Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion
What are you reading now?
Shannen I like them that way!Wow, that sounded bad. You know what I mean though. Great. Now I can't wait to read it.
I just finished Spirit Bound #5 (VA series). Not sure what I'm going to start next, my to-read list is huge. :)
Sheila wrote: "I've just started FAERY REBELS: SPELL HUNTER by R.J. Anderson."I am reading this one too, so far its okay. Its not going real fast for me though. Are you liking it?
I finished "The Sky Is Everywhere" and I LOVED LOVED it! I thought the writing was beautiful. I loved the poems that start each chapter. I highly recommend it.
Okay, I just finished Perfect Chemistry. Holy Horses! Is that book ever racey!! Do teenagers really read that stuff? I admit that it is a captivating love story with characters that you really like. But...WHOA!
Lana - I think I have that one on my TBR list. If not, I'm going to add it.
Mandi - Yes, it was racy but I think the average 16-17 year old probably has some racy moments (or at least thoughts). ;)

Jaimie wrote: "I really liked Will Grayson!"Jaimie - I downloaded the mp3 audiobook of this one, it is up next for me :)

Oh Peep! I decided to read Perfect Chemistry because it got better reviews than Leaving Paradise and now I am confused! p.s. when you have time go to the author's fan page on here and scroll down to the perfect chemistry youtube video. It is the cheesiest of cheese (if that even makes sense). I laughed my butt off at it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh my goodness that was hilarious!!! Wow!I'm more than halfway done with it, so my feelings might change. Right now, it's just ok for me. The trailer is much better!
Lana wrote: "I finished "The Sky Is Everywhere" and I LOVED LOVED it! I thought the writing was beautiful. I loved the poems that start each chapter. I highly recommend it."I absolutely adored this book. I cried at least 4 times and I barely ever cry during books. I definitely recommend it :D
That video is horrible! WTH was that?!
Now you really made me more curious about "Perfect Chemestry"... LOL...Think this will be something I read in the near future!
I thought Perfect Chemistry was cheesy and cliche. I may have to re-read it. I agree the video is awesomely bad though, lol!
Traci wrote: "I don't know what you guys are talking about. That trailer was amazing XD"Ha! I hope you are being sarcastic.
I think it's funny that it's her book trailer and not a fan made one. But oh well, if I hadn't read the book before the trailer, I would have read it after! And Heidi you could read either one. I like this one, but I like Leaving Paradise better - so far. I'm telling you now that I WILL be reading the rest of both series.
The video was better than Twilight. (I say it with live Shannen)!
As for PC, I could have sworn I saw a trailer for a movie along the same lines. Can't remember where though. All I remember is a train and a gang member with a tattoo over his face.
Also, this book semi/kinda reminds me of the movie Keith (which I really liked!)
Grrrr! The video was NOT better than Twilight! But I still like you, Peep! ;)
The video was just bad on so many levels. The guy was wimpy. The girl was horrible. And then to have the author pop up at the end of the video. Argh!

Hahaha. That video is the worst everrrr. If they wanted to scare people away: goal accomplished! :-)

It's a crying shame that you can't tell :p
I've given up on spelling! I finally finished Perfect Chemistry and am trying to get in at least one more book before the end of the month. Would be awesome if I could get two done.
Peep - I spell everything wrong on here and it drives me insane when I see my spelling errors! I started
on audio. Question for you Will Grayson readers -- since I am listening to the audio I am not sure which author is writing about which Will. I am fairly certain that John Green wrote the first part with the Will that is friends with the gay friend. It seems like his writing style. Am I correct??
I am within the Georgina Kincaid (Succubus) series right now... not YA but very mature :-)... Finished first book last night and started 2nd this morning.
Just finished the second book in the Midnighters series Touching Darkness. I really like this series. One of the characters is annoying in that brooding sort of way. But in this book, she is finally finding a way to manage her power (which is also a curse) and I'm excited to see how she develops in the next book.
I'm starting Going Too Far. If I remember correctly, Chachic loves this book and I can't wait to read it. :)

haha :) just kidding. Unlike characters, real people get better with a little maturity.
Getting to the end of The Sea of Trolls. It's been a lot of fun, a few strange curves in the plot, but definitely enjoying it.
Just started The Summoning.. I've only read the prologue but I'm already intrigued.. I have a good feeling about this one :]
I loved The Summoning, that whole series kept my interest really well. Plus, it ended exactly how I wanted it to.I tried Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Jamie, but I couldn't stomache it. So I moved on to Evermore, which was enjoyable enough, though there seemed to be a lot of similarities between its characters and Edward and Bella, at least to me. I also thought that Damen was hard to buy, maybe because you get so few actual details about him. I didn't love it, but will probably read the next one. Did I read that some of you wondered why you couldn't give up on that series?
Traci - The Summoning is very good. I loved the trilogy.
Finished
in less than a day. I really liked it. Thanks for recommending it, Chachic!
Starting
tonight. ABC Family has a new series based on these books starting next week so I wanted to finish the first book before the series started.
Also have to squeeze in a re-read of
before June 29th. :)

Heidi, you are right the bff of Tiny is John Green's Will. How do you like it?I read
this weekend and liked it. It kept suprising me just when I was sure I had it all figured out. I will def pick up the next one. Right now I am rereading The Hunger Games!
Yeah Jaimie! It doesn't seem like a book you'd (by you, I mean I) would like, but it's actually really good. BTW, I've officially upped my rating for Perfect Chemistry.
I am reading Fell right now which is the sequel to The Sight and it is really good...Also, I started Beautiful Creatures while at Barnes & Noble :-)
Jaimie (and Peep) - I checked out a copy of Leaving Paradise from the library on Sat. Jaimie - I am liking Will Grayson so far. Thanks for the answer by the way. I knew it had to be John Green. I like his Will better so far, but perhaps that is because I am not gay. Who knows!
