I liked the beginning but the second part was more of a drag for me. Overall it was worth the read though :)

I thought this book was amazing. It kept me interested the entire time. I'm a big fan of books that keep me guessing. I love DofS&B for that reason. I just remember racking my brain going, "What does he do with the TEETH!?!? What are the teeth FOR!???" I loved it. I'm incredibly excited about the next book. And the cover for it looks beautiful. Can't wait!

Tina ♥ Bookaholic (martinabookaholic) Hahah, yeah, I thought the same about the TEETHS - I just had no clue and then it was really great how it turned out and what they are fore *great*
But for me the second part about Madrigal was such too much and too detailed described. But I'm really sooo curious about the next book.

That was my issue - my mind wandered with all the descriptions in the second half but like I said it was worth the read.

The first half has been great... but I'm wondering if I'm going to finish it because it's kind of, I don't know, more fantasy than Urban Fantasy? Soooo much description. I have a hard time caring what happens with their 'relationship'.
I DO want to know what's up with the teeth though, so I guess I'll keep going:) I guess I got tired when the doors closed. Brimstone obviously doesn't want her to come through but she will anyway, and hopefully that doesn't destroy the world.
I really liked Brimstone and the hot dead guy who wasn't really dead. What a fantastic original world!

Oh, you HAVE to at least hold out for the teeth. The idea behind it is such a good one. And, yes, the world...such great originality, I thought. That's why I liked the book so much. I found it rather refreshing.

I am more into urban fantasy as well - perhaps that was my problem. I also didn't buy into the romance love at first sight thing -- I am not into love at first sight stories.

I gave it 3 stars so for me that means I did not love it by any means. I am pretty picky with my 4 and 5 star ratings as you may have noticed :)

Bethany | 578 comments finished The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead and Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill last night.

I definitely enjoyed the golden lily, but still...it just doesn't get to me the VA did.

Meant to Be was a great contemporary! I think a lot of you would like this one. If you enjoy books like Anna and the french kiss or graffiti moon, then I think you'd really like this book!

Next up is Easy by Tammara Webber and Mystic City (Mystic City, #1) by Theo Lawrence and The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1) by David Estes not sure which order yet. YAY, David!! I'm excited :)

message 13325: by Karen’s Library (new)

Karen’s Library Just picked up the newest Pern book Sky Dragons (Pern, #24) by Anne McCaffrey So excited! This is the last book Anne MacCaffrey did (in collaberation with her son, Todd) before her recent death. The Acknowledgement Todd McCaffrey did at the beginning of the book about his mum's passing had me teary eyed at the book store. I read the first 9 pages in the Starbucks there and can't wait to delve in later today!!

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) The Magicians (The Magicians, #1) by Lev Grossman I accidentally read the second one first. But I liked it better than this one.

Theo Tellulah wrote: "The Magicians (The Magicians, #1) by Lev Grossman I accidentally read the second one first. But I liked it better than this one."

I liked them both fairly evenly, although if I had to pick one it'd probably be The Magician King. Julia's backstory was interesting, and Quentin grew on me. With The Magicians, I really liked the first 75% or so, but the ending didn't keep my interest.

I loved this book! It's very cute and fun. The pilot was shot for The CW and it got rejected; however, they're re-filming it and hoping it will get picked up for next year instead. I hope it works out!
