If I hadn't already read it, I would have voted for Lessons. :)

But, I think that we continue to have ties is interesting - we all have some of the same interests in books. Not so surprising since we're all here through Josh. It would be interesting to see what we see in a book and what we expect from the story.

I live in Indonesia and ordering books from US means I have to pay shipping cost + custom tax higher than the cost of the books themselves. lol. So we're stuck with local bookstores that carry English books.

Powell's will buy your used (print) books online, and they have a pretty hefty Gay & Lesbian section.

Err, Oh, no, that's a lie. I did buy a couple of books on mystery writing, Mary Renault's Charioteer and Cindy Pon's Fury of the Phoenix in print.
But I've bought an awful lot of ebooks since July last year

I tried reading reference books on my ereader, but those I actually need in print. Browsing just doesn't work as well in e-format

Have you tried book depository? It's an online British bookshop with no international postage. I order all my print books from there as I'm in New Zealand - books here are insanely expensive and no one stocks m/m print books.

It's funny you say that. For some reason I seem to prefer research books in hard copy too. I wonder if that will change now that I have the Kindle?

I like my research books in electronic because I can search for stuff using keywords. And I can highlight and add notes, too. The books I never thought I'd want in electronic are cookbooks. But just yesterday, there I was in the kitchen, my iPad propped up on a towel....

BTW, why does Man Oh Man have no table of contents in the Kindle version?

I still buy some print books - as much as I love my kindle , there are times when flicking through "proper" pages can't be beaten! But more so when it is an ebook I have fallen in love with, I go out and buy the print version too - like Adrien English. Flicking through that series is very therapeutic on down days. I am very anal with my book books though I always cover them with that clear contact to keep them nice, shiny!

the inside margins are rather slim, which doesn't always help

I have to admit until I read your comment just now, I thought I had a faulty copy in which the margins had been mixed up ...

I have Man, Oh Man!... in print only, and the same with The Golden Age of Gay Fiction. Regardless of the search feature available on my Kindle, I find it simpler to use a hands-on approach with these and other reference/research books instead of doing it electronically. I don't expect that will change.

Other mothers think I'm crazy, but I'm of the 'if you want it done well, do it yourself' philosophy when it comes to preparing all those schoolbooks for a new year.

Only a couple of more years to go, before they move out and have to do it themselves :D

Well, Bookdarts are made here (or at least they were originally), and I've never noticed them being sold anywhere else. I haven't looked, but I thought it might be possible they were only local. Which would be a freaking shame.

I haven't seen the Kindle version, so I don't know. I'm guessing some kind of formatting error.

I can imagine! I don't really deal much with MLR these days, so in this case, going directly to the publisher would be the best tactic. I'm sure it's just some formatting oversight.

I want the PAPERBACK edition of Three Wrong Turns.... At Amazon and B&N, they clearly differentiate between ebook and paper editions. Borders seems to as well, but this is the only product page for this book, and it has the mysterious "other format" designation that's confuzzling the heck out of me.

Help me now, laugh at me later. It's OK, I know you will! ;-)

That's what I was thinking -- that the $12.99 was the paper edition price. It certainly corresponds to what I saw on other sites for the paper.

I think this is definitely the trade paperback just given the price. Was that the question or did I miss the point?

To completely not help you at all, let me just say that the customer service at Borders sucks. Or it used to, before B&N bought it. I recommend you ask them early and often if you want to clear up a question before, say, June.

In all fairness, my issue was with an e-book, and they outsourced their e-book sales (and customer service) to another company.

Yup, I hate calling customer service too.

Since I get most of my books from Amazon, that's where I'll go for the paperback. But, I'm waiting until another much anticipated book comes out in paperback before I place my next order. I never get one book at a time, I usually get 5-6 at least, and then make fewer orders over the course of the year. Of course, now that I'm in this book group, that'll have to change. It'll be interesting to see how it does and how that affects things.
