Trace (runetracey) Probably this for me is one of the best known and longest running UF series.

Anyone else a fan?

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Yes I am only on book 4 though, but so far I really like it!

Melodie (melodieco) Love this series! STORM FRONT was pretty awful and I would have never read another if a friend hadn't insisted. I'd have missed out on some great reads if I hadn't! STORM FRONT was MUCH better in audio. James Marsters is the perfect reader for this series.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I couldn't get through Storm Front. Does this mean I need to try again?

If you do, get the audio. This is the best way to read this series.

I tried this one and gave it up, but then someone talked me into trying it again, but to do the audio. At that point I couldn't get the books fast enough.

YES!! And, as Darcy says, audio is the best way to do this whole series, if you can find them.

Vivian (_vivian) I liked Storm Front fine, but just read Fool Moon (book 2), and it was loads better. And the general consensus is 3 and 4 are when the series really gets good, so I'm excited about the rest of the series :)

Betelgeuze | 158 comments The Dresden Files is one of my favourite UF series. I'm really looking foreward to Ghost Story.

message 9: by Trace (new)

Trace (runetracey) Yes, I would agree the books do get better. And of course some of the books in the series are better than others. But generally, overall, this is a very good series.
I love the humour too :D

message 10: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) Me too! The humor is part of its charm. I think Butcher does that well in his other series too :)

Starling | 176 comments I checked my library account online this morning and they had the newest book waiting for me. So I didn't wait for a phone call. I went in there and got it!

Angie | 419 comments Today (May 17th) only, 7 books in the Dresden Files series are $1.99 each on kindle. I just opened my "daily deals" email. It looks to be the first seven, though I haven't read them yet to know for sure. It does have 1-6 numbered but the last book doesn't show a number. To find them, go to the daily deals section, and they were the first item listed.

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Thanks Angie, I'm making my way through them. I'm on the third one now, but don't own it yet.

message 17: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments I'd buy at least a couple but this month as been a bit spendy already. So alas, no Dresden Files this month.

message 18: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments Oooh! I just checked iBooks, just to see if they matched the price and there are seven for $1.99!! I have credit on iBooks, so now I can get them, yay!!

message 19: by Tina (new)

Tina Bartz | 678 comments The first seven Nook books are also available today for $1.99 each. I haven't read this series yet but thought I had better snap them up at this price when I had the chance!

message 20: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments I'm reading them now. I'm on Grave Peril.

message 21: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Of all the Urban Fantasy I've read (and still read), this is my very favorite series. I adore Harry Dresden, and am dying to know what comes next, now that his whole world has changed. What I love most about the series (besides his snarky humor) is that it started out small & quirky, and built with every book, until it's now filled with adventure and fun, and some loss and sadness. Harry has grown as a character, too, along with his power and his place in the world. There is nothing better than a new Dresden Files book, and I'm counting the days for Skin Game.
