Qylie | 107 comments I know a lot of readers who find it more interesting when the main character in a story is crippled. In this story they spend a lot of time discussing physical prowess and appearance, how do you think it adds or detracts from the overall picture.

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) | 464 comments I find it most interesting, actually, that the people around her expect her to still act normal, as though she weren't crippled.

Example: while bowing she still has to kneel and so forth the same way as any of the other people, even though she more or less has to drag one leg into position with her hands. (Spoiler from about 40% in the story. (view spoiler)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2717 comments I don't know if I'd say I find it more interesting when the main character is crippled as much as I'd say it's nice to see people who aren't physically perfect be the main character.

I didn't find it surprising that she was still expecting to act normally. The culture depicted clearly doesn't have any sympathy for anyone not normal, and protocol trumps all. We saw that when (view spoiler)

I was disappointed in the ending, though. I predicted it as soon as she was in the Moon Garden the first time, but I'd hoped that it wouldn't go that way, but it did...

The ending left me annoyed... mainly because there was no ending. The predictability didn't annoy me as much, since books of this character are usually pretty easy to predict, the fun is in seeing how things will work out. But there wasn't much fun for me to see how everything turned out here!

Michelle (fireweaver) | 344 comments picking up my copy from the library tomorrow...is her becoming crippled a plot point? I.e., is the title of this thread a spoiler? might wanna change that if so.

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) | 464 comments No, it's one of the first things you learn about her.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2717 comments Xeni - re your spoiler. Um... there was no time. He says it when Eon comes to (view spoiler)

The lack of an ending didn't bother me. I don't know if I was expecting it or not, since I knew it was a duology and wasn't expecting things to be wrapped up, but it left me wanting to read more.

Veronika KaoruSaionji | 109 comments I mean her injury is importat to hide that she is girl - and it is importat for her relationship toward her Mister. She hates him because it - but she loves him, too. She must forgive him, and this is for her very, very hard... I like this thing. Very clever and interesting.
