I'm half way through The Book Thief now, but I too, think my love for it has more to do with the characters themselves then the storyline. Of course, I do find the story line great and the suspense of not knowing what will come next is good, but I fell in love with all of the characters, even Rosa.
I'm reading a bunch of books, at the moment. I think I'm the most into Beautiful Creatures but I'm also reading Looking for Alaska. I think so I don't become a flustered mess I'm going to take a break from Looking for Alaska so I can finish Beautiful Creatures without having to re-read everything.THE BOOK THIEF I WANT TO READ THAT SO BADDDDDD AHHHHH
so many books to read, not enough time
I'm only a few pages into Looking for Alaska but it's awesome so far :)but it's john green so of course it's awesome
I'm new to this group, and relatively new to Goodreads as well. :) I'm currently reading the fifth book in A Song of Ice and Fire, A Dance With Dragons (if anyone is unaware, this series inspired the TV show Game of Thrones). Highly, highly recommend.
I'm also a little way into The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which I should've gotten around to reading awhile ago, but never did!
I've scanned the posts on this page, and just wanted to comment about John Green - I've read Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska, and The Fault in Our Stars. TFIOS was the favorite for me, as it is for most fans of his. Looking for Alaska was next; I loved the profound ending. Paper Towns, though...it didn't really do it for me. Not my favorite read. Love Green's writing style, but the plot was lacking, in my opinion.
I'm reading Ignite me right now. It's good but I'm only about 9 chapters in. IThis is the final book in the shatter me series, and this series had been awesome!

Oh TFIOS is my all time favorite bookI HAVE SHATTER ME OMFG I NEED TO FINISH SO MANY DIFFERENT BOOKS
I was reading the last book of "dark materials" by Philip Pullman but could not finish it. It kind of got boring......but liked the first two though I will finish it soon.
Hey, guys, I was just wondering if Vampire Academy is worth the read. I know the movie is out now, and I know it's pretty popular, but I was just looking for some honest comments about it without reading through the 3000 reviews. :)

To Anne: You should pick it up! It's definitely worth the read. I'm currently reading the series as well. I've got all 6 to marathon in preparation of the movie, but from what I've read, it's very enjoyable.
Since my last post:
Currently reading:
PS. Does anybody else seem to feel that the Vampire Academy series is a whole lot like the Half-Blood/Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout?
I'd definitely recommend that one for those who enjoyed theVampire Academy series.
Haley, Hails, Whatever wrote: "i'll have to check that one out because i loved the vampire academy series"You should! It's one of my all time favorites!
Thanks, guys! I'm going to download the audio for my vacation and listen to it on the drive. I did the Infernal Devices series last time. Can't wait to do Vampire Academy.
I've finished reading the Abandon trilogy by Meg Cabot. I really enjoyed it since it is loosely based on the Persephone and Hades myth. This afternoon I started Frost Bite (the second book in the Vampire Academy series). I want to get to the theaters to see Vampire Academy if the snow would ever stop!
ugh the snow it's horriblei should be getting my books from barnes and noble on tuesday :) at least i'll have something to do over my break now.
i really really want to see vampire academy, but i don't even have a cinema in my town D:
I just started "Hollow City" by Ransom Riggs! I'm so beyond excited about this book. I absolutely loved the first book. Has anyone read "Hollow City" yet?

Haha I know how you feel!
I'm reading Blood Promise it is so amazing and I'm sad about Dimitri but I hope Rose makes it to freedom or at least back to the Academy
I just finished reading CRESS by Marissa Meyer and it was SOOO good. Hate having to wait probably a year for #4 WINTER. Great series1
I'm currently reading, The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I just finished An Abundance of Katherines by Green. I kept seeing how people thought he was one of the best YA authors. Which of his books is your favorite?
I just downloaded Cress. I love that series. I just finished reading the two books in the Arcana Series: Poison Princess and Endless Knight. Talk about cliff hangers....
I'm reading Robin McKinley's Chalice. I love some of her other books, but I'm not sure what to think of Chalice.
I'm reading Dr. Frankenstein's Daughters. It's a novel about Ingrid and Giselle, the supposed twin daughters of Dr. Frankenstein, told through their letters and diary entries. It's really good so far!
Jillian wrote: "Rereading Under The Never Sky in perpetration for the third installment."I am, too. Mostly because I forgot what happened in book 2, so thought...oh might as well reread all of them. haha

I just got Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Cinder, Beautiful Darkness, Cruel Beauty, and The Book Thief in the mail yesterday and and haven't read any of them yet D: I can't seem to focus on reading arghh
I finished reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It was a terrific book. Just as good as readers had said it was. I started the Ruby Red trilogy and have already finished Ruby Red and am now reading Sapphire Blue.
I'm reading the Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout and I'm enjoying it. It is similar to the Vampire Academy series.
I am currently reading Bloodlines the spinoff series to the Vampire Academy books I'm on page 244. As of feb,15,2014
I'm reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. <3 I'm also reading Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. :) I'm planning on finishing the Harry Potter series, then read The Shatter Me series. I'm so excited. <3
I am reading Cinder - 1st book in the Lunar Chronicles series. A futuristic retelling of an old tale.Very good so far
Still reading the covenant series by Jennifer armentrout. On the 4th book and enjoying it. Very reminiscent of the vampire academy.
