI read around 5-6 books a week, at least? Currently, I've been finishing up a book a day along with studies, not for lack of trying not to read...-_-
Cool test. I got 200 - 250 words per minute. Average reading level.I read about 1-2 books (since i usually only read it at school and near bed time) a week but if the book is really good, i can finish it in a day. :)
450-500 WPM. I do read very fast. I can read like 6 books a week and that's with college and stuff. I can read way more when its vacay
I scored 300 - 350 words per minute and passed the comprehension test. However that was with ideal conditions. Usually, when I read a book, it is in-between work, household duties and being a parent. If I truly like a book, I can read it in a day. Most books I'll read in a week. A book that never grabs my attention can take a month or two (I'll read better books in between).
According to the test, I scored 250-300 words per minute. Yesterday I finished four books (two were nearly done already) and I usually read about a book a day. Not sure how that works out!
I read 450-500, but in all honesty, I've read that speech before (I was a poli sci major with a prof who loved Kennedy's speeches).I can read a 400 page YA book in 1-2 days, but I'd say on average I do 1-2 books per week, as well as a few manuscripts.

It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.I agree with you Penny, I think I read faster when I'm more interested in what I'm reading.
550-600 WPM. I've found in the past that I read about 100 pages an hour, so I usually finish YA books I'm enjoying in one or two sittings. I read about 20 books a month when I set my mind to it and have lots of interesting reads.
I took the test and it said 250-300 WPM which is above average. I can read about 1-2 books a week, depending on how much free time I have.
I got 350-400 wpm... I read about mostly one book a day, but sometimes it takes me two days, although that's quite rare. But if I a book sucks or I don't like it, I'd say about three days to finish.

Also, how many books per week do you average? (My school librarian can read 6 books every week, truly amazing)
