Me too. Can't remember the last book that didn't make me cry.

Hi Everyone,My name is John Cicero and I am a fantasy / adventure author. My passion for writing is driven from the joy I receive from reading my stories to my children.
Watching the expressions on their face as I take them on a journey through the magical pages of my imagination is what drives me to find the time to write.
My recently released novels are in the Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy. They are Rainbow’s Shadow and the Tablets of Fate and Rainbow’s Shadow and the Covenant of Wisdom.
As a passionate writer in Northeast, Ohio I have been fortunate to hit the Best Sellers list with 'Tablets of Fate' and am on track currently with the 'Covenant of Wisdom'.
The final novel in my trilogy is Rainbow’s Shadow and the Other Side of Paradise which is currently in development.
If you have a moment check out my website and my Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy today at... www.RainbowsShadow.com
Take care, John

I don't feel the characters connection and it has just been a little dull f..."It does pick up a bit, Kourtni, and does pick-up intensity toward the end. I know it is slow, but I thought it was worth it. Beautiful Darkness is MUCH better. I couldn't put it down. Less of Lena whining and more action.
I just finished Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. I enjoyed this one a lot. Great story line and fun graphics. Made want to get in the car and just drive!
Thanks Randee. Unfortunately, I have decided to put Beautiful Creatures down for the time being. Maybe I'll give it another try if the mood ever strikes me to pick it back up. It's good to know that it does pick up enventually though!
Kourtni - How much romance is in City of Ashes?
I'm really wanting to read a YA romance while we're camping. Any suggestions from anyone? Someone along the lines of Perfect Chemistry and Rules of Attraction. (Leaving Paradise isn't available on Kindle.)

Just finished The Chosen One and really liked it. About to embark on a long reading spree with On the Road, If I Stay and The Knife of Never Letting Go. a comment on Bleeding Violet made me add it on my to-read. we'll see how that works out :)
Shannen - It's been a while, but I would say about as much as City of Bones, maybe a teeny bit more. I haven't read Perfect Chemistry or Rules of Attraction so I have no recommendations for you. Sorry! I still think you should read City of Ashes though. :)
Also Shannen I just looked at your tbr pile and there are tons of good books on there -
and of course I am suprised at the fact that you are such a twilight fan and you haven't gotten around to
I am a big Twilight fan and absolutely forced myself to finish The Host. I did not like anything about it. That's disappointing when you love something from a particular author, but it happens. I admit I do tend to seek out books once I like something an author has written. Which of course is why I bought the Host!
I thought the concept was interesting and that the love story was sweet and complicated. Not the best written book I have ever read but well I am not so picky in that department.
I loved Twilight because of Edward and Bella, not because of Stephenie Meyer (if that makes sense).
I was kind of hoping for a non-PNR romance. Just two teens falling in love, first times, etc. A book where I wouldn't get confused if I was interrupted a lot.
I'll stick with City of Ashes. You just really have to pay attention when you're reading about the different worlds, etc.

City of Ashes just carries on the triangle between Jace, Clary, and Simon. It's good. Amy & Rogers Epic Detour has romance. If you like some suspense with your romance, Todd Strasser's Wish You Were Dead mixes them very nicely.
Are ones that I've read and recently liked. North of Beautiful was sweet, and a little longer. It's real, no paranormal there.
The Year of Secret Assignments was hilarious. Have you read that? It has romance and some sadness, but I laughed (out loud) a lot while reading it.
Chasing Brooklyn was a really fast read but I thought it was sweet. I think you should bring it because you'll be done with that one in no time. A touch of paranormal, but I still recommend it.
Shannen my vote is still for City of Ashes, but I recently read The Body Finder and there was some good romance in that one too :]
Wow! You gals are awesome! Most those were already on my TBR list but I also added Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. They all sound so good!
I'm going to stick with City of Ashes unless it is too hard to read while being distracted. We're going camping with all my girlfriends and families and I never know when I will get some quiet moments to read. City of Bones was a little slow at the beginning and I'm hoping City of Ashes isn't like that.

I've read this trilogy twice and City of Bones three times so will go back to City of Ashes next. Each book is better than the one before IMO. They are a great re-read as I missed a lot the first time in my hurry to find out what happens.
I just finished reading Imprinted Souls by Danielle Lanzarotta and now I'm reading Burned from the House of night series and next will be The short life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Myers then onto the Host. Any one read any of these?
Just finished
. I'm really enjoying this series. I have the next two as well and that's what I'll be focusing on the next couple of days. :]
Peep wrote: "Me either! Do you know when the sequel is coming out?"It looks like Return to Paradise comes out September 1st!
In the middle of The Vanishing Sculptor and Beautiful Creatures and plan to start Fallen in the next day or so.
Traci wrote: "Just finished [bookcover:On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God: ..."I love this series.
Bluemoon wrote: "so far I'm reading Ender's Game. It's an ok book, but I thought it will be a bit better."Oh no, I was going to try it, but was already leary of it. I may just skip it.
I just finished Linger a couple of days ago and having trouble moving on even though I have a pile to read here. It was a book that "lingers" on in the mind and I don't want to let go and move on. Beautiful writing.
I'm currently reading "Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" by Stieg Larsson and Reg Keeland. Good thus far. Writing skills are well above par. Check it out when you get a chance.

I personally really enjoyed Ender's Game - give it a try!
I finally finished Graceling and loved it! It's taking me way too long to get through books this summer-so much to do!I'm now reading Forever and found it very hard to put down last night. I'm a huge chick lit and romance/love story fan, so this book is perfect for me! Blume wrote it in the 70's so the sex talk/action is not a hush, hush topic. I appreciate this as an adult, but I don't know that I would recommend it for teens. Blume does put a disclaimer in the front of the book about how views on sex have changed and how at the time the book was written they were not as aware of STD's as we are today. Overall, I'm loving the story and it's definately a page turner to me.

Don't skip it Heidi!!! This is not a story anyone should skip. It's pretty deep, and you have to keep in mind how dang young Ender is throughout the book or it won't have that much of an effect. I just finished the sequel, Speaker for the Dead and the companion novel, Ender's Shadow, both of which were also excellent. And this comes from someone who doesn't usually get into sci-fi. This is just plain an AMAZING story.
I read Enders Game awhile back. I agree that it is an amazing story, but I really don't care for science fiction. I did't read any more of them as it really isn't my thing. I have a friend who likes science fiction who has read and loved all of them. It is pretty deep which made it interesting.
