Heidi wrote: "I'm listening to Infinity and reading The Demon's Covenant. Next on my list is either Clockwork Angel Torment or White Cat..."I really liked White Cat, and was not impressed by Clockwork Angel at all (liked the TMI series though)
Laura- I wish I hadn't bothered with the sequel
I liked White Cat but I felt like it's mostly just a set up for the next book. I've always been a fan of Cassandra Clare so I really liked Clockwork Angel. In my opinion I'd read Clockwork Angel first :D
I'm reading The Hero of 1000 Years by Christine E. Schulze. I've only read about 10 pages so far, but I'm already hooked.
Reading Magic Study. I'm on page 193 and I'm enjoying it. I know some people did not like it as much as poison study but so far I've got no issues except the beginning felt a little artificial.Of course I think other people have issue with the lack of Valek but it was never that part of Poison Study that drew me in.
Has anyone read Prophecy of the Sisters? I am wondering if it is worth reading.I just finished Dark Lover by J.R. Ward. I wam trying to find the words to leave a review. I loved it and hated it. *sigh*
Amanda I haven't read it, but Michelle pops in the group a few times, I know. Hahaha, you like how I think I'm on a first name basis with her? I'm totally cool. :P I think there is a sequel out, or will be coming out. I can't remember.

Book #2 just came out, there will be a third that comes out next year. I've read a lot of crap lately and now am getting picky ; )
I don't have any books I feel like reading right now. *sigh* I'm in another book funk.
You should read
. I officially deem it required reading.I also think you'd like these. It's a mix. Some I liked, and some I didn't but I think you'll like 'em. Actually, maybe you will. You're kind of picky.
ETA: I meant that as a compliment :P
Peep you would be proud. I told one of my friends that I was adding Melina Marchetta to his must-read list (as though I have power over that).
Yes! It is my goal in life to have everyone I know read her books, even though I've read only two. (In my defense, they are on request from my library.)And yes, I am proud of you! Spread the love that is MM. I got my copy of Finnikin in the mail today and am totally having second thoughts about loaning it out. I want to frame it or something.

I love Melina Marchetta. Maybe I'll see what else the library has of hers. I'm trying ot get a hold of a copy of the second Black Dagger Brotherhood book, the library has one copy and I am 14th in line for it. I picked up Finnikin of the Rock last week, read the back and put it back on the shelf, if it's there tonight I will grab it. Thanks for the recommendations!
I forgot I loaned Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella from the library, so I will read that today. Another chic lit book, probably full of warm fuzzies ; )
Good ones! I've only read 2 and the first was Finnikan-fantasy with a male main character & the second was just YA with female main character. They are stand-alone novels and she genre jumps.
Okay, I TBR'ed Saving Francesca and Finnikan. I get nervous just picking random ones so hopefully they are good. I'm always looking for amazing authors I've never heard of before.
Wendy, I highly suggest you move Finnikin up on your list. I loved it. For the most part, I'm kind of a picky reader, but that one was really good. Trust me. Jellicoe Road was also great, I recommend that one too. It took a while to get into it but I'm glad I didn't give up. You can check out my reviews on both of them if you want, no spoilers. Amazing? Yes, I'd say so.
Okay, I'm moving Finnikin up. I still have a few books before it, but I'll make sure to go buy it tomorrow so that it is in easy reach when I'm ready for it. (Your review sold me, Peep)
Thanks Wendy! Oh, don't get me started on my tbr pile.Cassi, put in a good word for me.
Seriously, I was impressed because I didn't think I would like them. But they crept up on me and I loved them.
Wendy wrote: "Okay, I'm moving Finnikin up. I still have a few books before it, but I'll make sure to go buy it tomorrow so that it is in easy reach when I'm ready for it. (Your review sold me, Peep)"I agree about Finnikin!
It's ridiculous, my TBR pile. What I physically have versus what is listed. If I think about it too long I may actually get overwhelmed, haha.
I have the hardest time loggin in to this board. Drives me crazy!!!! I finished Clockwork angel, it was slow to start but finished good I thought. Am now onto Vanished by Kat Richardson part of her Greywalker series. its not YA but a good series none the less.
Have also added Finnikin to my TBR! Having seen so much enthusiasm from so many quarters, I finally relented :)Currently re-reading
by Susan Cooper. Love that woman. This book is such a...cozy read, somehow. One that I love to curl up on my bed with, and just savour for an afternoon. A quick, easy read, which - cringeworthy as it may sound - really brings Shakespeare to life for me (it's based around theatre) :D

