I loved that book :)

I just read that one via audio book. Didn't like it as much as Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns for most of the book, but quite liked it towards the end. Rating it on goodreads gave me a hard time because of that.

Just read Hunger Games this weekend, reading Catching Fire now. Next up should be Iron Daughter.

message 2858: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I just read Hunger Games, too, and LOVED IT. I'm reading Catching Fire now. And, next up is Iron King or Splendor. Cassi, I think we have the same tastes in books!

The only other two books by him I've read are Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns and I was kinda disappointed by both.. I just don't think John Green is really my style, but I'll keep chugging on. I want to like him! I really do..

message 2860: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Traci please skip that book and just read WILL GRAYSON!!! I guarantee you will change your mind. I was not a huge fan of him after Looking for Alaska, but Will Grayson made me change my mind. Trust me!

message 2861: by Traci (new)

Traci hahahah okay Heidi, next time I go to the library I will pick it up. But I got 4 books from there today, which should take me until the end of the week (at least) and then next Tuesday Mockingjay comes out (which means that the world stops and I do absolutely nothing until I finish it). But I promise I will read Will Grayson sometime soon.

Jaleesa Morrison (Jalee) | 1 comments I'm reading Willow

message 2865: by Beccy (new)

Beccy | 1 comments I'm almost finished If I Stay by Gayle Forman and going to start Tomorrow, When the War Began (The Tomorrow Series, #1) by John Marsden

message 2866: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments Heidi I wrote: "I finished Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater yesterday. Two questions for those who read it. 1. Did you feel Maggie should have put in some info from Shiver to remind readers or who was who and other imp..."

To put in my two cents:
1. I too read Shiver awhile back and would have liked a little recap. Some things did come back to me though.
2. I didn't see Sam as a whipped puppy. I also viewed it as him trying to figure out who he was as a human, which was hard considering what Grace was going through.

Traci-I'm sorry to hear John Green hasn't really been your cup of tea. He's my favorite author and I highly recommend Will Grayson as well!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi I wrote: "I finished Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater yesterday. Two questions for those who read it. 1. Did you feel Maggie should have put in some info from Shiver to remind readers or who was who and other imp..."

I think I'll be skipping Linger. I thought Sam was very weak in the first book. Quit possibly the weakest "hero" I've seen in a book.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Alyssa wrote: "I just read Hunger Games, too, and LOVED IT. I'm reading Catching Fire now. And, next up is Iron King or Splendor. Cassi, I think we have the same tastes in books!"

Yay! I loved Hunger Games so much that I went straight to the bookstore & bought Catching Fire. Then I read all of it yesterday afternoon/evening.

Now I'm onto Iron Daughter. (Boy in the Striped Pajamas is my current audio book...almost done. Need to go to library today)

message 2869: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep, Cole, the new character in Linger is interesting enough to make me put up with Sam's "finding himself" as Shannen and Lani say.

message 2870: by Dija (new)

Dija Currently reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Heard it was good, so might as well try it out.

message 2871: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Yeah Cole has enough going on that maybe he makes Sam look a little more, sorry but pansey, than he actually is. And yes it wasn't so bad because he did seem to be trying to figure it all(read: Grace, being human, the pack, etc) out and that could def make a guy seem any number of ways.

message 2872: by [deleted user] (new)

Heidi I and Jaimie - Sam definitely had his weak moments in Linger. His past sucks, he lost his father figure and then you add antagonizing Cole into the mix.

Lazuline - Yay! I think the series got better with each book. Hope you like it!

message 2873: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, and I'm reading The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson . :)

message 2874: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am reading The Murder Of Bindy Mackenzie (Ashbury/Brookfield, #3) by Jaclyn Moriarty and still listening to Curse of the Blue Tattoo (Bloody Jack, #2) by L.A. Meyer , Love is a Many Trousered Thing (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #8) by Louise Rennison , and The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

message 2875: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Shannen- I hope you like The Sky as much as I did! It brought all kinds of emotional out of me. LoL!! I was crying one minute and smiling the next. I felt like a crazy person.

Heidi- Do you think reading Curse of the Blue Tattoo (Bloody Jack, #2) by L.A. Meyer would be as good as the audio?

message 2876: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments I just started Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken .

message 2877: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi I wrote: "I am reading The Murder Of Bindy Mackenzie (Ashbury/Brookfield, #3) by Jaclyn Moriarty ..."

I'm reading Bindy too. Boy, she is annoying but funny!

Shannen, I put Linger very low on my tbr pile. I can't get myself to be excited about it. I get the feeling it'll read like the Twilight movie meadow scene.

message 2878: by Heidi (last edited Aug 17, 2010 02:00PM) (new)

Heidi Kourtni I think reading the book (Blue Tattoo) would be fine. After this one in the series I will have to start reading them as well because my local libraries do not have the audiobooks and I don't want to drive the closest library in my alliance that has them on audio (an hour away).

message 2879: by Heidi (last edited Aug 17, 2010 01:59PM) (new)

Heidi Peep Bindy is quite annoying, but she is growing on me :)

message 2880: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Yeah, I hear ya. I actually already put Under the Jolly Roger (Bloody Jack, #3) by L.A. Meyer on my Kindle app because it was on sale on Amazon. The first one was just so good on audio! At least we have a voice to imagine while we read, right?

message 2881: by Trisha (new)

Trisha Leigh (trishaleighkc) Reading MATCHED by Ally Condie. Thoughts? No spoilers!

message 2882: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) Rebecca wrote: "I just started Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken."

I read that book! It was ok, I can't wait if there is a second! Other so far I would rate a PG-13 movie, which some people may prefer, but I'm not sure to continue. Anyways have fun!!!

message 2884: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Just finished Jealousy It was good, she was still a little annoying but I liked it anyways. Tonight I am going to start Sisters Red (Sisters Red, #1) by Jackson Pearce

message 2885: by Stormi (StormReads) (last edited Aug 17, 2010 06:37PM) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I just finished reading The Replacement and it was different and interesting and held my attention which I have been having a hard time getting books to do lately. :)

Now I am reading the ARC of Beautiful Darkness, I am hoping it will be good, then after it The Nightmarys and I am hoping it will be kind of creepy..LOL

I felt the same way Kourtni! I hope you like it Shannen!

I just finished It's Not Summer Without You and was pleasantly surprised. I'm now reading Gimme a Call. It's a light read, and certainly not a page turner. I don't know if I'll get through it, I'm a little annoyed by how pushy the older character seems.

message 2889: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni and Lani - I'm liking it so far. The writing style is very different but in a good way.

Crystal - How did you like City of Bones? Yay that you're reading Darkfever!

Stormi - So jealous that you got an ARC of Beautiful Darkness!

Heidi - How do you like The Summoning so far?

message 2890: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I'm glad Shannen!

Heidi I'm also interested to see how you feel about The Summoning.

message 2891: by Heidi (new)

Heidi The Summoning is ok, but not great. Probably around 3 stars. I think this is just not my genre.

message 2892: by [deleted user] (new)

A whole 3 stars? That's pretty good! ;)

LOVED it on audio. I was wondering if reading it in print is as good?

message 2897: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Lazuline I liked The Sky Is Everywhere, and so far it seems everyone else I have seen on here liked it too.

message 2898: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) I don't know if I should continue Other by Karen Kincy. *embarrassed* I came to a part where the main character is having sex...
