Go to the find books section at the top, then click on giveaways :)

Heidi (yabibliophile) (hmz1505) | 15 comments I just read "Once a Princess" and "Twice a Prince" by Sherwood Smith. She is fabulous! I also read the first two books in The Drake Chronicles by Alyxandra Harvey (Hearts at Stake and Blood Feud.) I really enjoyed them. Book three, Out for Blood, is due out in December. I can hardly wait!! Next on my list is "Raised by Wolves" by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

Wendes | 29 comments The Lies of Locke Lamora and it's pretty epic so far

Chris (chrismd) | 4 comments I'm in the second book of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series The Magician by Michael Scott. It's quite well done and should appeal to fans of the Olympians series. I also just finished Powerless by Matthew Cody and thought it was wonderful.
The YA book I've been telling everyone about this summer is Unwind by Neal Shusterman.

Uh oh, another Heidi! Perhaps I will have to change my name so everyone will know which Heidi I am. Nope, on second thought, I will just bash Twilight every once in awhile, then everyone will knows which Heidi I am (that was for you Shannen :)

Heidi - I'm sure you're much more snarky than the other Heidi. :)

Becca - No laughing! ;)

message 2811: by Emily (new)

Emily (toofondofbooks_) i'm reading "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath.
it's not YA, but it's a different choice from what I usually go with, and i'm really enjoying it.

Heidi Ok. I have officially changed my name to Heidi the first, as the more I have thought about it, the more I really don't want to mention "the series that shall not be named" anymore. Perhaps I will move on to my dislike of Shannen's new favorite series Mortal Instruments. Hee hee :) The fun never stops with Heidi the first!

message 2814: by [deleted user] (new)

Love the new name, Heidi I! Please move on to Mortal Instruments. There are lots of MI lovers on here! Haha!

Poor Heidi II, she must be so confused!

message 2819: by Laura (new)

Laura | 114 comments It's not YA, but I just finished The Help on audio and absolutely loved it. The audio version was awesome. I miss it now that I'm done! I need another good audiobook.

I'm also re-reading the Harry Potter books right now--I forgot how wonderful they were! I'm on Chamber of Secrets, and I'm planning on going through the entire series.

And I finished Linger a little while ago and I wasn't as blown away as I was with Shiver. I still love Maggie's beautiful writing style, but this one didn't have quite the same effect on me. I'd still recommend it, though.

message 2822: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Is there another Becca? There are several Rebecca's I think, but I haven't seen another Becca yet.

message 2823: by Heidi (new)

Heidi There is another Becca, but she does not post as much as you Becca I :)
Laura - I LOVED the Help on audiobook. I also missed it after I was done. It really put a damper on the next few audiobooks I listened to after it.

message 2824: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Hahaha! Should I change my name then?

message 2825: by Rochelle (new)

Rochelle (itsmechelly) | 45 comments Really backed up on my library books. Have to read PLL #1 Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1) by Sara Shepard and #2 Flawless (Pretty Little Liars, #2) by Sara Shepard and Sisters Red Sisters Red (Sisters Red, #1) by Jackson Pearce

message 2827: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (vonnie20) I'm currently reading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I'm only a few pages in but i'm loving it already!

Heidi (yabibliophile) (hmz1505) | 15 comments I have no qualms about being Heidi the second. It's rare that I meet another Heidi!
I just finished Raised by Wolves and really enjoyed it! Can't decide what to read next from my overflowing "to be read" shelf.
Yvonne, I really liked 13 Reasons Why. I thought it was an interesting set-up.

message 2829: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Just read Tithe (The Modern Faerie Tales, #1) by Holly Black and I have to say it is one of the better modern fairy tales I've read. Besides the absurd amount of crude language it was very well written and true to fairy lore.

message 2830: by Eden (new)

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) | 135 comments Finished The Faery Flag: Stories and Poems of Fantasy and the Supernatural and I really enjoyed it. Great book of short stories and poems. Now I'm reading The Doll in the Garden by Mary Downing Hahn.

message 2831: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Jackson (melaniejaxn) | 5 comments I'm just finishing Jealousy by Lili St. Crow. Another fun read in a fun series. I am beginning to suspect she'll need about 100 books to tell Dru'sd story though since each book happens in a pretty short period of time.

