Sans Gen, I'm really impressed that you were able to find one hundred books! I had a dickens of a time just finding ten. I might have to steal some of your reads when I do this challenge again.

Gen (gen454) | 179 comments It took me 2 long days finding them but lucky for me I had help from these lists:

Sans OMG, lists! I adore lists. Like, with an unholy passion. (It's one of the reasons I like reading challenges so much - I get to make up lists!) Thank you for the link, Gen!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Sans, Have you made a list of all your lists?

message 106: by Sans (last edited Aug 31, 2011 09:49AM) (new)

Sans *guilty* I've started a couple list-of-lists. I couldn't do just one, because I wanted it to be more sortable. ~_~

That's also how I pass slow time at work. I'll go to random.org and make up reading lists based on my TBR shelf.

You're welcome!

The only problem with creating all these lists, is that I spend more time creating them than I do checking items off. ^_^;

Gabrielle Blaque/~Bhlack Benehvolence~ (werewolfgrl1) | 417 comments Curious about something, would a teacher or a governess type of heroine be considered a brainiac?

Gabrielle Blaque/~Bhlack Benehvolence~ (werewolfgrl1) | 417 comments Me again! Another quick question! Has anyone ever read book called A Taste of Magic? if you have would you consider the heroine of the story Elizabeth Stevens a paranormal?

I guess she might have gypsy magic in her ancestry, so would that count as paranormal?

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Gabrielle ~ Bhlack Benehvolence ~ wrote: "Curious about something, would a teacher or a governess type of heroine be considered a brainiac?"

I think it would depend upon the character. I'm going to use one in September Moon b/c she is very intelligent (at least book-wise, and over-qualified for the job), but I've read others were the governesses/teachers are just of average intelligence. Everything is relative, though; are they considered intelligent for the era they live in? Kind of iffy - maybe they are a bluestocking.

Gabrielle Blaque/~Bhlack Benehvolence~ (werewolfgrl1) | 417 comments Thanks Lisa! I'll look it over a little more.

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments Easy 1 - 3 books for every type of heroine.

Outsider/Rebel/Bluestocking Heroine - Tough, self-sufficient, self-thinking woman who will not conform just because she's told to by others or because society dictates it. A person who wishes to control her is barking up the wrong tree.
1. Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger
2. Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger
3. Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger

Wallflower Heroine - Plain looking an overlooked by most but an extraordinary type of woman that excels at everything but small talk. Needs someone who can look beyond the surface and see her inner beauty.

1. Pulse (The Binuit-Namri Chronicles) by Acacia Green
2. The Way of Shadows (Night Angel, #1) by Brent Weeks
3. Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson

Professional Heroine - Sometimes mistaken as being a bitch for using her authority, but she just knows how to handle people and will not be pushed around. Needs someone not intimidated by her brain or her authority and can give as good as they take.
1. Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake
2. Midnight (Dark Age Dawning, #2) by Ellen Connor
3. Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs

Rich Girl Heroine - Rich and smart and a little spoiled, but has a good heart. Needs someone who'll appreciate her for her and not her money.
1. The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
2. Coexist (Keegan's Chronicles #1) by Julia Crane
3. The Scarlet Dagger (The Red Sector Chronicles, #1) by Krystle Jones

Brainiac Heroine - Smarter than your average bear and willing to use that to her advantage. Needs someone that will not be intimidated by her brain and can hold their own.
1. The Storyteller's Daughter A Retelling of "The Arabian Nights" by Cameron Dokey
2. John Dies at the End by David Wong
3. The Next Thing I Knew (Heavenly, #1) by John Corwin

Spinster Heroine - Thought to be too old to ever marry, but possesses hidden passion and is too smart to settle for anything less than she deserves. She needs someone that has it all.
1. Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison
2. The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen
3. Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh

Woman Warrior/Kick-Butt Heroine - Tough, self-sufficient, uncompromising and needs someone that won't change her and accepts her the way she is -faults & all.
1. Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs
2. 13 Bullets (Vampires, #1) by David Wellington
3. Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine

Minx/She-Devil Heroine - Mischievous, feisty, and self-thinking. Will give a person a run for their money and will be well worth it.
1. Queen of Dragons (Drakon #3) by Shana Abé
2. Ransom (Highlands' Lairds, #2) by Julie Garwood
3. First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones

1. Beg for Mercy (Cambion, #1) by Shannon Dermott
2. Timeless (Timeless, #1) by Alexandra Monir
3. The Bringer by Samantha Towle

Paranormal Heroine - Strong, self-sufficient, and dangerous woman who won't put up with cr@p. Needs a person who can handle her and not be intimidated. Can be a witch, vampire, shape-shifter, etc.

2. Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews
3. Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews

Congrats! I'm still working on mine, I think I overextended myself on challenges this year!

I think that's what one of my resolutions is going to be...ease up the reading challenges or none at all until I've finished ones that I'm already working on.
