message 1516: by Aoibhínn (last edited Mar 27, 2012 12:17PM) (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) Right now I'm reading Blue Sky Days by Marie Landry. I got it free as one of those read & review things. I'm 5 or 6 chapters into it so far and it's pretty boring. the novel is not very well written and its meant to be a YA romance novel but the main characters who are 19 & 22 talk like their in their 60's! And if that wasn't bad enough, the love story is far too unrealistic, so I'm finding it very hard to connect with the characters. I think this is one novel where I'm definitely going to struggle through it.

sometimes I'll only read one book all day, especially if I'm in a really good part. But usually I just read a couple chapters on one, and then I'll switch. I try to have different types of books so if I get tired of YA I can switch to a mystery or whatever.

message 1521: by Varian Rose (new)

Varian Rose Finished Nevermore (Nevermore, #1) by Kelly Creagh and would have loved it if not for the cliffhanger ending and an offhand comment that made me pissed off at the heroine. If your loved one is of a different (sub)culture than you are, you should try to understand that culture, not call it "twisted crap."

Read Patience (Passion Quartet, #2) by Lisa Valdez and loved it.

Currently reading Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale , I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

I tend to put up some books I have started and if I get bored with that book, I'll either read another or go back to 1 I had already started.

message 1526: by Wendy (new)

Wendy Unsworth (mamahathaway) | 82 comments It's only since I have become a Goodreads member that I have started to enjoy reading more than one book at once. I am tending to read 'a big one' (at the moment A Discovery of Witches) alongside something smaller or an indie book. I tend to read one of them to a natural break where I feel I might like a change and then swap over - I never thought this would work for me but it does and at the moment I have three books 'on the go!'

I do prefer to read one book at a time, but there are times when I read more than one. I usually read the book that suits my mood just then.

message 1534: by Sandra "Jeanz" (new)

Sandra "Jeanz" Now reading the Touch (Denazen, #1) by Jus Accardo but no totally sure of it at the moment. It felt a bit hard to follow at the beginning as to whose point of view/who was talking Brandt, Gilman and Deznee.
