I'm really liking
. Jessica is a hoot! Can't wait to see where this Marcus Flutie thing is going since I know it goes SOMEWHERE from reading all of Heidi's posts about him. :)

I'm still listening to The Reformed Vampire Support Group and I am not really enjoying it. I have 3 discs to go, and I don't want to leave it unfinished. Besides, I'm listening at work - and it's definitely more interesting than working in silence. But, ugghh, it feels like a chore.

Ok I will be done with the audiobooks for
and
today. Sarah Drew is the narrator of the Carrie Diaries. I loved her as Hannah on Everwood, so naturally I love her on this audiobook :) I am also just liking the book itself. I am really , really, enjoying the audio for Year of Secret Assignments, and highly recommend it for people like the Jessica Darling series or books like that.
Just finished The Sky Is Everywhere. What a beautifully written book! I'd read anything this author writes in the future. The book took a little while to pull me in, but I fell in love as the story progressed.Okay, now I'm back on to Dreamfever. I'm about a third of the way through. Trying to spread out my reading of this series because December is far away! I'm sort of failing at that right now, though.
Mandi wrote: "Just read The Truth about Forever which I loved. Finally starting The Help."Yeah! Hope you love The Help.
Laura - The Sky is Everywhere is towards the top of my tbr list, so glad to hear you liked it. Hope you are enjoying Dreamfever.
Laura - I plan on reading the entire Fever series (again) in November and December. It's addictive!
just finished Incarceron and I actually enjoyed it. It may have been because I set my standards really low (how sad) but I found myself really wanting to find out what was going to happen. The beginning was pretty slow, but I thought it picked up about 100 or so pages in.

I liked the first three books, couldn't get through the fourth, and then loved the fifth. But overall I liked the series and Marcus Flutie ;)
I was re-reading HP and the Half-Blood Prince but lost the book at the airport. Now I have to buy another copy ... or my series is incomplete.

Okay... I'm about half way through Faefever. I've gotta say the 1st book wasn't so great for me. It felt very incomplete. Actually after I finished book #2 I felt as if I had read an entire book instead of 2. The series has definitely picked up and I'm enjoying it a lot more. I just have to know what happens!!

Ohhhh that stinks!

I am reading "Storm Born" (Dark Swan Series) by Richelle Mead at the moment and I am liking it - it's an absolute recommend.

I am amending my previous statement. Finished Faefever tonight. Really liked it. I'm a bit torn. I already picked up Dreamfever from the library so I'm sure I'll start it tomorrow, but I also feel like this is a good place to sit and wait until the 5th book comes out in Dec. Especially if the cliffhanger at the end of Dreamfever is as crazy as you all seem to say it is. I can feel a real shift coming in the 4th book. As stated I'm sure I'll start book 4 tomorrow because I have no self control (and I might be slightly excited to talk to you all about it and I hate spoilers). I'm just hoping it's not going to feel incomplete like Darkfever.
I'm going to try to read The Knife of Never Letting Go...again. I need some inspiration! If I fall asleep while trying to read it one more time I am just going to give up, which is really hard for me to do. :/
Just finished Sloppy Firsts and I wasn't feeling the Marcus Flutie thing until the end. Now all of my other books are on hold so I can read Second Helpings. I love Jessica Darling. She is a little more angsty and a lot smarter than I was when I was a teenager but I can SO relate to her!
Brittany - Yay! But you HAVE to read Dreamfever so we can all talk about it! Then you'll just have to re-read it in December. ;)
Kourtni - I don't think I'm ever going to get around to reading that one. So many mixed reviews that it doesn't even excite me anymore.

I don't blame you Shannen. I can't even give a solid reason why I can't get into it. It's just not sucking me in. :( I did get discracted by the Fever series and BDB right in the middle of it, that could be my problem.
Traci wrote: "Jenna: I bought that book forever ago because I thought it looked funny and then forgot about it. You'll have to let me know how it is :]"I just finished The Reformed Vampire Support Group this morning. I hated it - one star. I just posted my review.
I'm not sure what to read next, but I think I need a bit of a break after that exhausting book!
I just finished Perfect Chemistry and I liked, not loved it. There were a lot of parts that I went with even though I thought they were a little far fetched but overall it was a really sweet(not sure if that is the right word but I'll just stick with it) story with a little cheese on the side. I guess I am going to have to read Rules of Attraction.
Ohmigod! I just watched the book trailer for PC and I am sooooooooooo glad I did not watch it before I read the book! That was ... I can't even come up with the appropriate words.

