Currently listening to Jane Eyre just started so not sure what to think. I am re-reading Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer as my workout-treadmill book and it is my favorite series. and I am about to start Nobody's Princess by Esther Friensner, anyone heard of it or know much about it?

I'm currently reading The Dark Divine. I'm only a few chapters in and I am throughly intrigued. I have already started guessing at some of the mysteries and I hope I'm wrong because I like being surprised.

I'm a little late on the Beautiful Creatures book and haven't even rated it on my list. I read it before Christmas and it was okay, probably a three star. I agree, the cover draws you to the book! I just read another new book with a beautiful cover that I did not like at all, but it is getting five stars all over the place, so maybe just me?'

I read Nobody's Princess Mindy. It was alright. I liked it enough that I've got the second one on my tbr pile, but not enough to run out and get the entire series like I did with the Alanna books. It was refreshing to see Helen as a strong woman rather than an object to be fought over.

After all that I'm afraid to start Beautiful Creatures...lol. I read Shiver and finished it. I actually liked it! It was pretty heartfelt :).

Now I'm reading Seers of Light by Jennifer DeLucy and re-reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins at the same time.

I am reading Numbers by Rachel Ward and it is very very good!! I can't put it down!!!

The other book with a pretty cover that really disappointed me is Shadow of the Sun. And it has a lot of 5 stars from others so maybe just me although I have a friend who read it and pretty much felt the same way - she is not on here tho. The story is a good idea, but the wimpy sugary hero and some other parts of the development ruined it for me. I was kinder about it in my review than I really felt.

Has anyone else read Angel Star? I'm reading it right now and really like the characters but it has abrupt transitions that are confusing. I'm not a critical reader but I seem to notice this throughout this book. For example, the MCs will be standing in front of the school talking and in the next paragraph, the wind is blowing through her hair as they're driving down the road.

I think Heidi and Peep are influencing me!

Brittany, I am loving Jane Eyre the language is beautiful. I think the reader is doing better than if were to read it myself. Do you have any thoughts on Wurthing Hights?

I posted a review of Wuthering Heights on the GR website (spoiler free). Definitely feel free to check it out. I went old school and read it though, so if you were looking for audio I can't really help you. It is however a fantastic book that I highly recommend! Just be prepared, it's NOT a feel good book like Jane Austen.

I have just finished reading Teenagers stranded on a spooky Island, and death! in the style of the old 'Point Horror' Series I read as a teen. Really fast read, enjoyed.

My daughter took my proof copy to school on Friday and she said ten or fifteen of her friends wanted to read it : ) Hopefully that trend will continue. Yes I have read the first book 'The Spooks Apprentice'. The author came to visit my local libary and a small group of us got chance to chat with him, and as him questions.(he also signed a bookmark!)I did not read the rest in the series though as I found parts to be a bit too gruseome for my liking. Probalbly not overly bad for most people, it just had a dark undercurrent that I didnt like, and I knew they got more gruesome as the book go on, as the author told us so himself! The reviews among the group thought it quite dark and deppressing for a YA book. I enjoyed the story and the way it was written, but 'Blood cakes' and missing limbs is not my thing so gave them a miss...Hope this helps a little :)

Both my son and I have read all of these books and have enjoyed them. I personally did not find them all that gruesome.

I don't think I could read a whole book on the computer - my eyes start to strain after a couple chapters (hence the reason I still haven't finished Maria V. Snyder's Power Study online) but print would work for me!

Print will always be the standard but I have to admit on my trip home, my cousin had a kindle and I played around on it... now I really want one. Before I just kind of wanted one but well I think if my bf doesn't get me one for my birthday in August I may take that solo reading vacation we talked about in retaliation.
