R2 TEAM THREAD: Team #6 Sixie Chicks [FIRST PLACE]
Hmmph...I keep telling myself I shouldn't be feeling this way....in a safe, unaffected zone (NO earthquakes here at this time). But it's hard not to freak just a little bit. Watching the news right now (studio in Roppongi, Tokyo) and there was just a major earthquake 2 prefectures away....watched the set shaking as they interrupted a reporter elsewhere to bring us news of this..magnitude 6.
Edit...this one was south of Tokyo...
Judithe I would be freaking out too. I feel just awful for Japan I can't even begin to imagine what it is like there right now.
I have finished my Shifters bookSlave to Sensation 4 stars read 3/15/2011
I have had this book on my TBR shelf for quite some time now and I am so glad that I finally got around to reading it. This book was right up my alley. I liked how Sascha wasn't intimidated by Lucas and was willing to do anything to protect him. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the next book.
I finished my Shifters book!
Playing With Fire by Katie MacAlisterMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved it! I was sooo excited to see Aisling and most of the gang from the Aisling Grey: Guardian series.
This book was definitely different from how the other series was. Aisling initially fought a lot with Drake about the mating and other things. May didn't really have too many problems with it (I guess I should say she didn't have to many problems with the mating YET. There are still more books to come.) Plus, Gabriel is nowhere near as crazy controlling like Drake. It was nice to get to know Gabriel better. He's sweet.
This book cracks me up like the Aisling Grey: Guardian series did. I'm going to have to fit the second book
into my list of what I want to read next. Can't wait! :-D
Great reviews Jackie and Alyssa, glad you liked your picks. Aisling Grey is one of the series I intend to start this year, I hear good things about it.Steph, Judithe, we are thinking about you and hope that you and everyone you know is safe.
Read about the 4 month-old rescued, miracles do happen.
Thanks, Miss. All's well here on Okinawa. :) Read about the 4 month-old rescued, miracles do happen. Laura shared the story w/me. Wonderful to see that happening. Hope there will be more.
YAY, a new Psy-Changeling fan!!!And a 5 star read for Alyssa! That's another YAY!
Updating stats!
Thank you all for your kind wishes! That and the fun and laughter around here are definitely helping with the stress!
@Steph--Dozo!And thanks both of you...getting very close! Hope real-life-busy-ness backs off enough for us to get our stamps soon!
I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to get rid of some of those distractions so I can finish my free space read. The kids, however, don't see things like meal preparation as a "distraction" but rather, a "necessity"....silly things, I'm not hungry, why should they be?
I'm done with my shifter book
. It was really good and I'll definitely be looking out for the others in the series. My 4* review is here.
I agree with your review Nairabell, I felt the book kept getting better and better towards the end, I even stayed up late to finish it. I have to find time to continue with the series, but there are so many great books out there!
Free Space Book
3/16/11 4*I really like the world Collins created, and enjoyed the characters as well. I debated 3.5 or 4 stars, but went with 4 because of the world. The relationship between Hexe and Tate surprised me...it seemed too strong too suddenly at the end of the book. I also felt like Hexe was still too much of an enigma...
However, the series has great potential, and I'll be keeping an eye out for the second book.

Hopefully the others won't have such meh starts. I think I'm getting them for Easter (only time I'm glad I can't have the chocolate!)
Glad you ended up liking your Demonica read, Nairabell. I loved that series. Judithe, glad to see you enjoyed Right Hand. Many didn't. I have it TBR, so I'm happy to see it has some potential.
It's almost time for a new shelf announcement! We're just waiting for a couple more reviews to get two of our stamps...can't wait to hear from ya!
Yay! Happy Sunday! This shelf is huge!If you want to check if one of the books you want to read is on it, check the hints here. Aghhhh....how to decide which book!
Well, I went a little crazy last Sunday at the local Borders' closing sale, had so many books I wanted to read that you all have on your lists, so this was a tough decision. I am currently reading
so I think I will move right along in the series and read
for my _paranormal shelf.
Finished Visions of Heat - 03/19 - 4 stars.Here is my review:
I liked this book more than the first one in the series, I'm really glad I continued with the psy-challenging books.
I found the F- psy designation interesting, liked Faith and Vaughn and the story was interesting, there wasn't much of the gooey love that drew me away from paranormal romance (i really like romance, but I also need good storylines and writing). I mostly read UF these days , but this book was really well written and kept my interest. Adding this to my love for her Archangel series, this really makes me a fan of Nalini Singh. Will definitely continue with the series, I understand the next book is even better.:)
Okay, I've finished Haunted and given it 4 stars, you can find my review over here.I'm sorry it took me so long to finish this book ): I'm going to be faster from now on!
That being said, I'm planning on reading
for the free space. I'm really curious to see what all the fuss is about.
Yay on the Arc, Celine! I'll update all our stats a little bit later today. Lots of good reads for this shelf--have fun!I'm torn between Pale Demon (have ARC!!!), Bitten and another ARC I must read this week....will decide soon!

Great picks, Ladies! Good luck! Congrats on the ARC, Celine. I look forward to your review.
CONGRATULATIONS, Sixie Chicks! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'part-of-a-series'.
[Your new BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D
Yay, we got a stamp! Judithe, I would recommend Pale Demon. I haven't read it yet, but I loved the whole Rachel Morgan series so I bet it's good. (:
Thanks, Sandra & CyberAlmu!!! Celine, I'm gonna go with that...just have to wait until the clock hits midnight to start it (cross-challenging, here!) Off to download it:D
Can't wait to hear what you think of it, too, Miss!
I finished
on 3/20 for the _paranormal shelf. I gave it 5 *'s. Until this weekend, I hadn't read any of the IAD series but kept reading everyone's comments here about it. I definitely am enjoying the series. Though the stories are somewhat predictable, there is enough action and romance to make the story an enjoyable read. I like Myst's story in the first book, but it was so short, that I enjoyed this one a bit more. I was glad to see Emma grow as the story progressed and become a stronger person through her relationship with Lachlain. I am looking forward to reading the other books soon.
