Tânia (taninha) reading The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner

message 12702: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Moorer (sherrithewriter) I just finished "Moonseed" by Stephen Baxter. Totally flat characterization that made it difficult to read. I was thinking about reading "Red Mars" next, but I'm not sure if I'm up for another terraforming book yet. I'll have to drink some wine and ponder it more.

I took FROI back, Tânia. I'm thinking I'm just not in the mood. (It happens ;) Picked up [book:Unwind
which has been on my TBR forever, and I'm searching for my next read. More dystopia I think.

No, I'm sorry! I'll go over and look at your review right now to see. I stopped so that I was reading the second just before the second season of the show started. (Though after this I'm going to have a harder time.)

How is fire? I also have it at home but I don't know if I already read it - is it better than graceling or not?

Natalie (neon_bookworm) | 36 comments Deeann wrote: "Loved Miss Peregrine ---- I really hope there is a sequel to this --- "

Ransom Riggs' website says he is currently working on writing book number two and even better that it's going to be made into a movie directed by Tim Burton! Can it get any better?!

Also I just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs and Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor . I've been devouring books since I'm on spring break and actually have time to do leisure reading instead of reading for school.

I'm starting Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis tomorrow.

It definitely wasn't better than Graceling, I'd say it was almost as good though.

Let me know how Untraceable is. I almost bought that, but didn't. I'll go back and get it though if you tell me it's worth it :)

message 12714: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 578 comments I reread Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta yesterday and I cried and cried and cried. Then I went into my room and told my husband, "I don't know why I do this to myself". But I actually do know why...and it hasn't been said in a while so I'm gonna say it. Melina Marchetta is AMAZING!!!

PS. I really hope the Jellicoe movie comes to the states because I don't think Looking for Alibrandi got released in the US. And even though there is NO WAY that Jellicoe will be as good in a movie format, I still wanna see it :)

message 12715: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Are they making a movie of Jellicoe Road?? If so I need to fly there to see it! I'm thinking Goodreads road tip!

Yeah, there's nothing on IMDB, which worries me. The only reason I know is because she posted info on her website. But, I HAVE to see that movie! Road Trip sounds gooood!!!

message 12720: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Yep, Marchetta has been writing the screenplay for it.

You can get Alibrandi off Amazon from one of the sellars. i have it in my cart.

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 9 comments Finished Juliet Immortal and Entwined. Also, Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy by Raine Thomas. Juliet Immortal was really good. Entwined had potential but the author filled it with waaaaaay too much setting details and had barely no plot. The Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy were pretty good but the plot seemed to repeat itself over and over again in all three books.

Has anyone read Spellbound by Lynn Schultz?

message 12724: by Debbie (new)

I bought the first one yesterday and stayed up until 3am finishing it and then have just finished 2 and 3 today

I tried that and gave up. I never picked up another Dessen book afterwards.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I'm kinda wanting to punch Auden thus far. Though there's a glimmer of hope that she might stop being so superior and come down a little from her high horse. We shall see.

The story doesn't appeal much to me, but we'll see, I don't want to give up just yet.

I haven't been able to force myself to read too much of Incarnate either- I'm about halfway done and could care less about the characters!