I read the first book but didn't find it all that completely interesting. I'm wondering if I should read Betrayals and Jealousy

message 2833: by Traci (new)

Traci I finished Before I Fall last night and I liked it up until the end. I was not a fan of the ending at all.

Not sure what I should read next.. I'm too excited for Mockingjay :\

Dija Traci wrote: "I finished Before I Fall last night and I liked it up until the end. I was not a fan of the ending at all. "

Why didn't you like the ending? I thought it was the saddest thing, but I also understood why it happened the way it did. No other ending would have fit.

I can't really get into it much without giving spoilers. I don't know.. I guess I was hoping for more explanation on how that was actually happening.. and okay I'll be honest, I was hoping for a happier ending even though I knew it wasn't going to come.

yeah, it was really weird. I didn't like the protagonist, Sam, at all. Or any of her friends really, but for some reason I enjoyed the actual story. I think I just wanted to know what was happening..

message 2838: by Eden (new)

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) | 135 comments Just started reading Nightmare by Joan Lowery Nixon.

message 2839: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I finished The Black Book of Secrets by F.E. Higgins this morning and started Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lilith Saintcrow this afternoon. I am already 1/3 the way through. Not going to like having to wait until Aprill 2011 for #4 Defiance A Strange Angels Novel by Lili St. Crow

I really like the idea behind the book but I have to say -like you- that Sam isn't a good quaracter. When I started the book I thought all these girls were b****** and I wasn't sure if I could ever get into it. As the story went on Sam became more likeable but sometimes I thought: Haven't you learnt anything at all?! So in the end I didn't like Sam so much and I would have been happy to read more about Kent and Juliet...

message 2841: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I've been on vacation the past week and while I've caught up on my reading, I've been slacking on my goodreads posting, lol. So in the past week I've read:

Bloodfever-starting to be able to handle Mac more. I will definately read the rest of the series though.
It's Not Summer Without You-Pleasantly surprised at the smooth way Han continued the story. I really liked it.
The Sky Is Everywhere-Loved this one and highly recommend it!
Gimme a Call-currently reading (only two chapters into it). Too early to form an opinion...

Janina | 3 comments At the moment I'm reading Hunted (House of Night, #5) by P.C. Cast

message 2843: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins is great! I stopped reading late last night because I want to "save" it but I can't wait to pick it up again now!

message 2844: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I finished Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater yesterday. Two questions for those who read it. 1. Did you feel Maggie should have put in some info from Shiver to remind readers or who was who and other important info? 2. Was anyone thinking Sam was a total whipped puppy and wanted to smack him?

message 2845: by [deleted user] (new)

1. I get irritated when authors do that but because I read Shiver so long ago, I found myself wishing she had tidbits in there to refresh our memories.

2. Sam is ultra sensitive and I kind of like him that way. I think he is just finding his feet, so to speak.

message 2846: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments 1. I think a lot of authors overdo the recap but a little nudge would have been helpful.

2. They both annoyed me for a good portion of the book and yes Sam acted in my opinion like a whipped puppy.

message 2847: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks for your thoughts Jaimie and Shannen :)

message 2848: by Tasha (last edited Aug 16, 2010 10:00AM) (new)

Tasha (trillian711) | 0 comments I finished Wildthorn by Jane Eagland this morning and now I'm reading The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

message 2849: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) Uglies and I'm really enjoying it. I usually like fantasy more than sci-fi, but some sci-fi is just too good to pass up. It took me awhile to really get into it, b/c I've heard so much about it that I thought I already knew what was going on and what would happen. However, I was totally wrong and I really like where the book is going.

message 2850: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (theresamariep) | 6 comments I'm reading the first book in the Pretty Little Liars series. I'm addicted to the show and now I need to know who A is.
