Ooo that is on my Tbr. Let me know what you think Heidi.

I just started The Awakening today. So far the series is not AHmazing for me but it is really good. Good enough for me to finish the series before I start anything else anyways.

Lori (tyme2read) Laura, I Love Janet Evonavich's Stephanie Plum books. The always have me laughing so I get tears. I am currently waiting for #16 from the library. They are easy reads for summer.

message 2254: by [deleted user] (new)

Loved The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins starting Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins tonight or tomorrow on the plane to thailand ;)

I'm so exited for you!!! This is one of my favorite books this year (and I've read a LOT of books this year).

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments This is the first of hers that I read and I really enjoyed it! I just ordered the 2nd one from the library!

message 2258: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Kourtni - I thought Dark Divine was ok, but I just know you will love it! I am not as into the paranormal romances as you and Shannen. If you liked Twilight and Shiver, you will like it, as it is almost exactly the same thing!

message 2259: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni - I loved Dark Divine and Heidi thought it was OK so you'll probably love it. Haha!

I'm about one-third of the way though City of Bones and really like it. I didn't get to read at all this weekend so it's been slow going for me.

message 2260: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I told you you would like City of Bones Shannen. Ugh!

I love the mortal instruments. One of my favourite series

So take THAT, Heidi! :P

message 2263: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Hey! Can't we just agree to disagree? I like well written intelligent books and you don't (jk:)

message 2264: by [deleted user] (new)

We can agree to disagree, book snob. LOL!

I will say that City of Bones has been a little slow but still interesting.

message 2265: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I gave up on City of Bones after 100 (Very Loooooong) pages. Hated it! I did like Dark Divine - I gave it 3 stars, which for me means I liked it.

message 2266: by [deleted user] (new)

I tought city of ashes and glass were better than city of bones tho. the story started off slow, ill agree, but i stuck with it and loved it!

I'm reading Lies, not that far into it yet, but really enjoying. I agree; this is a great series. My students almost fought over it. :)

I wonder if anything will really be resolved in this book? Is there another book in the series?

message 2268: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments I just started reading The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (Mysterious Benedict Society, #2) by Trenton Lee Stewart .

message 2269: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Mardie there are three books in the Gone series so far, and I think there are going to be six total? I liked the first two, but can't get myself to read the third book because I know there are still three more after that one!

message 2270: by Traci (new)

Traci Mortal Instruments is one of my all time favorite series! I hope you like it Shannen. Jace is yummy!

Hi Heidi,
I know what you mean. Six books? I'm not usually one for series books in the first place, but lately they seem to be in vogue (Hunger Games, Dragon Tatoo, Gone, Twilight - which I did not read past the first). If I'd have known this was a series, a long series, I probably wouldn't have read Gone in the first place.

On the other hand, I like the characters in the Gone series and the plot brings in so much to think about . . .. Good thing I didn't know it was a series when I started. :)

Natasha | 24 comments I should be getting Hex Hall in the post tomorrow, so should be starting that. While I'm waiting for that I am finishing off Shutter Island.

I really liked that series. Are you loving it?

message 2275: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Mardie I mistakenly thought the Gone series was going to be three books, but then found out after book two I was wrong. I can handle 3 books, but the premise for the series just doesn't feel to me like it can last six books.

Becca- I used to read four books a week, but my reading has slowed tremendously since the weather got nice (and a guy entered the picture), so it may take me awhile to get through it. I'm only about two chapters in but it's definately holding my interest.

Rhonda Heidi wrote: "Mardie I mistakenly thought the Gone series was going to be three books, but then found out after book two I was wrong. I can handle 3 books, but the premise for the series just doesn't feel to me..."

Me too. I'll see how much Lies makes me want to read the rest of the series. There are so many good books out there that this one will really have to sell me, otherwise it's on to something else.

Good! I will read it soon then, thanks Heidi! ;)

Shannen - City of Bones does start off a little slow but it picks up, I promise. I don't remember really minding the slow parts much, though it has been a while since I've read it, I'll have to re-read.

Hi Shannen and Heidi. So I finished both Shiver and Perfect Chemistry, and I must admit, I still wasn't impressed. You're right, Heidi,Perfect Chemistry had way too many cliches. Shiver was okay, although I personally prefer Raised by Wolves in the werewolf domain.

Going to start on I Am the Messenger. I hear it's pretty good! If it's as good as the Book Thief, I'll be in paradise :)

message 2280: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni - I don't mind the slowness of the beginning either. It feels like I am getting to know the characters. I really like it so far.

Mercy - I loved both Shiver and Perfect Chemistry. Just different strokes for different folks. :) Besides, how many new ideas can there actually be? Most books are formulaic. I added Raised by Wolves to my TBR list.

message 2281: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Mercy I listened to I am the Messenger on audiobook and I loved it! It sounds like we have somewhat similar tastes, so I hope you do too :)

message 2282: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Okay, I also decided to start reading Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, #1) by Eoin Colfer .

I just ordered a whole bunch of books in the mail. So soon I will be reading The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan , The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins , Imaginalis by J.M. DeMatteis , and The Enemy by Charlie Higson .

That should keep me busy for a few months (I don't have a lot of reading time).

message 2283: by Kristin (new)

Kristin (kstarrsl) I want to start city of bones... is it worth it? I have so many others to read as well i dont know if i should wait or read it now =/

I you loved Twilight (which I did not), you will likely like City of Bones.

message 2285: by Kristin (new)

Kristin (kstarrsl) well i did like twilight... but i think i'll pass on reading city of bones for a while. i've got too many other ones to read first.

message 2286: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Just finished Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater I liked it. I wish the ending was more of a cliff hanger but I did like it.

I just started Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson I wanted a change and this one has been sitting on my shelf for a few months.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Peep wrote: "Starting on Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto by Eric Luper today."

I thought it was ok. I didn't love it, didn't really like it, but I didn't hate it. It reminded me of a Sarah Dessen book. I think people that like her books (or those like that) may love this one!

message 2293: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, All the libraries in our city are linked so there is probably a larger area waiting. I will probably have to wait for the book to be sent from library to library then back to mine.

Peep, that is onmy list to get on thusday too, if there is enought money left after getting what I need for bookclub reads, lol

message 2294: by Doug (new)

Doug Solter (dougsolter) Just finished Some Girls Are...by Courtney Summers. Great book.

Now reading Blood and Chocolate.

message 2295: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) So far it's pretty interesting. I put in on my tbr pile along time ago and now can't remember what it's about (I refuse to read the back).

Lori, it only comes in paperback so that should save you a few bucks.

message 2296: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments Peep-I'm a big fan of Sarah Dessen so I've put Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto on my TBR list. Thanks for the suggestion!

Doug-I currently have my library's copy of Some Girls Are good to hear it's worth the read. Have you read Cracked Up to Be, also by Summers?

Jackie-Good luck with the Wicked Lovely series. I've read all the books and thought they were ok. Wicked Lovely was my favorite and I felt the series kind of went downhill from there. I do look forward to the last book pulling it all together though. Let me know what you think.

message 2297: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Started The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong last night. I am really enjoying this series!

message 2298: by [deleted user] (new)

I knew you would, Kourtni! I'm liking City of Bones and can't wait for my lunch hour since I get to read more of it. :)

message 2299: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I'm so glad your liking it Shannen! I use my lunch break for reading as well and it's kind of torture. The book is sitting right next to me in my purse and I just get to look at it all day. I just want to pick it up and read! :(

message 2300: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I just picked up Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins from the library - I have heard some mixed reviews so I am going into it with no expectations. I need to remember about Courtney Summers because I really liked Cracked Up to Be.
