Traci so I know that there are a lot of Series That Must Not Be Named dislikers on here... but I just got back from the midnight showing and I loved it.. and am therefore abandoning Rebel Angels for the moment and rereading the series. It's a weakness. I apologize :x

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I'm currently reading Fake Boyfriend by Kate Brian . I thought the cover was cute and the premise interesting (I really just wondered if the author could make me believe that best friends would really create a fake boy for their friend). So far it's just ok. I can see that the motivation is pure, but can totally predict how it will all wrap up. I expected that from a book like this though...

Dija Alyssa wrote: "The Luxe. Started it yesterday. Actually pretty good - I wasn't expecting it to be!"

I adore this series. The drama, characters, plot, and especially the covers are all fantastic. <333

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Just finished Hush, Hush and it was okay. I enjoyed reading the last 100 pages or so, but up until that point it was just eh for me. I didn't connect with the characters and I didn't feel the connection between Nora and Patch and Nora was a little annoying. It was a great idea, just not executed as well as it could have been.

I'm starting The Summoning today.

message 2205: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Me too! I've heard good things so I'm excited!

message 2206: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni and Bluemoon - I love that series too! I think you're really going to like it, Kourtni. :)

Becca - The Help is SO fantastic! I love the relationship between all the women.

Traci - The only thing about the movie that I would change is that I would have put more of the soundtrack music into the movie. I love the soundtrack and maybe I missed it but it seemed like there were only a few songs in the movie. I'm ready to see it again!

Hahaha Traci! I watched Eclipse last night too and I was about to pick up the book to reread this morning, but I talked myself out of it. I have too many books to read! I don't know who I'm kidding, it is my weakness as well and I will probably end up reading it this week. :/ LoL

Heidi Becca wrote: "Finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and it was excellent. I loved the audio, only now I'm going around unconsciously speaking in a southern drawl. I love those women!"

Yeah :)

message 2209: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments P.S. I have a picture of Hilly's character stuck in my head. I keep thinking of the lady who was Truman's wife on "The Truman Show" with Jim Carrey. I can't think of her name. Anyway, everytime Hilly came up, that actress would totally flash through my head...Laura Linney I think.

Just finished Rules of Attraction (Perfect Chemistry, #2) by Simone Elkeles which I loved (no surprise there). It had a really steamy scene and the build up was great!

I'll be starting City of Bones (Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare today.

message 2213: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. I just started Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and I'm already a quarter through the book. I also preordered Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins . I can't wait for it to come out!

message 2214: by Kristin (new)

Kristin (kstarrsl) I'm reading Lies by Michael Grant. It's the third book in his Gone series and it is amazing. Honestly, if you've never read Gone you should pick it up. Gone, Hunger, and then Lies. They are suspenseful and interesting and really worth it.

I just started that last night :)

message 2218: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackie1301) | 75 comments I am about finishing the 2nd book of the Dark Swan Series - Thorn Queen - Next read will be the Wicked Lovely Series, which I only heard fantastic reviews of!

message 2219: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackie1301) | 75 comments @Heidi - The 2nd Black Dagger book is also in my shelf waiting for me!

message 2220: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 4 comments I've read the first Last Apprentice & so did my son, who is 11. We enjoyed it a lot--thought it might be too creepy for him, but he loved it. (and I don't usually like horror, but the storyline was good enough to hold me.)

I just finished "Before I Fall"--at first I wasn't sure I could get into all the teen party scenes/popular bitchy girls, but have to say that the idea that everything we do has repercussions was very well done & something I have been thinking a lot about since finishing. About to start "Kiki Strike"...

message 2221: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I am reading Before I Fall by Lauren oliver. GREAT book, I am giving it 5 stars. The main character is a high school girl who dies in a car crash and gets to relive the day she dies over and over, and she tries to make things right. Great book, I'm almost done. I've laughed and cried, so good!

message 2222: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (closer2coma86) | 83 comments I just finished Fallen by Lauren Kate and have to say I was not impressed. I went in with high expectations and came out disappointed. I didn't like Luce and I didn't like Daniel.

