Cheryl (cherylllr) I do read a lot of children's books, I admit. But I *like* them! I promise, I don't choose them to be competitive. I know you're just teasing, but still I gotta say, if a challenge ever told me exactly what to read I would not participate. I'm having fun, and I hope you-all are too! :)

Cheryl, having fun is the main aim of this group!!! Glad you know it's all teasing and fun! LOL
It doesn't matter what sort of books you enjoy, just ENJOY them, that is the main thing!!! :)

Cheryl one thing you might not realise about Autralians is that we tease people we like. If we didn't feel comfortable with you we would be very polite. But because we feel like we know you now it's no holds barred. Just remember that it's a form of affection here if we give you a hard time! But feel free to tease us right back.;)

Lesley | 328 comments Yesterday I finished YEAR OF WONDERS A NOVEL OF THE PLAGUE. by Geraldine Brooks , as the 'Labour Day' book. I was really enjoying it (5 stars) until the last chapter. I found the ending most unlikely, which brought it back to 4 stars from me, unfortunately!
A fascinating read all the same.

message 178: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda I think Gail's still going through that book Lesley. It'll be interesting to see if she feels the same way about the ending.:)

I am reading her other book People of the Book. I am finding the Aussieness of the main character a little cringe worthy. It's only minor and I am not sure other Aussies would agree with me but how many times do we need to be reminded that she is an Australian? (Okay shoot me) Apart from that it's brilliant. I have only heard good things about Year Of Wonders and am excited about reading it.

Angelica, look at the comment box when you're writing your msg and you'll see the words 'add book/author' above the box. Click on that and browse for the book you want then click 'add'. If you want to add a book cover instead of the name, go to the bottom of the browse box and click 'cover'.

If you click on the words 'some HTML is ok' above the comment box, you will see all the other things you can do with your comments.

Re Laura's message, you don't have to write the word 'strike' you can just type the letter 's'.

message 183: by Neko (new)

Neko @Mandy- Oooo, you can too..Nice. I never noticed that cause forever everywhere else uses strike unless I've been going around with my eyes closed..LOL
