Task 30.7 -- I can't find The Heretic by Alison Mcleod on Goodreads. Please repost this task providing a link that describes the book and number of pages.

Task 30.6 -- You have to tell me what numbers you rolled if I'm to verify your books and award your points. Please repost this task providing the missing information.

No need to repost the other tasks. They have been counted.

message 54: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Inez -- post 878

Task 20.6 requires you to read at least 400 pages. Royal Blood can count for some of those pages, but you need to add more YA series book(s) to add up to 400 pages. Please repost this task when you've fulfilled all the requirements. No need to repost the other tasks - those points have been counted.

Ivy and Intrigue: A Very Selwick Christmas appears to be an ebook with no print edition. Ebooks that have no print edition must be verified for length in the eBook Verification thread before they can be claimed. Once that's done, please repost this task only. The other task in this post has been counted. Thanks!

Ex-lawyers have been specifically disallowed in message 12 of the task help thread for 10.8. Books for this task should be about a lawyer, or the legal system, courtroom stuff, etc. The fact that Man was once a lawyer doesn't seem to have anything to do with the plot of This Is How It Goes.

message 60: by Danie (new)

Danie (heyydanie) | 58 comments I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to try this, but I'll try.

Do I need to repost my original post? I know you messaged me earlier with a couple corrections, but I wasn't sure if I should repost it in order to be put on the Readerboard.

well, he does solve multiple crimes in a clousseauesque style, but i concede given the description provided here and despite the series being explicitly titled the Charlie Mortdecai Mysteries on the jackets. i'll repost it for the short read task. thank you.

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Ashley -- post 1040

There are several Ashley's in the challenge. Please repost all tasks with your Readerboard name at the top of your post.

Also, Task 15.7 requires you to read a novel. Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions is nonfiction so it will not work for this task.

I have to disagree with your definition of alliteration because if you are going for the sound then the author James Joyce doesn't work either because Jay and Joe aren't alliterative either. That author was named in the example. Just my opinion. I will change something around and repost

message 69: by kiki (new)

kiki (keekers) | 815 comments but the J sound in both James and Joyce is the SAME sound. it has nothing to do with the second letter in those names. alliteration is based on the SOUND, not the letter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allitera... in the case of SHepard, the second letter changes the sound of the first letter, it becomes a digraph and a unique sound from S. so you could have alliteration in the words Genius Jenny, because both start with the soft G sound. doesn't matter that they're different letters. does that make sense?

I have you down as completing 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, 10.1, 20.1, 20.7, 30.4, and 30.6 = 125. Your last post in the completed task thread (that I've gotten to) was #562 and you reported having a total of 125 then. I haven't seen any other tasks from you yet (I'm up to post 1000). Task 15.6 -- The non-fiction book that you read needs to be inspired by a novel. Marley & Me: Love and Life with the World's Worst Dog is a memoir and is, therefore, nonfiction.

Task 20.7 Is your quote somehow related to the plot of the book you're claiming? If so, you need to repost and give a bit of clarification. If your intention was to use the word "secrets," the task states that if you are using a word from your chosen verse, quip, quote or saying, the word must be exact.

The books Something Wicked and Slightly Wicked won't work for task 30.7. The task requires the title of the first book to end with the same word (or group of words) the title of the second book begins with. For either of these books to work, they need to be paired with a book with a title that begins with the word "wicked." Or a book with a title that ends with "something" or "slightly."

If your intention was to use the word "grandmother," the task states that if you are using a word from your chosen verse, quip, quote or saying, the word must be exact so "grandmother's" or "grandmothers" isn't going to work.

Challenge rules state:

4. All tasks require reading at least 100 pages OR at least 500 children's picture book pages (unless otherwise stated in a specific task). It is okay to read two or more books to meet minimum page requirements (plays, poetry, etc.).
*Note: One or two books between 80 -100 pages (400-500 children’s picture book pages) may be used for the 5 point tasks.

You will need to read other picture books on your friends page to add up to at least 400 pages for task 5.2. Please repost this task when you're ready to claim points for it.
