cazdoll im re reading harry potter and the deathly hallows

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I have either accidentally returned Gregor the Overlander or put it somewhere really odd because I can't figure out where it is (need to doublecheck car...it's SO cold that I may have missed it there).

Driving me nuts because I want to read but I want to read THAT book.

I agree with Stacia. All during the first VA book, I was thinking that it had to get better. Or at least i was hoping.
They do. I'm just about done with the 3rd Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3) by Richelle Mead and it's wayyy better than Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead !
I'm still thinking they are a bit too YA for me. We'll see, most people say the next ones are super good.
**I keep telling myself that I shoulda read the VA series before Black Dagger Brotherhood, boxed set Dark Lover, Lover Eternal, Lover Awakened, Lover Unbound, Lover Revealed, Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward , Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #7) by J. R. Ward , Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #8) by J. R. Ward !!!
I compare all books to them! :(

I can't wait for Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward ! ;)

I've still only read The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness , but all this talk and praise is really making me want to read the next book! I recently started Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman and while it is an okay read so far, I'm just not sure if I'm in the mood for it right now. I'm having a difficult time getting into it. (It might be work and the holiday craziness too.)

Here is another thing that was brought to my attention this morning -- this has to be one of the nicest boards I have ever been a part of, and I just wanted to thank everyone for that. Book readers rule!

Have a good day everyone.

message 4555: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (mindylu) | 82 comments Oh after I saw the HP and the deathly Hallows I decided I needed to read the book again.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Haha. I'm very tempted to reread Wuthering Heights right now (strange I know) because I used an old copy of the book as a prop for our Christmas play (I played the nerd) and opened up to a really really dramatic good scene (not going to say which in case someone hasn't read it).

And of course I actually READ sections during the play. Staring at a book doesn't look the same.

message 4557: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks Lloyd! Right back at you :)

message 4558: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead and Day of Sacrifice The Prophecy (Day of Sacrifice Novella, #1) by Stacey Wallace Benefiel (a novella). I really liked both of them.

Now reading Portal (Portal Chronicles, #1) by Imogen Rose .

message 4559: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 95 comments I have 129 pages left of The Morganville Vampires Volume 1 (Glass Houses & The Dead Girls' Dance) by Rachel Caine . When it's over I can start one of the following, but can't figure out which! Everyone help me decide!!!

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto The Luxe (Luxe, #1) by Anna Godbersen Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White Lost A Novel by Alice Lichtenstein The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman The Pain Chronicles by Melanie Thernstrom

How am I supposed to choose?

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments well, I think we both have that problem. I still haven't picked up Knife of Never Letting Go again. And I know I need to. It just hasn't happened.

message 4563: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I just finished A Very Special Delivery (Love Inspired) by Linda Goodnight I loved it. It tugged at my heart and I was able to actually know how the main character feels towards something that happens in the book. It was a sad but beautiful story.

It's not YA, I just happened to open it up on my e-reader and fell in love with it.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Bluemoon wrote: "CASSI: Found Gregor the Overlander yet? Really like that book, can't wait to read the next one."

No I haven't! I'm so ditzy to leave things weird places. During college I kept 2 toothbrushes because I had a tendency to sit them random places throughout my room (dresser, desk, next to the TV...) I know its something random like that but it's driving me nuts & I've been too busy to properly tear everything apart.

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I'm going to start The Enemy by Charlie Higson today.

Joyce (The book worm) | 7 comments I'm reading now Deep Kiss of Winter (Includes Immortals After Dark, #8; Alien Huntress, #5) by Kresley Cole and Bloodline by Maggie Shayne ok

message 4567: by Traci (new)

Traci started Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1) by Sara Shepard this morning but I won't have time to finish it for a while. End of the semester.. lots and lots of papers to write :(

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Agreed about Cole.

message 4581: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ugh! I was on my last CD for the audio of Bloody Jack book 4 and it ended rather abruptly, so I looked at the CD case and saw that it was supposed to have 13 CD's, my copy only had 12 CD's. Now I have to go check out the library book so I know what the heck happened. Boo!

message 4582: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I decided to read Eon Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman also known as The Two Pearls of Wisdom. I guess I'm too much of a kid, I can't get out of the YA section. I must read it, because everything else bores me lol.

message 4583: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (pearlady) | 14 comments I'm reading Deception...very hard to put down, it's quite good. Almost finished with it, and looking up more by this author. :)

Lloyd | 415 comments Hmm. I'm having trouble staying into Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman right now and have The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness waiting at the library.

The end of Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman got to me to love it.

message 4588: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (K5_Music_Angel) | 34 comments I think I will read Unwind. I just finished "Beautiful Darkness." Yet another book that now I have to wait forever to read the next in the series. I need to start reading books where the whole series is already out.

Seriously.

*mutters*

message 4589: by Capability (new)

Capability | 4 comments I am new here and have been thoroughly addicted to YA since - well, forever but picked up Holes in a vaction rental and could not put it down even when I realized it was YA. Loved The Book Thief which BTW was not originally published as YA but marketed as such. Am on to Percy Jackson next, just finished The Hunger Games series. Nice group!

message 4590: by Traci (new)

Traci just finished the first Pretty Little Liars book and am on my way to the second Flawless (Pretty Little Liars, #2) by Sara Shepard .

message 4592: by Capability (new)

Capability | 4 comments i don't know about Switched - pretty little liars is everywhere - is it good?

message 4593: by Julie (new)

Julie | 7 comments I absolutely LOVED Thirteen Reasons Why. As a teacher, I see the way kids treat each other and I try to work with them to help them understand how deeply they are hurting one another, but this book REALLY puts it right out there! I think this book is a must read for adolescents!!

Traci Capability wrote: "i don't know about Switched - pretty little liars is everywhere - is it good?"

I thought it was okay. Interesting premise but it makes me think of a mesh between I Know What You Did Last Summer and Gossip Girl. (I've never read the books, but my roommate and I watch the show. It's a guilty pleasure)

It would be a lot better if the author didn't feel the need to brand drop every other sentence. I know she's trying to get the point across that these are privileged kids.. but geez I hope she's getting paid to advertise as well as write. :p

We'll have to agree to disagree on this book Julie. I was not a fan of 13 Reasons, but I am outnumbered in this group, so you have plenty of company in your love for it :)

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments And Jellicoe... don't forget that!

I'm the one who hasn't read Knife of Never Getting Go. Bluemoon and I are both being slow.... respectively! ;)

message 4598: by Amy (new)

Amy (3601144-amy) | 41 comments Shannon - Unwind has a sequel coming out in 2012.
