Brigid ✩ | 135 comments Sooo I'm almost halfway through I Am Number Four. I guess it's not quite as bad as I expected, but it's still not very good. I'm hoping the pace will pick up a little …

Good! It was different, but I liked it. I don't know if it's exactly an escape from what you normally read though. All of those books are good so make sure you don't skip any, ok?

I never finished it. Blah.

It is some error message that keeps popping up on GR. Bluemoon thanks for the update. I think City of Bones is just not for me. The writing style reminded me too much of Twilight (which you know I loved).

J.C. | 30 comments Have finished Hush Hush, and pretty much loved it, looks like I'll be ordering Crescendo now! I've just ordered Halo, by Alexandra Adornetto, but after reading some reviews I feel I might be disappointed.

I read Halo about a month ago and I actually enjoyed it. I normally skip reviews and read a book to get my own take on it, since my taste varies from others. You should read it and let me know what you think about it.

message 4407: by J.C. (new)

J.C. | 30 comments Will do Sara, I'm a bit like that myself, I've ordered it now, so will definitely give it the benefit of the doubt.

message 4408: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments The only reason why I read Halo is because I liked the title of it and it sounded interesting from what I read about it. I wasn't really disappointed in it at all. As much reading as I do, it takes a bit to remember what each book is about. Sad huh?

Two YA series I always suggest to people is Harry Potter and Maximum Ride series (this one is by James Patterson), I love them both!!

message 4409: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Just finished North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley and Heidi, you were right. Excellent book! I really loved it and I thought the mapping references were really neat actually. They helped define her character ona level that can't be expressed in words.

message 4410: by Arphaxad (new)

Arphaxad | 335 comments I just noticed that the girl on the cover of North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley looks eerily like the one on Evermore (The Immortals, #1) by Alyson Noel ! How random :)

message 4411: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Evermore is like the mirror image with special effects.

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I really liked North of Beautiful too.

I am re-reading the Strange Angels series. I'm waiting for some books to come in at the library.

My roommate and I thought this was hilarious last year and so we moved all the copies of each right next to each other in the bookstore. They probably hated us for it, but we had fun doing it :x

message 4415: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Alright, finished Sizzling Sixteen (Stephanie Plum, #16) by Janet Evanovich , and now starting Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta ... Finally, lol.

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I'm reading Beatle Meets Destiny by Gabrielle Williams

message 4423: by Traci (new)

Traci I finished both Deadly Little Secret (Touch, #1) by Laurie Faria Stolarz and Deadly Little Lies (Touch, #2) by Laurie Faria Stolarz in less than two days. I thought they were both pretty awesome! I liked them a lot and I'll be anxiously awaiting the third at the end of December!

don't know what to read next.. I have a huge stack calling my name

message 4424: by Traci (new)

Traci I think I voted on Sloppy Firsts (Jessica Darling, #1) by Megan McCafferty . I heard about this book through this thread I believe! As I remember, it comes highly recommended :)

message 4425: by Tintin (new)

Tintin (marimorimo) | 40 comments Currently reading Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly , Life of Pi by Yann Martel , Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms, #1) by Kristin Cashore , and soon to finish The Book Thief by Markus Zusak .

I tend to read a few chapters of 2 different books everyday, and I only read Graceling during the weekends. All of my current reads are surprisingly GOOD, whith Graceling probably relatively the weakest. I just started Life of Pi today even though it's been in my TBR pile for months and I didn't expect to like it much, but 90 pages in and I'm enjoying it a LOT ^_^

message 4426: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I just finished Beatle Meets Destiny by Gabrielle Williams , It is a YA aussie book and it was decent, more like Teen fiction than Young Adult. I am going to read Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James , Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James and Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen this week.

I have read a couple Julie James and while they are def not YA they are quite steamy and entertaining if you are in the mood for a lusty romance.

message 4432: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Confession time. Ok. Here goes...I think I have a girl crush on the narrator for Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta and On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta . I could listen to her all day. I think her and the fellow Aussie that narrated I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak should get together and have babies with cool voices like theirs to carry on the legacy. I know. I'm weird.

I'm going to go start one right this very instant!

We talked about it in the Finnikin thread. But we mostly just talk about how good the books are and that people should start them now. Sound familiar? :P

message 4437: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 135 comments So I finished I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1) by Pittacus Lore yesterday. Meehhh, wasn't very good. I'm about to write a long, ranting review of it. *Rubs hands together*

Now I've started Firelight (Firelight, #1) by Sophie Jordan . One of my friends really liked it and recommended it to me. :) I've only read two chapters I think, but it's very intriguing so far …

message 4438: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Very familiar with that conversation, lol. It's what caused me to buy it.

It deserves a thread of it's own.

message 4439: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks for the support Carmel! I hope to get over my girl crush soon!

Not everyone loves Strange Angels but it's my favorite series. I love Dru's snarky-ness

message 4445: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments Amanda~ I liked it, the only thing I hate is the spelling of some of the words like werwulf instead of werewolf, that drives me bonkers but overall it's a really good series so far...

message 4446: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm reading Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward , I'm crazy for Rhage! I love him!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I just finished (last night) The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness

Really liked it! But was a very unhappy book to read last night.

yeah, A lot of their made-up words bothered me until I got used to it. I kept asking myself "WHY OH WHY don't they just call them vampires. seriously."
