Alex Pettyfer as Jace Wayland?? Not!.. Why?

I tend to agree but I don't know anyone else who I'd like to be Jace, ya know?
Yes I do know. That's how I was for a very long time. Now I'm liking Max Irons, but that's going off of that 1 interview. I haven't seen his acting, and I'm not sure he looks ideal..but I try to put that aside. I would really love it if they came up with an unknown who could just..do Jace. Much like what happened with the Hunger Games casting for Katniss (I know many don't agree, but I'm thrilled with Jennifer Lawrence.)
but Jennifer Lawrence isn't that unknown! she's an Oscar nominee. i'm just glad she's a good actress and am hoping she's gonna be a good Katniss, but look wise i wasn't so excited about her =(

Her main movie (Winter's Bone) was just some small film festival thing. This way we won't be watching it and thinking of her in other things.
I think that if they just change her hair, she'll be great. I really like her voice cause it isn't fake sounding or anything.

I have read the Hunger games and there awesome... she also played in The Blind Side... which was a really big hit :P I happy its her!
Its official from the publisher that Alex Pettyfer is not playing Jace because he took another book series from his childhood! :(

Haha, sounds like there's some confusion going on.. I haven't actually seen Jennifer Lawrence in anything, but I've heard really good things about her acting. And yes it was Lily Collins who played in The Blind Side, she's cast as Clary. I'm happy about that too!

I just want to hear news in general about the movie...thats all i want!! an update!! they were supposed to start filming soon!!!
Yeah I know, it's been SO long since we've actually heard anything. I wonder why it's taken so long? they were supposed to film in April, Lily Collins herself said so. It's like, who they cast is completely out of my control, so I just want things to happen already.
Although..Alex P. has sort of been linked to the Hunger Games, and I'd much rather he was Jace than Peeta. I care very much about the Jace role, but I think he'd do a better job there. So..I guess I'd be happy for that reason. I'm kinda back and forth on it..
Just now in twitter someone asked Cassie about the filming in April thing, and she said yeah I think I heard that somewhere :) so..apparently that's still the plan. how is that possible?!

I won't mind if he does, I just wish he seemed more passionate about the role :/ In my opinion, Robert Pattinson doesn't seem to like Edward's character, and it sort of ruins it. (Plus I just really dislike Rob.) To me that shows actors need to be really invested. (Oh and sorry to be always referencing other movies/actors, just how I give examples to get my point across.)

And what you said about Rob P. is so true. I don't think he likes the Edward character at all and it does affect his portrayal of it. In my case I do like him, but definitely not in denial about that. It's a great example.
Thanks. Alex seems to be acting like this is just another role to him, and his behavior, to me, suggests he's really only interested in how much money he'll make. Obviously I don't know him and can only go off of rumors and such, but that's the impression I'm getting. I feel like we all--Cassie, Lily Collins (who seems devoted!) and especially us readers--deserve more than that for our Jace! So I have very mixed feelings about Alex. (As I'm sure everyone's gathered..)
I just read an article where the director of CoB said that he heard about all the rumors about Alex but he said that truthfully, he isnt cocky at all...so idk
Oh yeah? I spose it's hard to know what to believe. The media does love to hype up bad things about people. I guess I just wish he'd jumped on the role, or at least could be showing a bit more interest. But again, it's out my control so I try not to drive myself crazy. Just wish something would happen!
I know right!! But he has been offered tons and tons of roles! I think it must be quite overwhelming...he's probably just trying to figure out what roles he's gonna do and all that. Though I do wish they would hurry up!!
Your welcome, Katherine. On Alex, I'll say that as a big fan of his. I still am never quite sure what to think of him. Because the media and certain people portray him as the biggest jerk, that hes arrogant, and tons of other bad things. Then I see his interviews and accounts of fans who have met him and he comes across as a genuinely nice person who's fun and yet kind of reserved. But I would love to see him just be more clear about TMI though. Because I feel sometimes that his silence about the project indicates a lack of interest and a desire to get more money or something.
Or maybe it is as Liliana said, he might have too much role offers and that is what has prolonged a definitive answer. But I honestly hope that he decides quickly because I don't think that its cool that TMI gets stalled. Oh and I saw Lily Collins in 'The Blind Side' and she was great. Shes gonna be a great Clary.
Yeah I feel like we got totally lucky with Lily. One thing I'm hoping for is that Alex, or whoever ends up playing Jace, will have a great chemistry with her, as I feel Jace and Clary do. That's really important.
