Example: while bowing she still has to kneel and so forth the same way as any of the other people, even though she more or less has to drag one leg into position with her hands. (Spoiler from about 40% in the story. (view spoiler)

I didn't find it surprising that she was still expecting to act normally. The culture depicted clearly doesn't have any sympathy for anyone not normal, and protocol trumps all. We saw that when (view spoiler)
I was disappointed in the ending, though. I predicted it as soon as she was in the Moon Garden the first time, but I'd hoped that it wouldn't go that way, but it did...

The ending left me annoyed... mainly because there was no ending. The predictability didn't annoy me as much, since books of this character are usually pretty easy to predict, the fun is in seeing how things will work out. But there wasn't much fun for me to see how everything turned out here!

The lack of an ending didn't bother me. I don't know if I was expecting it or not, since I knew it was a duology and wasn't expecting things to be wrapped up, but it left me wanting to read more.
