Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hahahahaha.... I meant I cheated, I didn't do it on my own :)

Went to start reading City of Ashes on my afternoon break and guess what was on my Kindle already... Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater !!!!! WOOHOO! So I started that!

Kourtni - I hope this means you are going to get yours earlier too!

Kourtni, Wish I could give you hope. I spent that entire book feeling like I only kind of knew what was going on. I did not enjoy it at all.

message 2408: by Susan (new)

Susan Bischoff (susan_bischoff) | 34 comments I'm reading [image error] which I'm really enjoying. And I ordered Brody's Ghost Book 1 by Crilley Mark and am looking forward to that.

message 2409: by Traci (new)

Traci Finished Georgia Nicholson already.. absolutely loved it. Now I have to decide between Heist Society, Bleeding Violet, and Body Finder.. hmm.. decisions decisions.

message 2410: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooo...read Body Finder so you can tell me what it's like. :)

message 2411: by Traci (new)

Traci That's what my roommate said, too, so I guess that shall be the winner :]

message 2412: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I'm currently reading A Conspiracy of Kings (The Queen's Thief, #4) by Megan Whalen Turner and having a hard time getting into it. The last two, though the stories were good, just haven't been as engaging as the first one was, which doesn't really make me excited for this one...

message 2413: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Shannen I read the Body Finder a few months back, I'll have to look it up to see whether I liked it or not. I think I gave it three stars. (Love my memory!)

message 2414: by [deleted user] (new)

My memory isn't any better, Peep!

message 2415: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) According to my review, they call her Vi-o-let a lot. I had a few problems with the book. I did end up giving it three stars, but it looks like a few other people here did too.

Amazon charged my account today! Ugh I hope it gets here fast! I HAVE to finish Lover Revealed first though.

Funny story - My husband was reading a steamy scene from Lover Revealed over my shoulder last night and he absolutely freaked out! He said I can't believe people even read this stuff and you talk to people about it on Goodreads! Bahahaha. I was like "Yeah, and we all REALLY like it! We're freaky porno book readers!" He's so funny. :)

Well crap! That's how I have felt thus far. I have little hope...

message 2418: by Crissy (new)

Crissy | 8 comments So I finished The Last Song yesterday.....moving on to Charlie St. Cloud. Pretty good so far.

message 2419: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Murphy | 96 comments I finished the first Sisters Grimm book The Fairy-Tale Detectives (The Sisters Grimm, #1) by Michael Buckley last night and I loved it! I couldn't put it down! I love it when I find a book like that. I've got [image error]
and Insatiable by Meg Cabot here, but I'm worried that I will become a couch sitting reading lump if I start either one of those.

message 2420: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni - I told my hubby last night that he needs to download the Kindle app to his phone so he would have access to my books. He wanted to know what books I have that he would be interested in (he reads Clive Cussler but has read Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse). I told him that I had books about big, bad vamps who "please" (that wasn't the word I used) their women all the time. He just smiled at me like I was crazy. LOL! But I AM going to get him to read those books! C'mon, I deserve it! ;)

message 2421: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Oh, yeah he should definately read those! I wish my hub would! The Kindle app on the IPhone is the best if you dont mind a small screen and "flipping" pages pretty often.

message 2422: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) You know can now get the US Kindle for 110$. Shannen let us know if your hubby likes them :P

Crissy | 8 comments Peep wrote: "You know can now get the US Kindle for 110$. Shannen let us know if your hubby likes them :P"

Can you really?!?! Through Amazon?

message 2424: by [deleted user] (new)

Amazon still shows it as $189. Where is it $110? I might get one for my hubby!

message 2425: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Peep wrote: "You know can now get the US Kindle for 110$. Shannen let us know if your hubby likes them :P"

Oh wow! Thats not bad at all. I just got an email about the new one being like $349 or something like that. But its all new and improved I suppose.

message 2426: by [deleted user] (new)

That's the new DX, Kourtni. It's the big one.

message 2427: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments My boyfriend teases me about my smutty books but has never actually read a scene where they get down to it - I am sure he would think I was crazy and that it was weird that I had an online book group that discussed the literary porn!

message 2428: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Sorry guys, I thought you knew. I got my hubby one as he hates his Sony Pocket. We're not sure what to do with it now that the prices are dropping everywhere.

Click on REFURBISHED for 109.99. You'll see it's being sold by Amazon Warehouse so if you have prme you can use it.

It's refurbished, which according to reports are new or don't look touched.

message 2429: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) It's the US version, so my understanding is that you can't buy books over the air or surf the internet while out of the country, but really, you can use the USB cord anyway.

message 2430: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Shannen - Yeah that's what it was! It looked pretty awesome!

Jaimie - I think it's so funny how my hub reacts. But it really is literary porn! I read a scene to him last night after he started freaking out and he just shook his head at me and told me I was a "dirty girl". Bahaha

message 2431: by [deleted user] (new)

I figure that our guys benefit from us reading these smutty books, if you know what I mean. *raises eyebrows* LOL!

message 2432: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Not sure, but it may be free 2 day shipping and 3.99 overnight. But I now have Prime so I don't know.

message 2433: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Got to love that!

LoL! Exactly! They should appreciate that we read them.

message 2435: by Bunny (new)

Bunny (bunnycates) Packing the kids and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova off to the pool today.

message 2436: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni - I think mine does. Haha!

Peep - That's such a good price! Is yours refurbished? Haven't ever bought anything that's refurbished.

message 2437: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I always buy used or refurbished if I can, I'm so used to it. Mine was not refurbished but my husband's is. I am waiting for him to get home from work to open it. I'll let you know what it's like. Like I said, people have been stating that the ones they've rec'd are new, or at least no visible sign of being refurbished. Amazon has excellent customer service so I wouldn't worry.

message 2438: by [deleted user] (new)

Looks like someone already snagged it. Oh well. Let me know what your husband's is like.

message 2439: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Shannen they go in and out of stock. If I catch it again I'll leave a message.

message 2440: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, Peep! I'm not sure that I want my hubby spending as much on books as I do though. Don't think our bank account could handle it! Haha!

message 2441: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) It's back!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listin...

Opened it up, looks new. Nothing on it says refurbished that I saw. Nothing on the device says so either. I'm updating his now and adding books.

message 2442: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Stefano (CandyPanda) | 17 comments lol at the conversation about all the naughty sections of books. That's the entire reason they are there in my opinion. Don't you think it's tough reading them in the summer though. Between steamy scenes and the heat, I'm likely to pass out!

About Beautiful Creatures, I felt the same way Mandi felt, Kourtni. Just couldn't get into it and ended up putting it down. some people like it, so maybe you'll have better luck.

message 2443: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Rachel - I'm about to put Beautiful Creatures back on the bookshelf, as much as I hate doing that, until I get bored and have nothing else I really want to read. Which could be never. Oh well.

Yes, I've read CRACKED UP TO BE and really enjoyed it. I'm just a big fan of Courtney's style of writing. Her next book comes out this December I think.

I think SOME GIRLS ARE is better than her first novel. Which is saying something because her first one was so good.

message 2447: by Julia (new)

Julia I'm currently reading a book of poems. Want to change it a little for me. After I finish the poems, I want to Speak.

message 2448: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Angus rocks! And the movie is super cute too. Kourtni I hated Beautiful Creatures, big snoozefest!

message 2449: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Murphy | 96 comments I loved Speak. Great story about triumph over tragedy.

message 2450: by Traci (new)

Traci Just finished The Body Finder and I liked it a lot.. much more romance than I thought it would be--but I'm okay with that. If romance isn't your thing then this one isn't for you.

Going to start Heist Society tomorrow :]