LOL! I know! Worst book trailer EVER!

Jaimie wrote: "Ohmigod! I just watched the book trailer for PC and I am sooooooooooo glad I did not watch it before I read the book! That was ... The video was far more entertaining and Leaving Paradise was better.
Yeah Shannen! You'll love Second Helpings I just know it! You sound like I did after book one. I liked it enough to read book two, but was not 100% sold on the series yet.
Kourtni - sorry you have not gotten in The Knife of Never Letting Go. It took me awhile too, but I did eventually. Perhaps it is just not for you. Plus, it is way different that BDB and the Fever series. It's ok not to finish it. I gave up on Sabriel after I fell asleep 3 different times trying to read it.

You may be right, it might not be for me.
Bluemoon wrote: "*sigh* I haven't even bought the book yet. A Knife of Never Letting go...-_-'"I am betting you may like it more than Kourtni Bluemoon, just from looking at your already read books.

Oh no... I got Knife of Never Letting Go from the library. It's next on my list to read. I, like Kourtni, have been distracted by the Fever series lately. I really want it to be good.
Ok I sat down and made myself read more KoNLG last night. It's like a switch was flipped around page 110-120ish. I am honestly enjoying it now. I actually got about 150 pages in before I fell asleep this time! LoL! But that's because it was 1:30am and I was sleepy, not because I was bored. :) So thanks Heidi for telling me to stick it out!
I liked KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO until they killed off a character that ruined the whole book for me. Too much violence. I felt the author slashed his cast of characters too easily. But that's just my opinion.I do love the HUNGER GAMES which has a lot of violence, too, but there was a lot of success, too, which felt balanced, and left a lot of hope for things to get better.
Isn't it funny how some things bother us in one book but not in another? LOL, I do that a lot, too!! (a lot!).I also like KoNLG until something happened that I didn't like. I mentioned it in another group and got my head bitten off. :P
Oh no! I will be upset if I stuck it out just to be dissapointed in the end! Now I will be wondering the whole time who is going to die and when. :/ blech.
I am reading an ARC of Kiss Me Deadly, which is 13 short girly fantasy YA stories. Is an EXCELLENT way to figure out which authors to follow next. So far I've decided I need to chase down anything else written by Sarah Rees Brennan.
Sorry! But don't worry, it's not one of the main characters. And it happens more around the middle. But it made me angry that the author didn't care enough about his characters. It's take a lot of thought before I kill off any of my characters, and even in THE SEER series, when someone dies in #6, it is not a major character so no one will feel the loss.
I'm reading Fallen by Lauren Kate. I've been looking forward to this book for a while but am a little nervous because of the mixed reviews.
Ummm yeah! Perhaps a *spoiler alert* should be used in the future when discussing major points of books.

Ha! Good times Peep. Good times. Kourtni I am glad it has gotten better for you. Remember it is a a series, so things that happen may come up later in the series. Things aren't always as they seem.
Just finished reading The Captive, Part II and The Power not sure what to make of it. I enjoyed it mainly for the witchcraft theme which I always enjoy in books..but between the two books the story was very drawn out and not a lot seemed to happen. Still a good read though just not what I expected.
I just finished The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson and loved loved loved it. I read it in a few hours and just couldn't put it down. Another great YA book!

I am very upset about the something that happened, if we are talking about the same something. I did not handle it well. I am too soft when it comes to that stuff. :(
But maybe sometimes an author has to kill off a character that we care about - so we feel the loss and pain of bereavement secondhand. It's a brave thing to do, and lots of authors won't face up to it. I think the KoNLG is an unusually brave book for doing something the author knows readers will find devastating (and yes, I did too).