Now I'm starting Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning (not YA, I know) thanks to all the fantastic reviews!

message 2223: by Alicia (new)

Alicia (aliciaftw) I'm reading The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman. My sister told me to read this trilogy ages ago, and I didn't bother. I really wish I had, the story is so good so far!

message 2224: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon - I listened to the first book in the dark materials series on audio, but was not a huge fan. I don't get into religious stuff in my fiction.

Victoria wrote: "Now I'm starting Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning (not YA, I know) thanks to all the fantastic reviews!"

Hope you love it and catch the fever!

message 2226: by Shawn (new)

Shawn (MostleyDead) | 1 comments The last book for the Fever series is due out this December, 5 in all. Good stuff.

message 2227: by Traci (new)

Traci nope.. they postponed it.. the last book in the Fever series comes out January 18th :[ a couple weeks later than expected but apparently it's going to be double the size of the other books

Heidi Traci wrote: "nope.. they postponed it.. the last book in the Fever series comes out January 18th :[ a couple weeks later than expected but apparently it's going to be double the size of the other books"

WTH??? Now it's Jan. Ugh!

message 2229: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) That stinks. And double the size?? Ummm, it better not be because of Mac's yapping!

message 2230: by [deleted user] (new)

Heidi and Peep - She is still Black Mac, not Pink Mac so the yapping should be better. ;)

message 2231: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon wrote: "HEIDI: never really read book that deals with religion, well except Dan Brown stuff and I just read them for fun. No serious discussion..."

Yes. The Davinci Code was the only fiction book I make an exception for, but I knew what I was getting into with that one.

message 2232: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Shannen wrote: "Heidi and Peep - She is still Black Mac, not Pink Mac so the yapping should be better. ;)"

True!

message 2233: by [deleted user] (new)

Starting The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins . Finally ;p I am abit behind everyone else here on that ;p

message 2234: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Heidi, you should read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I liked it so much more than Davinci Code. It's by far my favorite that he has written.

message 2235: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, My Husband would agree completely with Becca. They are on my tbr list but other books keep jumping infront to be read first, lol

message 2236: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (vonnie20) I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia. I'm really liking it. I like how it's from a male POV as all the other books I've read were from a female POV. It's a nice change.

I have! I really liked it. I am still trying to get to his latest book.

message 2239: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am reading The Dark Divine (The Dark Divine, #1) by Bree Despain .

message 2240: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Dan Brown's latest book sucked imo. The last threeish chapters should have been completely edited out. The action part of the book was pretty good, but the last three chapters totally killed the book for me. Ugh!

I started Beautiful Creatures too. I also think it's interesting b/c it's from a guy's POV.

So far i love it ! It had me captivated by page 1 ;) Its really hard to put the book down. I even had to go into town today to buy Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins for my thailand trip ;)

message 2243: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Starting on Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto by Eric Luper today.

message 2244: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I just finishedThe Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella It was ok, did grab me like the others did. Might have been because the ending is already set in stone, so I knew how it would end.

I started Shiverthis morning and so far it has my attention.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Will do. I'm not sure what it's about, since I just read the first sentence of the synopsis. But it's got great reviews, soooooooo :) I think I'll like it.

Shiver was a major let-down for me :( I can see how some people would like it, but, personally, it did not create multi-dimensional characters and the plot was unbelievable. But that is just me, so i hope you like it better than I did!

message 2248: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Kristin,
I am about 90 pages into shive. So far so good. I might read YA books with a different mind set though. I don't only read to enjoy them, which I do immensly, but I also read them to see what my Sonmight like. He is only 8 and nowhere near the reading level for YA books yet but he definately has my taste in books. His favorite series right now is Beast Quest, and I LOVE reading them with him!

message 2249: by Kristin (new)

Kristin (kstarrsl) Lori, i am glad you like it! and that is very cute that you are already looking out for future books for your son :) my mom and i did that when i was younger (way younger) and i loved it!!

message 2250: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I am getting ready to start Graceling. It's been on my TBR pile forever, but someone stole the library copy and I had to wait for the new copy to arrive. Luckily I was at the top of the waiting list! I've heard nothing but good things, so I'm very much looking forward to it!
