message 2153: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I just joined this group this morning, thanks to my friend Becky. I am currently reading Aurelia and have read the first couple pages of The Second Short Life Of Bree Tanner.

I am excited to see that the few books I have seen mention here so far I have either on my shelf waiting for me OR are t least already on ly to-read list.

message 2154: by Heidi (new)

Heidi If you just joined Lori, watch out! Your tbr pile will grow out of control.

message 2155: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, I have been on GR for a while and yes, my list is quite long. I am scared to see what it will be like now that I have found this group, lol

message 2156: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Thank you Emily, that one sounds good too.I just added to my tbr list. I just wish I had more time to read, lol. and the real kicker is my boys are done school on Wed so I will have even less time, lol.

message 2157: by rosyaffair (new)

rosyaffair (_lifeismusic_) | 14 comments I am currently reading Saving Rafael by Leslie Wilson and How To Ruin My Boyfriend's Reputation by Simone Elkeles. Simone is an amazing writer and it seems real once you read her books. Check her out?

message 2158: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Thank you Bluemoon.
My husband and neighbor are out by the bonfire, is it bad that I want to stay in here and read, lol

message 2159: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Second Helpings this morning. Oh, how I love Marcus Flutie. This one had such a good ending that I'm stopping there for a while and will read something else next. Maybe Rules of Attraction or Leaving Paradise.

Heidi Shannen wrote: "I finished Second Helpings this morning. Oh, how I love Marcus Flutie. This one had such a good ending that I'm stopping there for a while and will read something else next. Maybe ..."

Told you Second Helpings is good. Read Leaving Paradise. I did not like the first Perfect Chemistry.

message 2161: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Starting North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley tonight.

message 2162: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon wrote: "started Gregor the Overlander (Underland Chronicles, #1) by Suzanne Collins"

I listened to this on audio and really liked it.

message 2163: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I love his little sister.

message 2164: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Emily (Super Reader Girl Reviews) wrote: "I've heard those are good....I'm guessing no romance though, right? :)"

I only read the first one, but he is fairly young, so I would say no to the romance.

message 2165: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Loving The Help right now! I'm about halfway through it. Great read!

message 2166: by [deleted user] (new)

That's one of my fave non-YA books, Becca. I just loved Aibileen.

message 2167: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Isn't that an awesome read. I loved how I got so caught up in the book the I actually felt all the emotions along with the Characters!!

message 2168: by [deleted user] (new)

I started Dark Lover and so far it is just OK. Tried to buy Leaving Paradise for my Kindle and it wasn't available so I bought Rules of Attraction instead.

message 2169: by Mercy (new)

Mercy | 9 comments Just in the middle of Perfect Chemistry andShiver . Not entirely blown away for the time being. We'll see

message 2170: by Kourtni (last edited Jun 28, 2010 08:54AM) (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I need to get around to reading The Help. I have heard nothing but good about it, but I just don't know if that will be a book I can get into.

Aww Shannen I thought you would really like the BDB books! I'm about to order Lover Revealed, can't wait to read it!

message 2171: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Oh and I just started Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick . It's okay so far.

message 2172: by [deleted user] (new)

Kourtni - I'm going to keep reading it so we'll see how it goes. I like Wrath so that helps. And you really need to read The Help! It is a great book and the characters are wonderful women. I liked Hush, Hush when I read it and I will read the sequel but it isn't a mind blowing kind of book.

Mercy - I really liked both of those books. You'll have to let us know what you think when you've finished them. :)

message 2173: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Shannen- I really liked Wrath too and he is not even my favorite brother. I hope it gets better for you. That's kind of how I feel about Hush, Hush. It might not be amazing but it's interesting enough. I will have to bump The Help up on my TBR list if it is that good!

message 2174: by [deleted user] (new)

The Help really IS that good. Really.

message 2175: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yes Kourtni! You must read the Help ASAP! It is one of my favorite books ever.

message 2176: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Mercy wrote: "Just in the middle of Perfect Chemistry andShiver . Not entirely blown away for the time being. We'll see"

I just finished Perfect Chemistry and was not a fan. It was WAY to chiche and predictable for me. Luckily for me, I started North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley right afterwards and that restored my faith that a smart and wonderful YA romance can still be found out there.

message 2177: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Okay, okay you guys convinced me! Especially since it is your favorite book ever Heidi! :) I will squeeze it in soon. Ugh I am getting overwhelmed with all the books I want to read! I wish I read faster...

message 2178: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I highly recommend the audio of it Kourtni!

message 2179: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Oooo maybe I will try that! It will be my first, I'm an audio virgin. :)

message 2180: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Then it's definitely a good one to start with. The audio has been fabulous so far.

message 2181: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Becca wrote: "Then it's definitely a good one to start with. The audio has been fabulous so far."

Ohh yeah! Someone else that is listening to it on audio that I can talk to. Aren't the 3 narrators wonderful?

message 2182: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm an audio virgin too. If I had a long commute, I would definitely go the audiobook route.

message 2183: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I'm thinking about puting it on my ipod and listening to it at work! I need to get all set up to get audio from the library I suppose, it looks pretty expensive if you're buying.

message 2184: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments The three different narrators are fantastic. I love all of them. I was surprised at how young Skeeter sounded until I realized she was only 23. Made me laugh at myself.

message 2185: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (prairiedances) | 17 comments Just finished reading The Deathday Letter. Love it. Has anyone else read it?

Heidi I loved North of Beautiful! I didn't always follow the mapping references but it made me want to start geocaching

message 2189: by Dija (new)

Dija I loved North of Beautiful as well. It was so sweet and not really all that predictable. I didn't have a particular liking for relationships where the dude is younger than the female before reading this book, but I'm cured of that prejudice now. :3

Oh and I'm currently reading Nightfall (The Vampire Diaries The Return, #1) by L.J. Smith

message 2190: by Jo (new)

Jo | 16 comments I just finished Sloppy Firsts. I'm torn about this book. I kind of liked it, but I didn't love it. After reading some of the comments on this thread, though, I think I'll give the second one a try. Now I'm reading Backseat Saints by Joshilyn Jackson

message 2191: by Susan (new)

Susan I am now reading Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr and am loving it!

message 2192: by [deleted user] (new)

Now im reading Sea Glass (Glass, #2) by Maria V. Snyder . Love it so far

message 2193: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (maezyreads) I am currently reading Nightfall (The Vampire Diaries The Return, #1) by L.J. Smith and Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs .

I'm finding it hard to read Nightfall. It just isn't grabbing me. I am also trying to start Thirst No. 2 Phantom, Evil Thirst, Creatures of Forever by Christopher Pike and once again it is just not grabbing me.

message 2194: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I am starting The Year Of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty today.

message 2195: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments The Luxe. Started it yesterday. Actually pretty good - I wasn't expecting it to be!

message 2196: by Traci (new)

Traci I'm on Rebel Angels by Libba Bray and it's going pretty slowly for me. I'm only about 200 pages in but it feels like I've been reading it forever :[

I loved that trilogy...well until something happened and I hated it.

message 2199: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I got that one in the mail yesterday, will start it in a few books.

message 2200: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and it was excellent. I loved the audio, only now I'm going around unconsciously speaking in a southern drawl. I love those women!