Jellicoe Road was also great, I recomme..."I loved On the Jellicoe Road. I will warn you it's really really confusing, get through the first 150 pages and you will like it.
I put Finnikin on my list at the library, I should get it later this week. I'm excited, I've heard good things about it.
I'm almost done with Catching Fire & then I'm going to start Mockingjay which, I'm sure you all know, is by Suzanne Collins. They are amazing... I'm so glad I listened to everyone else & started them. I can't wait till the movie, but since it isn't due out till 2013, I guess I'll have to. :)
Annabel wrote: "The mortal instruments book 1 City of Bones by Cassandra Clare I love this book!"Cassandra Clare's books are AMAZING!
@Emily: The Dark is Rising is a lot better, I'd say; one of my all-time favourite series! Very magical and atmospheric, I re-read them all the way through every few years. Definitely put it on the TBR! It's worth mentioning though that the first book, Over Sea Under Stone, isn't quite as good as the rest and seems a little 'younger' (but I still liked it!) - if it doesn't grab you then maybe skim-read that one and then enjoy the others :)
I just finished Magic Study. It had some flaws but I'm not sure why so many people were so under-enthused by it. I'd post more but well...spoilers.
PS I'll post this. I hate when someone ends every sentence with love. If he were my BF I'd want to punch him in the face.
He kinda annoyed me in this book. The thing I mentioned before about ending every sentence with love.
(I know I'm so not a normal girl. I've also seriously considered being an old maid by choice for the freedom aspect. But I also like kissing)
I'm halfway through Catching fire and I'm trying so hard to not peek and see how Peeta and Katniss both make it out together again... I can't stop thinking about it!
Peep wrote: "Cassi I think people wanted more Valek, is all. Totally understandable I'd say!"Yes more Valek!
Amanda wrote: "Has anyone read Prophecy of the Sisters? I am wondering if it is worth reading.I just finished Dark Lover by J.R. Ward. I wam trying to find the words..."
Hi, Amanda!
Thanks for considering Prophecy. I try to make myself scarce here because I never want anyone to feel like I'm just here to promote my books and I also don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable speaking freely about it. All that said, I'll just be totally straight with you about Prophecy, because it's a given that not every book is for every person.
I'd say that if you enjoy an atmospheric read with complex characters and a totally unique storyline, you'd probably like Prophecy. If you're looking for something quick and dirty (I call it literary fast food, and let's face it, we all have times when that's what we want) like, say, the House of Night series, not so much.
Either way, I wish you happy reading!

So there's a very old series called the Obernewtyn Chronicles written by Isobelle Carmody. They are set in a world struggling back from the brink of apocalypse. Its about kids who have enhanced mental abilities. I highly reccomend them!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obernewt...

Well the house of night was pretty horrible so if I'm looking for something different then I will try Prophecy.
Emily (Super Reader Girl Reviews) wrote: "I've been meaning to read Susan Coooper's The Dark is Rising series ever since I saw how much Andrea Cremer (author of the upcoming Nightshade) loves it, but haven't got to it yet. W..."I love the Dark is Rising series! Like Arphaxad I re-read them every few years just to enjoy the experience again. It's on my top ten series of all time list and a couple of the individual books are on my best books of all time list. It really was Susan Cooper's definitive series. I actually skipped Over Sea Under Stone the first time I read the series and I really wish I hadn't. It's a very good intro to the series, plus you get to know some characters that are pretty central to other parts of the series. I highly recommend reading all of them!
Shadow King is much shorter and written for a slightly younger crowd, but I still enjoyed it. One of her other books Seaward is one of my other favorite books of all time (of the ten on the list three are by Cooper).
Peep,I almost picked up Finnikin of the Rock at the library. I have heard everyone talk about it but I am not a huge fantasy fan though I have read some..I am more of a Urban Fantasy that just straight fantasy. Next time I go to the library if its there I will pick it up, doesn't hurt to at least try it. :)
I just finished the ARC of Out for Blood and I loved it! I love Alyxandra Harvey she is my new favorite author!!
Okay so I need some more good October reads so what would you pick:

Almost? Almost?!?! Kidding.
Have you read any of the Warrior Heir or Demon King series (Cinda Chima Williams or something like that)? Graceling? It's kind of like those (as far as world building) but much, much better.
